    Despite ‪@thespiffingbrit‬ latest video claiming Humankind is a perfectly balanced game, I'm here to tell you it is indeed perfectly balanced. If perfectly balanced means trade, trade, and more trade that you can exponentially duplicate and multiply to gain insane bonuses, sending your FIMS resources flying!
    How does trade work in Humankind? This video will answer that key question, exploring how to trade in Humankind game, what trade treaties to pick and how to get the ai to accept your trade treaties. Luxury and strategic resources can be traded in Humankind, and any traded resource will also be held by the user/ creator too. In Humankind, traded resources still benefit the owner (regardless of how many copies are traded).
    I'll also discuss how to monitor and understand trade routes in Humankind, and how to create trade routes. The insane yields generated by trade routes in humankind, largely thanks to the massive yields luxuries like tea, gold, porcelain, really alllll of them! You will absolutely snowball and never run our of stability if you can trade and collect as many luxuries as possible.
    Thanks for watching this Humankind game video about trade and how to break humankind game by exploding your yields and easily beating the AI on any difficulty. So Is Humankind A Perfectly Balanced Game With No Exploits? Well there is only one way to find out! . Humankind is wonderful and i'll continue to cover it right here on my JumboPixel youtube channel for humankind gameplay, humankind updates, humankind guides and more! #Humankind #HumankindGame #Exploit

    One additional thing I found in my trade game was adopting the civic to attach and absorb with money instead of influence.. you can form a gigalopolis (30+ territories in 1 city) fairly easily on a big map. And with that all your trade routes fall under all effects (e.g. wonders like empire state building, infrastructure +money per trade route, etc.). I didn't realize it until I absorbed all my cities but it more than doubled my income. Last thing about huge cities, Teutons with the faith generation from their emblematic district are super broken with Angkor Wat, and you can sustain massive numbers of territories + pops without building a ton of farmer's quarters. I think I had something like 450 pops on a city with maybe 7-8 farmers quarters in contemporary era (of course this was trading for every food luxury, wondrous effects, and all food infrastructure upgrades).

  • @bobwinters5572
    @bobwinters5572 2 роки тому +6

    He touched on it indirectly near the end, but every strategic resource has an associated "infrastructure" that gets better the more of that resource the player has. For instance, the animal barn gives 5 food for every horse and the forge gives 5 production for every copper, which are quite powerful in the early game. The armory gives 25 experience for every iron, so you can end up with 2-3 stars of veterancy on every new unit with enough iron, which is always good. And so on. Even better, strategic resources are usually much cheaper to trade for than most luxuries. It gets quite silly on huge maps.

  • @bificommander
    @bificommander 2 роки тому +3

    I played one game so far, and the resource bonuses immediately seemed very powerful. I didn't know extra copies give you more benefits even without the patronage, but I did rush that tech when I saw the bonuses. Never needed to worry about stability afterwards .Unfortunately, resources were so clustered that I had either enough for patronage on my own, or all my copies were through trade so I had nowhere to build the patronage building, so I couldn't get as much as I'd have liked. And because on that first game I teched out way ahead of the AI, I was fuming as the AI didn't know what to do with their salpater resource nodes, let alone their uranium. I could never build many top-tier units because I didn't have the resources for it in my territory, and the AI couldn't work theirs.
    The purchasing system is pretty weird though. A one-time sum and then you get the bonuses for as long as the trade route isn't interupted, which could be next turn or until the end of the game. I think the trade system needs some rebalancing.

Playing on Empire and one of the AIs was ahead of me(large map few AI, hadn't meet anyone until near medieval era) started to trade with them and I quickly caught up(focused pop on money for awhile to buy all the trade goods). I find that after one successful AI kill that with trade a rush to science victory makes more sense than jeopardizing access to luxuries through war. AI cities are usually smaller than yours and after a war are depleted down to almost nothing and so the bounty of victory is limited later in the game if you have already had some success. Not sure how I feel about that, but the pressure from the outside and the pressure to take more land eases after the medieval and maybe as late as early modern periods. Not sure if balancing is needed to allow for incentive to the AI to push harder for war when losing or for you as a player when winning to make late game war more of a thing. Heck, nukes when you have won hard are difficult to get online before science victory outright

    • @AlexBermann
      @AlexBermann 2 роки тому +4

      I would argue that this is a feature.
      Basically, the point humankind pushes is that "conquering the world" is not necessarily a good goal for the leader of a nation. The spread of an empire can easily become its demise and while people can be motivated to participate in wars, motivating them to conquer everything quickly becomes a problem. As Sun Tzu said: "there is no instance of a nation benefitting from belonged warfare".
      As for strategic balance, this doesn't mean that going for a strong military is a bad idea. Having a strong military means that you do not have to yield to other empires demands and can make demands of your own that they may not be able to afford to refuse. Basically, everyone wants to get on your good side because of that. The problem is: you need to bully other empires to make the most out of that strength and they know that. They will seek to form alliances and strengthen their military to match you - and trade embargos are a quite powerful tool to achieve that. This can lead you to a point where going to war is the only option.
      The way humankind approaches war is much closer to Clausewitz ideas of warfare than to the idea of a total war.

    • @emylily8266
      @emylily8266 2 роки тому

      You can still get massive benefits from later war by going after a players monopoly, conquering manufactories and extra stars is my main reason for war every time. Also sometimes the AI gets some really strong cities, conquered Mykene at late medieval/early modern and it had like 40 pop, 50 districts and as much science as lots of my other cities (humankind difficulty).

      On trading means for each passing trade route. Not just yours, but any trade route. If you hold the cursor on the Main plaza of that city you will see exactly how many trade routes pass though that city and to whom do they belong. Thus having a centrally located city can generate additional income from foreign trade routes as well.

I just really wish the UI was clearer on AI relations like a paradox game with numbers and not generic thumbs up/down and obtuse "attitudes" or "feelings" about you. Like your example here, the AI kept rejecting the alliance trade agreement for cheaper routes but I already had every single route purchased.. I wanted to make it cheaper for AI to get my resources and they even had a negative "stat" that they wanted my luxury resources, yet still declined the offer. Was extremely frustrating and couldn't figure out why they kept refusing the deal despite having the "revered" relationship.

    So what income do you generate from the ongoing trade of you own resources? It doesn't seem like there is any, yet it's implied there is. Do I not just get a one-time fee from the AI when they buy the resource? Seems like the income from trade routes comes entirely from infrastructures you build that give +gold for each trade route. But do those generate gold for you on both import and export trade routes? They are massively powerful gold engine. The whole trade system is very cryptic and hard to interact with in a meaningful way.
