Videos like this make me really appreciate other UA-camrs who actually know how to edit clips and don't make random cuts in the middle of plays.
Ik
6:13 How does the umpire NOT notice that Howard never tagged first base? He never even came close.
I came here to say that.
ik this was a year ago but the umpire only signaled an out on the runner, not the batter-runner. did you look up the play by play to see if this was a double play?
@@tw1nn319 Agreed. Some folks just react without seeing the whole thing ... including the announcers!
How do you know the umpire didn't call him safe? We don't know if the batter-runner was called out because the video was cut short.
He obviously tagged the first base. Stop hating.
6:25 he never stepped on first lol. Wow.
Just came here to say that. In the replay, "There's one, and there's . . . ." as the fielder misses first and heads for the dugout. Cheers.
He tagged him with the ball ??
@@cheeze6669 not the player who hit the ball
He obviously stepped on first base. Stop hating.
That fall to the ground was s good as any fake soccer injury I've ever seen.
6:17 he never stepped on the bag. He stepped around it.
Yes, but I think he tagged him
@@erikeisner3396 No. He tagged the guy that started on first base. The batter never got tagged and first base was never touched. That's not a double play. Inning should have continued.
@@LemonStir did you check to see if the inning did continue? the umpire only signaled an out on the runner, not on the batter-runner
He obviously stepped on the bag. Stop hating.
@@jakemccoy You have eyes like Angel. He steps way over the bag after the tag. Batter is safe, runner is out.
It's so weird how some plays you totally forget about until you see them years later. I totally forgot about Kinsler throwing home until I watched this video and I can totally recall Dan Dickerson's radio call of that one.
Regarding the bat-end ball in play:
Some time in the early 70s there was a game on TV, might have been Royals and somebody, where the score ended 25-15, and a batter did the same, the pitch hit the end of the bat, and it went for a double... Wild game!
This is good, but there's some goofy loud music that is too loud at the end of the video, so turn your speakers down before that.
My speaker cones just shot out and across the room and dented the drywall.
Good video, lol. Subbed!!
That throw to home without the runner happens to me all the time when I try fielding in The Show... I thought that button was second base.
This is called bloopers. I love baseball bloopers, no need to try to word salad the description.
@7:40 - nothing funny about Healy's reaction - he was MAD! I'd ove to hear the dugout conversation after that one.
That had to be some behind the scenes drama
I can't believe it. A baseball video NOT from Jomboy!!
As opposed to most compilations like this, these are actually weird and different plays. I get tired of "unique" compilations that show 5 different players all making the same backhand stop and throw.
4:28 is the best one to me.
With either C.B.Buckner , or Angel Hernandez ...they might call a ball hit over the dugout .......as a fair ball ..
WACHA A CARDINAL, THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO
Jazz "Jesus Loves Me" as background music?
~6:10+.... He never touched 1st so the batter should be safe.
Think that was back in the day of “so long as you’re close, it’s good enough.” Should see some of the crazy plays at second that were called outs with the second baseman and SS nowhere near the base.
@@stormysyndrome7043 ... Oh I remember when they started telling the umps that "close enough" was not good enough.
But I don't think this was that long ago.
Honestly I don't understand everybody's complaint about your outro music. It sounds fine to me...maybe some people have their base turned way up.
Especially on the headsets, the change in the normal audio of the announcers to the heavy bass he introduces with the exit music would be unpleasant. I don't know what other people may have on their devices but I have no tone control on mine. It's okay on the speaker but on a set of headphones I would have a problem too.
@0:49 WORST Eephus Pitch EVER
5:06 That's why there is a designated area for coaches to stand in 🤷♂️ Of you're outside of your area and touch the ball, it should be interference and call the runner out...
not true. Unless it is intentional interference by the coach, it's nothing. Stop making up rules that don't exist.
The runner is not even called out when hit by a batted ball in foul territory. What play exactly do you think the coach interfered with? The ball boy's shot at making a highlight reel?
I apologize, I stopped to comment before realizing there are two coaches hit by a ball in a row. The time stamp you gave refers to the second one, a thrown ball, not a batted ball. The coach getting hit actually almost helped the defensive team. Made it a close play at home. The throw doesn't hit him and there is not even a throw to the plate.
Question: who is the announcer at 1:55 ? Antone know?
I love the baby, pretending to get hit, and then casually out at first for crying like an infant soccer player in the box! 😂
7:31 it was at this moment that he knew...we fucked up
6:13 Where did he tag first?????
They don’t make players like they use to. What a bunch of babies!
Ryan Howard never did touch first base
so does the guy get a free base for hit by catcher?
No.
What the heck happened at 2::07??
Quick Pitch
@@cameronward1260 A quick pitch is when the pitcher delivers a pitch before the batter is reasonably set in the box. The batter appeared to be reasonably set ready for the pitch. If you believe it was a "quick pitch" because the batter did not come set that would be wrong. There is no need to pause when there are no runners on base. I'm not sure why the umpire called time.
the ball that was on the line that the outfielder took on the chin and went foul. How is that called because it looked like it my have dropped fair but the was pushed foul, what's the actual rule?
We need to determine if the ball was over foul or fair territory when it was first touched by the fielder.
Unless the ump can see different i would say the bunt was foul
The umpire did have a much better view than you did. It looks like the ball is over the plate when touched so it would be a fair ball.
@@alanhess9306 Maybe but to me it looked like he was still behind the plate when he grabbed the ball.
@@ronaldmead7643 It doesn't matter where he is. It matters where the ball is.
@@ronaldmead7643 to expand a little upon @alan hess, it is the location of the ball when the ball is touched by a defensive player that makes it fair or foul.
Putting your watermark on top of other people's content is an extra kind of lame many can only aspire to.
Diaz should have been out for interference
Given this video I'd say first MLB games are full of rusty players.
Video was great until the end. That outro was so loud! Dislike 👎
BS thumbnail.
IF ITS OUTSIDE THE LINE AND TOUCHES THE DIRT BEFORE THE BASE ITS FOUL BALL
But if it rolls in to play before the base, it's fair.
A ball can’t be ruled fair or foul until it either stops moving, is touched, or passes first or third base. So a moving ball between home and the bases could go either way. It does not matter that it touches the ground.
You are totally, completely, absolutely wrong.
Great vid, then you slaughter headphone users with that outro. Instant dislike. Fix it!
No one cares deel with it
Baby
No need for dislike😂
I agree. Do better.
Why you gotta be so mean
Bro, level your damn audio, holy hell.
Ffs bro FIX YOUR OUTRO AUDIO!
