Looks like a rebuild for collins hut when lam mobile again l’ll get a few of my tradie mates and we will look at these hut that need attention and see what we can do. By the way my injuries aren’t as bad l haven’t broken my legs l’ve torn the muscles under the hamstring called Bicept toresorous or something like that very painful cannot kneel down, sitting down and standing up is a problem. Really enjoyed the vid.

@@Bush-Tv well it didn’t happen in the high country it happened in central Victoria we were prospecting and the front left hand wheel went down a disused mine shaft the 4x4 rolled a few times l don’t know how many but stopped up against boulder.

Aye Buddy you are a man of my own heart love the Jamieson Howqua Mansfield area especialy the Howqua river that place was were I caught my very first fish I was only a 6 year old kid at the time wonder what happen to the Howqua post office and general store as I use to live oppisit the place been trying to find out for years.
Its such a special area in there mate, the mountains, rivers, and bird life is fantastic.
Not sure what happened to that post office mate I'm not even sure where about that was, But sounds interesting.
Did it originate from the mining days?

I had a 45 minute convo with him at Bluff hut back in 2010, seemed like a normal bloke that was apparently stalking a pack of wild dogs 😅

So that was a great video of the best of the High Country, I have just turned 80 yrs in Oct this year it's great to be able to watch your presentations and think back to all the good times I had in the 60's and 70's. Of course there was fewer people around then ( really none !!!!) and I was the only one in a 4wd all be it a LWB Land- Rover but I had just as much fun as you do now, keep it up mate and Cheers

My personal favorite hut to camp at is the Upper Jamieson hut mate.
The way you come down, cross the river then it just opens up to the hut. That view just gets me every time.
Just one of the many gems the high country has to offer us, as we are truely blessed !

Little river junction the stand out for me. Spent a week there by ourselves last September. Didn’t see anyone else. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 I’m not into the huts myself, although I appreciate the history and heritage value.
