You are so right about this jacket! It never leaves my pack and rarely leaves my body. I have the hoodless in both Kuiu patterns and it sits on top of a Tech t-shirt and another Peloton layer, 97 or 200 zip-t. After the 240 the guide jacket is perfect. If it is dry this 240 is my outer layer. I dig the collar on the hoodless jacket too. First class review and I am sending this vid to a friend to see. Thank you!
Do you think wearing the peloton 97 as a base layer and this 240 full zip hoodie as my main outer layer jacket keep me warm in weather as low as low 30s-40s?
Mike, guaranteed you will not be disappointed. If you purchase one and don't like it. I will personally buy it off you. That is how much I love the piece.
I dig it kind what iam looking for i dont need a coat but spring need jacket not coat early fall jacket not a coat then with wind resistant should buy ya little extra time before having to call a day 😕
Do you ever layer the peloton 240 with the base layer and vest you’re wearing in this video? If no, what typically would you wear over the vest? Many thanks for all the time you put into your videos.
Hey Zach, I run colder than most people, so I'm the only one on my team using a vest. I do wear this down vest, but I also like the Guide vest: www.kuiu.com/products/guide-dcs-vest-verde-camouflage-2-0?variant=40340451262622&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpImTBhCmARIsAKr58czw6s8nLtLxykBhgu4JZV3754hq5q7j5fWJMLHdyyoSAPvrfuztzrwaAodWEALw_wcB
I don't have one of these. Looks a bit warmer than the 240, so that could be great in cooler conditions. The 240 has magical anti-wind properties that I suspect the 280 does not have.
Johnny Honda440 tough for me to say for sure, but in those temps I think it would be great for that. That would be an ideal temp for me to be active while wearing this piece.
If you mean Yukon cold, then synthetic and wool base layers are not a big deal for why I will be warm. Outer layers will make the difference. The key with your base layer is that it keeps you dry in terms of warmth in the winter. Both synthetics and the wool do a great job of that.
Little late to the party, I all of my gear/pack is Kuiu however I feel I’m missing one important piece on the upper body.. would this work well for early archery season as an outter, yet fill the gap later as a mid layer in late rifle? I’m in Idaho. Thanks
Hey LJ, I wear this as an outer during the early season, and it transitions to a mid-layer as things get cooler. I know my photographer will go an entire bison hunt without taking this off. Because it's quite windproof, yet breathable, it's a great layer to have on when you are moving. You can unzip it it to cool off, but it still protects the arms. The hood is fantastic in the wind and to keep some bugs off.
Would you recommend the Peloton 240 or 200 as a mid-layer? I wear merino base layer, have a sitka kelvin lite vest and then a rain shell. Looking for a mid-layer for colder hunts.
Hey Greg, quick question..... I don't have access to check these out in person but would like to know in your opinion... would you recommend this as a mid layer for mid/late season Whitetail tree stand bow hunting? temps ranging from -15C - 5C (5F-40F) Taking into account wind prevention, noise and arm drawing movement? Thank you for your time brother.
Hey Wayne, I look at this as a light mid layer. At -5 to -15 it will not be enough for me tree stand hunting. This layer teamed up with say the Kenai. Then a shell would be greatly in those conditions.

Derek Hanson 💯, I live where the hood is almost mandatory. Give one a try and you won’t be disappointed.

@@jeffreya8329 If active, walking hiking...if not, especially with any wind...likely not in low 30s.
@@kee7678 yeah thanks I ended up buying the kutana 3dfx as my outer layer worked well in low 20s and high mph winds
I cannot wait to add the 240 to my kit. Heard tons of good stuff about it.
Go for it Jordan, satisfaction guaranteed. Thanks for joining the team.
Great vid. Just got a peloton 240 verde hooded and a non-hooded vias 240. Can’t wait for hunting season to begin!
It'll be here before we know it!
Which one do you prefer? Hood or hoodless?
it looks fantastic , I will for sure checking them out

Bingo. This piece adapts to many conditions and will allow you to go from sitting to moving without missing a beat.

What vest are you wearing in this video? Damn good looking vest. Can’t wait to get my hands on the Peloton 240.
That's the Super Down ULTRA vest. www.kuiu.com/global/hunting-vests/super-down-ultra-vest/50021.html?dwvar_50021_color=ViasCamo&cgid=vest
dmartinez1993 Kenai vest👍
Are you looking at the new peleton 280 kuiu just released?
I don't have one of these. Looks a bit warmer than the 240, so that could be great in cooler conditions. The 240 has magical anti-wind properties that I suspect the 280 does not have.
Do you think this hoodie would also be good for pheasant hunting in the 20 - 30 degree range? I tend to over heat while busting through brush.

@@kee7678 I did not end up getting it.
Is there an additional pocket on the left side of the upper chest just like the north face?
No there is not!
Great vid!
Thank you, Darin!
Does anyone know if it's quiet enough for bow hunting whitetail?
Yes. It is very quiet. I bow hunt in my 240 vest. Buying the jacket tonight. I wear the vest 4-5 months. Very warm for how thin it is.
What base layers u rock? N is the peloton wool or synthetic? N how do u feel about wool vs. Synthetic in cold temps? In a nutshell of course. Thanks
The Peleton 240 is synthetic. I prefer wool, l like the ULTRA and PRO Merino layers as my base layers.

Wish they would do it in a 1/4 zip
I like being able to zip it right down to allow more complete temperature regulation, to be honest.
Would you recommend the Peloton 240 or 200 as a mid-layer? I wear merino base layer, have a sitka kelvin lite vest and then a rain shell. Looking for a mid-layer for colder hunts.
You will not go wrong with either. I can use the 240 as a light jacket in warmer Yukkn temps.
I know KUIU Gear seems to run small on certain items. Did you have to size up or did you get your true size??
I tend to run M on the shirts but step up to L on the jackets.
What’s your weight and height?
