I agree: Even if season 4 would be greatly improved, neither the show nor Liam Hemsworth would get a fair chance. I am honestly super surprised Netflix hasn't used the strike in hollywood as an excuse to say "oh well we have save money so ... bye bye witcher."
I honestly have no hype for season 4 and more hype for The Witcher 1 remake and The Witcher 4. The latter two should give us more hope for the franchise.
I thought I was the only one distracted by the unicorn balls because directly after I looked on twitter and no one was talking about them balls XD (but I now know about a sweet called unicorn balls, so maybe it was a very indirect ad XD )
Stupidly enough the writers screwed up the Thanedd Coup, Nilfgaard attacks the Northern Kingdoms 3 times in the Witcher franchise, 1. To get Cirilla where Cintra is destroyed. 2. After the battle of Sodden Hill where Vilgefortz is suppose to win the battle instead YENNEFER, The Emperor Emhyr Var Emreis decides that Nilfgaard has to weaken the mages so he & Vilgefortz plan the Thanedd Coup to kill most of them. Visdamir Dijkstra & Philippa Eilhart had their own plans so Thanedd arc was gripping in the books. The writers completely destroy that in the show by making all characters idiots. The third time Nilfgaard attacks the Northern Kingdoms is in the games so it a nice continuation. Philippa Eilhart created the Lodge of Sorcerers because of the Thanedd Coup but you know YENNEFER is Lauren Hirsch self insertion so of course Yennefer does this in the show. In the Witcher franchise Yennefer doesn't join the lodge of Sorcerers making her stand out but Lauren Hirsch will cut out things about Yennefer that actually make her a likeable character just to shove her in the show more
Here is a criticism of the show that sums up how i feel about The Witcher: Blood Origin , The problem that underscores the entire series is that there simply was not enough time for the characters or the plot to mature over four episodes. The Blood Origin ending does not feel earned because the plot is so badly underdeveloped and the characters follow woefully generic arcs. The Witcher: Blood Origin also seems to have rushed through its production, which constitutes another case of underdevelopment. The unnamed monster that wipes out the monarchies during the pilot episode is a particularly bad example of CGI. The CGI issue is present throughout the series. Blood Origin’s Characters Lack Depth , Another critical issue for The Witcher: Blood Origin is that the characters come off as one-dimensional stock fantasy characters. unoriginal characters still come down to poor writing. As such, these new characters require time on screen and relevant dialogue to set up their backstories and make the audience care about them. Instead, they are given vague and generic backstories that provide minimal depth and cause the show to feel unimportant, creating a massive problem for Netflix. For example, Éile, also known as The Lark, is given a very vague story about needing to redeem herself to her clan. However, it is never clear what exactly she needs redemption for. Moreover, The Lark's clan, as well as all the other clans, are never explained in any detail. Instead, they are simply thrust into the story to provide a paper-thin form of background. Without more information about the Lark's past, she comes off as just another fantasy warrior seeking some sort of ambiguous redemption. In fact, virtually all the characters in Blood Origin come off that way. Fjall Stoneheart, who ends up becoming the first version of a witcher, is given the same amount of minimal background. In the span of perhaps his first 5 minutes of screen time, Fjall goes from a quick battle scene, to sleeping with Princess Merwyn, to being expelled from his clan. His arc is accelerated so much that his story is unable to take on any individual meaning. Fjall is essential to the plot of Blood Origin, as The Lark is, however, neither of them is important on their own because of their lack of depth. The characters ultimately come off as placeholders in a loose framework of overused fantasy tropes. Blood Origin Lacks Originality , The aforementioned lack of depth, in terms of the show's characters, the plot, and the world building, causes The Witcher: Blood Origin to come off as painfully unoriginal. Blood Origin uses narration in an attempt to provide depth and make the show feel more important, but this is simply disastrous. Jaskier appears briefly as the narrator's audience, but that does little to make the show feel relevant, or make the narration any less corny. The mysterious narrator also seems to be used in self-defense of the show's lack of originality in a conversation with Jaskier, but its defense only serves to underscore its lack of creativity. The Witcher: Blood Origin ends up feeling like a collage of worn-out fantasy tropes driven by a skeletal plot. everything from the generic plot to boring character arcs, displays the show's singular underdevelopment in all aspects of writing and production
😆. I don't think anyone can explain the Swicher Season’s 2 & 3 tv series , not the writers , not the producers or anyone. Its not even about Henry Cavill leaving the show anymore. The quality of everything has just hit rock bottom after Season 1. The costumes are bad. The dialogue is horrible. The pacing of the scenes was terrible & that especially causes the episodes in Season 3 to be slow & and it dragged on and on. The writers don’t have a coherent plan for the plot, so the characters suffer from poor characterization that often make no logical sense & will often result in actions that are so nonsensical that its basically characters assassination decisions in the show. The writers try to focus on political intrigue, but because they suck at writing anything new , it resembles season 8 of Game of Thrones
I don't know how the mages fought decently with a variety of spells in the battle of Sodden Hill & now the only spells they know is shield and push. WTF. Episode 6 of Season 3 of the Witcher could have been very good instead of just ok but the writers are so lazy that they just refuse to put any effort into their jobs
Vilgeforz/Geralt fight is actually true to the books, pretty much. Vilgeforz used staff and not magic to show Geralt that he can dominate him without magic. However, the reason he left Geralt alive (in the books at least) was cos he was in a hurry to get to Ciri... And to let him live with the knowledge that Vilgeforz got her and Geralt could do nothing about it. Sadistic in nature... Also, in the books, the fight didn't take place on a beach; it was in a hallway leading to the tower to which Ciri fled. Basically, Geralt was literally blocking the way to Vilgeforz. In the final fight, though, Vilgeforz uses both staff and magic. As you see, makes sense in the books, but here, with all the changes and simplifications, the point is lost. This is garbage by Wokeflix!
