They have memories and they are not going to allow humans to abuse them.

i think it's because that dog is specifically "wild." just like how the owners said, she loves freedom so they're more worried about her trailing off so they used a leash for her. and you can see she can't stay still when they told her to so they need a leash bc they're scared she'll leave. don't think it has to do with her breed.
i own a pitbull and they are VERY hyper and get distracted like babies all the time. The difference between a small dog running off and a pitbull is that they will drag you and not even notice. they are very strong and very sweet and people are scared of them so a leash also helps those who maybe fear them feel like "oh big pitbull cant come kill me bc of a leash"
