Spare me the, "Bro you need to own something to have an opinion on it!" comments. These are all facts about the Airpeak, if you want to believe something else go for it! :)
Agree… just returned mine. It blows. Do not buy unless you want to return to the jello days and 200’ range. Any key features listed are absolute lies. Vaporware. Can’t say I’m surprised. I love my sony cameras and have been loyal for 10 years but the second someone steps up and makes a less glitchy and more capable alternative, I’m leaving and never looking back… wonder who that will be?…. (DJI obviously. Sorry Sony. Being a dinosaur was only cool in step brothers)
Except it hasn't turned out to be a disaster in terms of it's selling. And it is receiving new accessories and regular software updates. So it may be a "disaster" in terms of your opinion, but it seems to be fairly successful for the very first drone ever made by a company. It's certainly more successful than GoPro's attempt at a drone.
$15,000 fee to beta test. lol. Thank you Drew. :( This is Sony's first time, I hope they put in the work to fix all of these issues; if so it could still be a great drone.
That was another thought I had. How can Sony not have had more people test the Airpeak? Especially since it's their first go round with drones. To make the initial buyers do the testing for them is ridiculous.
Thank you, finally somebody with honest opinion. It's a shame a lot of guys got paid to say it's cool but they actually never posted lengthy comparisons nor raw footage.
Bro lmao I went through two of these from BH nothing but problems. Legit couldn't even get it to work, huge vibration issues that I have video proof of. After two weeks if drama with Sony support and them wanting me to send it across the country I just sent it back to BH. Interestingly enough I posted a lengthy review about it on their website and they never put it up.... strange.
Dang man sorry about your troubles! I had high hopes too! That's why I made the video, to report the facts about the system. Thanks for checking out my video anyway!
Yep IBIS has ben an issue for me since purchasing the Alta 6 from Freefly ... We worked out the jello is from the pitch of the props and the vibration frequency .. Ill wait for the Inspire 3 to land this year
Thanks Matt for your honesty as yes I had seen this Drone and got excited.. but after watching this video im not so excited anymore as its good to know about this Drone as I don't like the 10 minute flight time fully loaded it sounds ridiculous but thanks for your honesty
I just read that the S1 exists yesterday and even I looked at the battery life and said "eww" it is a capable looking platform but that battery life just doesn't work. Not when people are accustomed to a half hour of real flight time, or even more. 22 minutes without a camera...I said "who is going to fly it without a camera?"
Yeah everyone kept saying firmware updates were going to fix everything, but I just watched recent footage from a guy that has had the S1 since launch and his video footage still had terrible wobble. Just get a DJI.
@@mattcarlson12 Firmware updates can make a big difference but you can't add watt hours with an OTA update. The battery is just too small and you KNOW it's too small if you have to advertise "without camera" flight times.
What sony should have honestly done is what dji did, just enable the drone to take sony lenese and not having to have a whle camera body on there. It was studpidly expensive and cumbersome.
Yea I didn’t have to do much research to realize they messed up. I wouldn’t have been buying this anytime soon but that’s just a bummer… but hey leaves more room for another one to come out
WOW !!!! Just more living proof that YT’s brand ambassadors are just PAID & FULL OF IT !!!!! .. More reason why you need to wait at least 1 full year & then do extensive R&D & look HARD for people like yourself to find the actual TRUTH. What a total disaster for consumers. Stick with DJI… they have the track record & proof of annual improvement.
So disappointed. Thanks for the info. No way I'm going to be the guniea pig on this thing. I've been burnt on too many other drones (like the Mavic 3, for instance). You reckon the Astro will be any better? It's so sad that I used to get better images 10 years ago flying Cinestar 8s than I do today flying Inspire 2s. They call that progress, I suppose.
Saw my first Review of the Airpeak befors i saw this video and they didnt mention any of these problems, he had a Guy that worked with Sony Airpeak with him so i guess the Reviewer wanted to be in good standing with Sony. Not watching him anymore
UA-cam is a difficult place to know if you are getting an honest, unbiased review or just an "ambassador" telling you one side of the story. There are some positives with the Airpeak, but the negatives are concerning and need to be discussed. Especially for that price.

Nice airframe. That’s it! They will never fix the software. Just look at image edge and PlayMemories!

Not sponsored or an ambassador. I also hate that companies pay off UA-camrs for "reviews."

Not all Sony Alpha's have IBIS. None of the first generation Sony's have it.

It looks like something a hobbyist would have built 10 years ago.
Yeah this is terrible. I want to get the A1 in the air so bad and hope there’s a solution soon.
Don’t put anything on here you’d mind losing
You saved me from buying this thanks, bro!
Currently sony is using some eco friendly batteries, the batteries can be changed so there will be better batteries on the market.

Of course Sony is aware of these problems, so they launched an upgraded version of the kit, which solves exactly the three problems you mentioned.
Not really
Oh snap nap town my home town! Haha
Yes it’s a scary experience for sure I’ll be posting my airpeak review video soon!
Can't wait to watch it fellow Hoosier! 🙌

I agree. I had such high hopes for the Airpeak being a Sony shooter. Hopefully the next version will fix the biggest issues!
Thanks for the heads up
inspire for fancy, airpeak for professional
Excellent review 😊
Do you own THE Airpeak?

It is a shame it is such a bust
