for my people with legitimately small hands, just practice balancing it on your middle, ring, and pinky finger more than anything. that's what will make it go smoother and quicker once you let your thumb go

Some tips if you do have small hands:
    1. make sure that your palm is facing up
    2. after cutting the deck in half, secure the upper half with your pinkie
    3. try to keep your thumb on the upper half (even only on the bottom couple of cards) for as long as possible

Today is the first day I've ever been able to do this cut. Your tip with the thumb helped a lot but also showing how high you are holding the deck was a bigger help. I always said, "my hands are too small" and then I met a guy with smaller hands than me who did insane cardistry so I knew it was just my mental block. Thank you.

Incomplete guide: what TF are your pinky and forefinger doing during the cut and restack?
Are the cards being pressed against your palm for more control?
How do you keep split deck parallel to each other the whole time? When I press the bottom deck up with my forefinger only the top corner raises 1st. And then they become uneven.