Yes it makes sense and it's good storytelling (books). First we see part of Vilgefortz's strength, and in next events we see his full power. Strong writing. Netflix show is a joke. A bad joke even.
THE WITCHER SEASON 2 , one of my biggest problem with season 2 was that i was looking for character interactions & some good dialog but nobody talked about anything except for some witty small talk. i blame the writers because they had an opportunity for some character development & wasted it. they didn't development CIRI & GERALT relationship in the right way when they had the opportunity. the writers rushed to get to KAER MORHEN when they didn't need to. they should have taken their time to let CIRI & GERALT build a relationship. don't even get me started on the on the fact that they skipped the time when CIRI was a child [ 6 or 8 years old ] & GERALT saved her. it was the first time , they met. how could the writers skip that. the writers completely character assassinated YENNEFER by having her betray CIRI & GERALT. i don't care if she changed her mind & saved her in the end. none of YENNEFER choices or actions make any sense in season 2. there no way that YENNEFER would ever allow any child to get possessed just to get her magic back. she might do something like that to an adult but never a child. i can't understand why YENNEFER would save CAHIR , i can see someone like TRISS not wanting to murder CAHIR but i don't see YENNEFER being bothered about killing some Nilfgaardian she doesn't know or care about. plus i'm shocked that GERALT didn't kill YENNEFER for putting CIRI in so much danger. that's really out of character for him. its really weird that he's so forgiving at the end of season 2. i will be the first to admit i don't like YENNEFER after she left her magic school. i really liked her character when she a hunch back. she interesting & not such a bitch. it seems like instead of trading her womb for her looks , she traded her ability to have kids to be a bitch. i don't have a problem with her being sassy & a slight bitch but her being queen bitch all the time makes it seem like her only character trait. i don't know what GERALT see in her honestly. even in the books & games , they have nothing in common other than CIRI. a child is not enough to make a relationship work. i have no clue why the writers killed ESKEL. they brought in a bunch of new witchers in season 2 but choose to kill ESKEL. instead of killing a new witcher off. that's nonsensical
season 3 character arcs & characterization of the Witcher is really bad. its a sad waste of time. they turn GERELT into a side character in his own show. his action scene are good but the show barely focuses on him , which really a shame because Gerelt is a captivating character as always. i thought the writers might have concentrated on his character more but as usual the Witcher writers are clueless. they turn Radovid into an annoying LEX LUTHER type of character from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. the writers turn Emhyr var Emreis, The White Flame Dancing on the Barrows of his Enemies into an incredibly bland boring character. his dialog is the worst. its completely takes you out of the show. Radovid & Emhyr are two of greatest characters & antagonists in The Witcher franchise , [ books , games & anything else ] , so it's really stinks that these characters suck so bad in the show. if you know anything about BLOOD ORIGIN , then you know that Eredin Bréacc Glas the King of the Wild Hunt is kind of a weakling & really non-threatening so that a waste of an antagonist / villain so i don't have any hope of The Witcher tv show being a really cringe but entertaining tv show , but The Witcher tv show its just awful , i don't know how the writers of the show made Thanedd Coup so dull. uninteresting. boring. tedious. tiresome. they tried to make this entire season into GAME OF THRONE Lite , it barely resembles Thanedd Coup. As for YENNEFER , she failed to apologize in any meaningful & significance way to GERALT or Cirilla for releasing discount baba Yaga , taking CIRI to Cintra to be possessed , YENNEFER doesn't show any guilt for the Witchers who died in KAER MORHEN or anything. YENNEFER does try to shallowly & half-heartedly apologize to GERALT for maybe a couple minutes in one episode if you add the total up but it lacks substance & any type of conviction at all. As for YENNEFER apologizing to CIRI for taking advantage of her trust & getting her possessed , they have a one minute conversation about it. I'm honestly not sure because it went by so fast that I can't even say that's what the conversation was about. Then the writers just hand wave the situation & nobody brings it up again period. As for YENNEFER actions in relation to the plot season 3 , it was established in almost the whole franchise that YENNEFER doesn't care for politics [ in the games YENNEFER only cares in relation to saving other people, in the books YENNEFER is not that good at politics & you get the gist that among the mages of the north Philippa Eilhart & Vilgefortz are excellent at politics by comparison to YENNEFER & she only cares in relation to her magic school or saving someone , even in season one of the show's YENNEFER leaves politics behind her early. So because season 3 focuses on a GAME OF THRONE LITE version of Thanedd Coup YENNEFER character really suffered from the bad writing especially after her character assassination characterization of season 2. Yennefer’s actions in The Witcher season 2 make some of her best moments in season 3 feel