This dudes channel is good. But man he makes some stretches. Harden was not a bum in OKC. Video creator took his lowest point output from his rookie year (9.9) to help the story. Cheeky.
Harden averaged 17 the year they made the finals. And was 6th man of the year. He was a huge piece for okc. And okc fans still hate that they didn’t extend him.

How could this guy forget the George Mikan Rule? He was so dominant near the basket that they doubled the width of the lane from 6 feet to 12 feet in 1951. He was also the reason for the Goaltending rule. He would swat shots out of the air as they approached the basket.

Harden was pivotal to the success of the OKC Thunder and played the very important 6th man role. He literally won the 6th man award with OKC. He also avg over 30 minutes a game, it's not like he was some bench warmer.
He avg 16.8 pts a game and bro wasn't even starting. He was on the US Olympic team.
OKC tried to keep him and offered a 4 yr $52M contract which he shot down. So they offered 54M or a trade to Houston. He wanted 60M at 5 yrs. He got his 5 yrs at 80M.
James Harden has never been a chump. He knew he was a superstar, we all did. There just wasn't enough space, money, and time for him with OKC.

Missing is Wilt Chamberlain, the only man to score 100 points in a game and average 50 per game for a whole season. He caused an increase in the size of the zone around the basket in which an offensive player cannot stay more than 3 seconds at a time. He was Shaq before Shaq. Shaq also caused the inclusion of a hinge on the basket so the force of a dunk won't cause the glass to break.

In the case of a technical foul in basketball which is when someone gets a foul for something without contact then they can choose who they want to shoot the free throw. Example coaches will get technical fouls by yelling at the referees too much sometimes.

The thing with the Zaza one, as a basketball player when you go block a shot or contest it, you don't do 2 hops steps. You just hop once to contest it and even if you feel you're too close to land together, the shooter always lands first coz you're reacting to him so if you land someone then something is wrong. The defender always lands last unless the shooter has some amazing hang time

Anyone who is fouled takes the free thow ONLY when they are over the foul limit, which happens very often in the last minutes of the 4th quarter. Otherwise its just a toss in. Only other way to send to the free throw line is if the person is going for a shot when fouled.

  • @declaneric
    @declaneric 2 роки тому

    Okay, to clarify:
Fouls result in free throws in the following situations:
    • You foul the player in the act of shooting
    • You exceed the allowable number of team fouls in a quarter. Offensive fouls do not count towards this, only defensive fouls. That number is 4. On the 5th team foul in a quarter, and all fouls in the quarter that follow, the player gets two free throws.
    • In the last two minutes of the first and second half - IF the team hasn't already gone over their team foul count, they get one team foul with no shots. But after that, all fouls in the last two minutes get two free throws.
    • There are free throws for other infractions, like technical fouls, three second violations, delay of game, stuff like that. But the above three situations dictate most of foul/free throw rules.
You can't just foul ANYONE and they get to shoot. If you foul someone off the ball, you get the team foul, but they take the ball from out of bounds - UNLESS the team has already committed enough team fouls to be in the penalty, AFTER which all successive fouls result in free throws. There's also an exception for "flagrant fouls," where the foul is considered intentionally excessive or hard, considered by the refs to be "not a basketball play."
    There's Flagrant-1 and Flagrant-2
So you jack someone up off the ball, and they determine it was flagrant:
Flagrant-1 gets the (victim)player two free throws and his team gets the ball.
Flagrant-2 gets the (victim)player two free throws and the ball, AND the offending player gets automatically ejected from the game. And by default, the NBA head office reviews the Flagrant-2 foul to determine if the offending player also gets suspended for a game or two or three, depending on how harsh it was, any possible resulting injuries to the (victim)player, etc.
Where the Hack-a-Shaq came into play was usually in the last two minutes of each half, or when the game is really close and a team is already over the team foul count for the quarter. For the most part the latter was used in the second half. Teams would throw End-of-The-Bench players, who normally would get little or no playing time, on the court just to foul. Each player gets six fouls before ejection, so teams could waste two ETB players and foul Shaq 12 times, for a total of 24 free throws. Some teams would do more than that. In later years, Shaq worked on his free throws to make it less appealing to hack him. He shot a little bit better in the back half of his career, but he was still among the worst ever at it. It was mostly the result of an injury to his left hand when he was younger. He couldn't grip the ball as well with his left hand (couldn't flex his fingers very well), so he mostly shot with one hand, and off his finger tips. He had no touch with the ball, it was a life-long problem.

I've always looked at fan-voting for the all star games to be properly 2 years behind reality. Generally its going to take a good player 2 great seasons to break thru into the public mindset enough to get the votes. Likewise, it takes a great player 2 years of being washed up before people stop voting for him.
