There is a study that shows cats might love us. It's just the way they care is very different from dogs. Have a look at Alice Potter and Daniel S. Mills study from 2015 on PLOSone.
Go watch vids about animals saving humans, there's no way animals don't love us ~
Jordles that is an instinct, but when you come home to your dog that crawl up on you because they miss you, or have you seen that video where the dogs owner died and the dog was crying on it's grave? So much evidence that dogs and humans have a bond and this video shows no proof of what they are saying is true.
Doodle Fox do you have any science to back up that you aren't assigning some other random body language that could mean anything to 'love'.

Once when I was like 14 I had a really bad pain in my stomach (turns out it was appendicitis) and I was crying like a baby on my bed but no one believed that it really hurt and they thought I was trying to get out of going to school but my dog was the only one who came to me and tried to get me to get up or was just around me. Love her and she loves me dammit.

My aunties doggie loves my auntie so much, that when she's gone she will hide underneath a table. I try to give her food then, but she'll ignore me. When my auntie comes back home she begins to bark and get super hyper. Thanks for reading my story!

I remember one time I was feeling lonely/depressed (I had just been dumped and my ex had moved out) and I was just sitting on the bed in something of a daze and my dog came and just jumped on the bed and lay down next to me. It was the smallest thing but I was just sobbing my eyes out because she was just there.

I disagree, dogs CAN love! We had one dog that refused to eat when I left for school. I had to take him to school(different town) with me because he actually got sick when I left him. I grew up with him. He was 14 when I took him to my place and he was so happy. I know he loved me and I still love him even if he's gone

1) some people are allergic
2) some are scared of dogs
3) if you go to a special-needs school and if you're blind that's the only reason why you need a dog at school

My grandfather died and i was given the dog. Shes 13 years old and fallows me everywhere we always howl together, and i always help her when she gets stuck outside. She survived a hurricane in Tennessee, shes half blind and half deaf but she always is with me where ever i can have her and i feel she always knows whats going on with me because whenever m sad Lucy will come to play with me.

This video made me cry, and when my dog saw me crying he immediately came over to comfort me, and all the love made me cry even more
I say this is false because when we see dogs in the shelter and they get excited to see us, they don't know see us as food sources, they don't even know us. When I was looking for a dog, I took one for a walk and in minutes, she was licking me. I didn't even give her a treat or water so I believe it is deeper than just food.

i actually cried while watching this bc it made me think about if my dog even loves me at all and she’s the thing I love most in the world so 💕😭
I worked in a kennel for 5 1/2 years, then left for 3 years and went back and am pursuing a behaviorist certification. I can honestly, unabashedly, and without a single doubt in my mind tell you that they not only love us, they remember us, they are happy to see us, and they are rewarded by our presence alone. Food, treats, and play are just the perks for them. Dogs are pack animals at their core, and even though some selective breeding has affected that, they still make deep emotional bonds and connections and certainly get attached to individuals over something as simple as saying their name in a way that makes them happy.