unearned and very hard to believe. a montage isn’t enough to make viewers fully buy that Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer are a family. Tissaia tells Yennefer “You finally became a mother”, which could have been a truly heartwarming moment in the series had Yennefer not done what she did in season 2 and had season 3 not rushed through the fixing and building of her bond with Ciri. “Yennefer, actor Anya Chalotra is able to play her as a sorceress who has come into her own. She's not the unlikable, somewhat whiny character from Season 2. She's confident, powerful, and more in line with how Yennefer of Vengerberg is supposed to be. The only issue is that there is too little supporting it. viewers only get a short montage and a couple of other scenes before Yennefer gets to this stage. The rest of the show assumes that's enough for her character to be compelling. but it's really not. YENNEFER costumes are terrible in season 3. its laughable. Philippa Eilhart & Dijkstra were underutilized & don't live up to their characters at all. Vilgefortz is decent but he's going to be the most unsurprising surprise villain ever because the writers have been dropping really unsubtle hints since season one. Vilgefortz killing the mage in season 1 & interrogating Tisseia about CIRI in season 2 gave the surprise away. as for CIRILLA , she's good but she's only half as endearing , charming , engaging & cool as her counterparts in the books & games. I like her a lot & her relationship with GERALT is nice , even if I consider it diminished by all the wasted potential opportunities of season 1 & 2. The writers do this really annoying thing with her character where they write themselves into a corner so CIRI will constantly get caught by any & everyone after her , even after GERALT & YENNEFER tell her constantly & repeatedly to be careful & stay safe. It gets irritating after a while. CIRI trains with magic & different ways of fighting for a bit but its so so to me because she gets interrupted repeatedly so I don't think of her as a great fighter. A good one but not outstanding. A problem with her character is that the writers are trying to portray her as a great physical fighter instead of a person who uses agility , flexibility, magic swordsmanship to kick ass & Freya Allen looks thin & tall , in other words not a strong physical fighter. The other critique I have about CIRI is that in season 3 she's just there , she doesn't really do anything plot wise , CIRI is like the Infinity Stones in Avengers Infinity War an important element of the plot but she's inertia in her actions in the show. Let's say these 5 episodes have more books stuff than the previous season, but still not enough to call it an adaptation. I'm not interested in watching more of the Swicher. I wouldn't mind if they actually made improvements on the source material but all the so called improvements were even worse than fanfiction. So I'm not interested in Lauren's terrible writing & directing. People watching Season 3 of the Swicher will just encourage these Netflix Morons to produce more of this trash. I'm not watching the CIRI & YENNEFER show. So if you haven't seen it yet , save yourself from the suffering , if you have seen it. tell me what you think
the writers hate the franchise & the audience so that explains why this trash is so badly underdeveloped and overstuffed with garbage. I not sure who this show was made for because it was not meant for fans of the games , books , it was dumbed down for stupid people who stopped watching after Season 2 , it's was not made for women because trust me Henry Cavill would have been in it more 😉 , it not made for men because all the mages in season 3 would have been hot. So we concluded that the Swicher was made for the narcissistic writers and producers in charge of the show & at Netflix
I hate it. Its genuinely the worst season of television in the last decade. Outside of GOT. Besides the writers are doing a Marvel style multiverse to explain the different GERALT. The writers don’t even know how to read because the Witcher franchise has many different worlds , not different versions of the same world. Plus if you know Blood Origin , you know Eredin Bréacc Glas , the king of the Wild Hunt is really non-threatening & is basically a joke so there is no hope of The show getting better. Things like this is why nobody cares about the writers & actors strike. They have really been making complete garbage tv shows recently. Willow , Rings of Power , Velma , Cleopatra , Blood Origin & Secret Invasion. These are just the show's I can remember off the top of my head. There must be so many others. People are sick of watching terrible tv. Hollywood is determined to ruin it self & they have pissed the audience off so much that people are happy that they will be mostly gone
I agree: Even if season 4 would be greatly improved, neither the show nor Liam Hemsworth would get a fair chance. I am honestly super surprised Netflix hasn't used the strike in hollywood as an excuse to say "oh well we have save money so ... bye bye witcher."
"...going to commit sudoku."
Im so glad im not the only one who makes this joke 😆
If they didn’t spend half of part 1 trying to undo the stupid stuff they did in season 2, the pacing might have been better.
Unicorn Balls? Bruh! This is an okay ep. Everyone is just dreading H.C.'s departure :(

People are sick of watching terrible tv. Hollywood is determined to ruin it self & they have pissed the audience off so much that people are happy that they will be mostly gone
