    Great video, thanks Ali. I’ve seen the step drill and heard people talk about starting the weight shift before the top of the swing but it was all a bit vague for me. Simply giving the reference point of hands at chest height has really opened this drill up for me and it now makes more sense. I’ll be trying it on the range tonight.

    Invaluable advice. Really enjoyed the video together with the technical analysis of weight distribution during the swing. That's crucial; The sound of the club striking the ball gives a good indication how well its hit. Mega 👍🏼 & appreciate all your efforts to try and get us all to play better golf.
    Would like to see a video on club grip, setup, body alignment to hit... (a) draw (b) fade & (c) straight.
    Thanks

    It seems like the drills I do with the Orange Whip help with this early weight shift. But this video really cements the thought. I always think weight forward on the swing but not as much about the timing of starting it. I probably usually start late. Great video!

    This sounds like a good tip Ali and I'm certainly going to try It because my problem is transfer my weight on my left foot at impact.

    Hi Ali.
    Just wondering if you do the weight shift for driver too? Or do you keep the weight more towards the back foot?
    Thanks for the vids, always great info!

      Still shift but upper body stays slightly back with driver

      Played a game with this move yesterday. Felt great. Was striking it beautifully, and getting way more distance off the tee.
      Great content mate, thanks again.

    I like the drill, not sure I will do the drill on the course. Playing tomorrow. Will do the drill as a warm up. Can you do this swing for driver. I'm not hitting my rescue club at all. It's a ping 425. Which went OK for about a month, now I just slice it. A video on rescue club would be appreciated. John from new zealand.

    I wish l can do exactky as you demo. Would pushing off the right foot toward the target while the club is still on the top seconds before coming down achieve the same result? Maybe not for Driver, wood, and long iron.

    This reminds me a little bit of the stack & tilt swing….where you keep a little bit more weight on your left foot through out the swing……Mike Weir used that swing …. Thank you for this great tip…...cheers !

    • @christ2906
      @christ2906 Рік тому

      No Sorry but this is not stack and tilt at all. This is just Tried and True, “don’t let your mass wander too much” momentum shift in the golfswing. But Pay Attention !!!
      This concept is the most important part of the golf swing. You will struggle with golf your whole life if you don’t get this movement!
      Ali is an absolute gem 💎 for teaching you this very concept.
      Let’s see which of you will glaze” over this video thinking it’s just “an opinion “. Or a “small thing- not to be taken seriously “. Well you’d be making a huge mistake by not understanding this noW! If you don’t get this, practice this, utilize this..? Then you’ll always be a hacker. Lol. Not to be harsh but This Concept is extremely important for the golf swing and I want to save you a couple of valuable years of struggle until you realize this for yourself.
      Ali is awesome for teaching you this
      !!!!!!!

      A little forward when the ball is on the ground, not so much with the driver

    This is a an area I struggle with...I always feel like I lose a lot of control with an early shift.. but I also feel like my swing isn't powerful enough for.my swing quality and flexibility, so going to go try this again.

    Can you make a video on how do we increase distance?

    • @goravens18
      @goravens18 Рік тому

      Choose a stronger lofted club ;-)
      I’m new to golf (1 year) and past couple of weeks made about a 20 yard increase in distance with my irons when struck well.
      Maybe 20 aspects of the golf swing, but what seemed to help increase my distance lately is working with an Orange whip (knockoff version from Amazon for 70% less than the original Orange whip). It essentially teaches you to move like Ali discussed in this video. It’s helped improve my weight shift in the golf swing sequence.
      I’ve also been doing ear to ear drills to increase wrist flexibility and help with a stronger release when whipping the club.
      Have also done some speed drills to increase my clubhead speed, adding about 3MPH.
      But this is highly personal. Given so many things involved in the golf swing, from my understanding, you need to put them all together to properly strike/compress the ball for more power and distance. weight shift, hip rotation, knee flex, club face contact, lag, a good and properly timed release, grip pressure, shaft lean, lead arm straight, trail elbow, using the ground properly, etc etc. a video on increasing distance would need 20+ parts.
      Good luck!

      Also,video your golf swing and try to determine where you’re leaking power and then work on that.

    From your lips to god's ears. I'll work on it. When I manage to do this ball is much better and lots more distance.

    Hi
    There are no magic moves, tricks etc. Everyone should just stick to basic fundamentals.
