Your port holes and side hatch windows from Caldwell we went with Caldwell and being in the fenestration ind we went for the thermal break windows and with privacy glass. 👍🏼
Us too double glazed. Was really impressed with how warm the boat was empty on a cold day. Combination of spray foam and double glazing. The challenge was the windows went in before painting, so we had a couple coats of high build primer added to ensure the steel under the windows was properly protected before bonding.
Haha. We flip flop daily with that one. It’s 3 times the price of T&G but 10 times quicker to install. It’s smooth, stable, no warping, and if sealed properly is good I think but defo 50/50 split with people for & against.
@@messinaboutwithanarrowboat if your worried about screw retention the Radiator brackets will be fitted to the vertical battens. Like I said before Swan Boat builders Aintree use it. Yes we have a swan boat🤣👍🏼if you want some pictures I’ll send you some of our MR Mdf walls. 👍🏼
We looked at Swan. Lovely boats. For rads, I’ll fit extra battens so should be ok but will probably use those plasterboard butterfly bolts to spread load.

with so much to paint, have you thought about getting an air compressor and spraying the paint? Can always resell the compressor after its been used
Thanks. That’s an idea. I’d have the room to do it with hanging tarps around to catch overspray. Never thought of that 👏
Still think you should use Moisture resistant MDF. If your anywhere near Swan Boat builders at Aintree pop over and have a look.
