I will never get tired of watching Melee Samus. Something about the way proper reads flow into combos and the animation of her attacks makes top level play so satisfying. The bob and weave in neutral with her jabs and tilts, the difficulty of landing a grab and then chaining it into an up throw + back air, CHARGE SHOT...Samus is just built to be satisfying as hell.
@@huntersnider9621 The neutral is boring because Samus is clunky and nearly always loses in neutral interactions, hence the constant need to move around. It just hurts to watch -- not because I'm mad at Samus for evading the opponent, but because it feels especially unfair in an already imbalanced game. But when Samus finds an opening, she's even more fun to watch than when Falcon gets an opening, because there is a lot more nuance and style -- fewer confirms but way more options.
@@huntersnider9621 Morsecode’s neutral is at least funny to watch. When he went up against Hugs at Big House he would straight up just stand in front of him for 2 seconds.
In shiek games, I often saw Wevins shoot a missile at the ledge when sheik was descending from being sent offstage. Seems to force shiek into a nair to block the missile, which stops her from grabbing ledge and forces her into a low recovery. Pretty damn neat
"Standing there menacingly" xD so true. This guy took our lunch money at a super small friend tourney back in like '06 or '07 at a park in Stevenson Ranch, CA. I think it's the reason I play Samus now after a couple years away from melee.

I don’t avoid competing because I care about how people feel. I don’t compete because, while I love the thrill of competition, I don’t currently enjoy practicing Melee, nor can I dedicate the time it takes. That may change soon, but until then, I won’t touch a controller unless I know I can dedicate myself to play at a level I’d be happy with.

It's funny, for me Samus is one of the most boring characters to watch in neutral, but once she gets somethin' cooking, it's pretty badass
