And the footage definitely looks very cinematic 👍👍. I think you are very right that it's not just a drone you bought. It's also a platform. A platform that Sony can add a lot more too. I think that's something a lot of people are missing the point of. As you said....they can add software updates (and thus new features), accessories, gimbals, new Sony Alpha cameras, new longer lasting batteries, and so on and so forth. It seems Sony has been smart here to purposefully develop it as an open ended platform that can be added to over time to add to the overall value and usability for anyone that buys into it.
Thanks for the great review. I am a professional aerail camera op and drone pilot and have a few questions if you have the time to answer. 1. Is the pilot FPV camera HD or at least better than the inspire? 2. Does it handle better then an inspire? 3. Is it possible to customize the stick configurations on the camera operators transmitter? 4. Do the transmitters have HDMI or SDI so a signal can be run to video village? I have been working with the Inspire 2 and Alta X and this is definitely an interesting platform. Thanks!!
Hey Calen! Thanks for watching - here are the answers to your questions: 1) The FPV camera is HD and is on par with the Inspire 2 2) Yes, the control of the main craft is much more nimble and on the point compared to the inspire series. Once you get your gimbal controls set it's like butter! 3) Yes, you can control the stick configurations for each operator (and customize for either the pilot, cam op or both) 4) Yes, there is a full-sized HDMI out connector that you can stream to a monitor if you choose. That being said, Sony is still working on the transmission range/quality of the craft so while it works, it still needs refinement. This platform definitely falls smack dab in the middle of the Inspire 2 and a M600Pro or Alta 6/8.
@@District7DrewGeraci Thanks for getting back to me! I work on a lot of car commercials and one of your biggest issues is the FPV camera on the inspire 2. Its such poor quality and an improvement here would allow us to fly much more aggressively and safely. I would love to see an in-depth comparison between this plate form and the inspire 2 plate form! Looking forward to watch more content!
Yeah, that was a typo - It's the f1.8GM. It's because I use the same graphic template and forgot to change the 4 (from the 24 1.4) to an 8. Thanks for catching it!
I have no idea, haha. I know that Europe has a ton of new rules but I don't know how that translates to aerial operations with the AirPeak. You'd have to check out your country's airspace rules.
Again, they're using eco-friendly batteries with 1/2 the mAh power that could go into them. You WILL see 3rd party vendors making larger battery capacities in the near future so I wouldn't get hung up on that aspect. 10 minutes is MORE than enough to complete plenty of shots/scenes.
AMAZING! GREAT WORK ON THIS DREW. Thanks for making this. Can't wait to see the final!
Thanks Lemar! The final video is going to look soooooo good.
I bought the Combo. Love it to death, especially the tilt and pan and fly path!
Thanls for the breakdown this thing looks like a beast!
Thanks for watching Andy!
@@District7DrewGeraci I like to watch time-lapse woman videos.

Amazing footage.
Dang! Incredibly well done video, Drew!
Thanks, Tom!
Thanks Drew, enjoyed some unbiased thoughts from one of my favorite creators
Always appreciate your comments Andy! :)

Great video and breakdown of the Airpeak 😃. You are right that too many videos about the Airpeak are people who have never even used one.
Thanks! And yeah, it's hard to review something you've never used! Not sure why people do that.
@@District7DrewGeraci I know right? I don't get it either.
Well done Drew !!
Thanks, Dave!!
That is beastly 🔥
Oh it is! Just wait for the finished video that will release soon! :)
WOW 👑 SONY GOD FOREVER#1 ✌️ 👑
great job bud
Thanks, Craig!

12:04 14mm 1/1.4 lens? F1.8 is lightest avaiable at this moment for Sony FE 14mm lens

What are you using for ND on the 14mm?
Haida internal lens filters - they're great!
Great shots, but only displaying at 480 even after tweaking UA-cam settings
Can we pull focus ? It's a deal breaker for me .
Nope, not currently.
There should be a firmware coming out in the near future that covers that.
@@District7DrewGeraci thanks a lot .
And do you know when the firmware update can be available?
@@Thetiruguy no clue. I'd hope by summer or fall!
@@District7DrewGeraci thanks a lot
Really nice, but the big question is, this drone respect all the new laws in Europe???

Let me just say it out loud. Nine. Minutes. Of battery life. Yeah.
10 minutes battery life? This is a joke.

MTC has better specs and half the price. Better canopy design and more options.
