Having quests with no markers makes quests feel like real adventures. You cant just skip dialogue, you actually have to listen to the npcs, otherwise you wont know what to do. You have to listen for names, people, & places and come up with conclusions like an actual explorer. I don't think this type of mentally strenuous quest design will suit everyone but for me it's peak immersion.
That’s also why I like Fromsoftware games because they also don’t hold your hand with quests
@@KaIe_FromSoft games are much more straight forward than Dragon's Dogma though. Mostly linear and a very obvious direction to go. Even Elden Ring has more to guide the player than DD with it's sites of grace that point towards the next one.
It'll be fine as long as it doesnt do things like Elden Ring. Great game.. dogshit quest experience.
@@zinzi571 If you don't pay attention to the NPC dialogue when you get a quest, sometimes it's hard to know where to go to even complete it and there's nothing that tells you or shows you where to go.
A leaker told there will be some quests with markers and its not like they marketed it. But I'm fine with it.

A game that I basically never used fast travel in was Cyberpunk. Because there was so much to look at along the way and riding a car or bike to the destination felt so alive and does so even more now.
Haven't tried Cyperpunk yet, but when I played Spiderman PS4 I rarely fast traveled because web swinging was so fast and fun.
Yeah same, I only fast traveled when the destination was way too far or whenever I was in a hurry

already bought the deluxe edition. played the first one on launch day and it became one of my favorite games. so if dd2 is more of the same, im going to fall in love with the game all over again.
yeah i got those 2 videos, the leak was actually a good thing lol it just made people want the game more, it showed the decent enough performance on ps5, which capcom's marketing just didnt do the game justice. The dude didn't know how to play either so he didn't spoil anything aside from lore lmao

Just played the first recently and I gotta say for a game in 2011 it still is extremely fun.
Am very ok with the dragon dogma dark arisen frame rate, I have much fun time with it , so dragon dogma 2 will be much more fun for me , am very excited for it
It will be fine. People always complain when a game announces its FR around 30. Your eyes will adjust just fine after some play time. It is what it is.
@@inthebeginning4751 If the 30fps is smooth(which it won't be since it is uncapped) it would be fine but it's not and won't be until they patch in a capped frame rate later.

This will be way better than any Bethesda game ever made...
That is not so hard considering Skyrim has trash combat , pathetic story with almost no cutscenes and graphics is nothing amazing. Yeah it was great for its time but game is so much outdated now while for comparison Witcher 3 is still better than 99 % games that came out today.

@@inthebeginning4751 the gameplay is intentionally choppy at times anyways. When you strike an enemy the entire game freezes for like a millisecond to make it feel like an impact. 30 fps almost would aid the smoothness of that feature
my expectations are in fact in check. I have them set absolutely low and am not expecting any more than just a decently fun experience.

In DD1 deer, hogs and rabbits were small animals that had parts in missions and supplies. Something nobody has mentioned yet that could be a part in the DD2 game. In one everything mattered!

I never played the first game, but I want to know what I should be expecting if I play it? What’s the gameplay like?
Insane, satisfying fast paced combat, you can climb on bigger enemies. The pawn (companion) AI is actually pretty smart. You get a huge sense of adventure. Things get more dangerous and excessively dark at night forcing you to use your lantern to survive. You can take augments (perks) from other vocations (classes) and use them with the current vocation you're playing as. You can combine items to make new items. Huge open world that forces you to explore rather than fast travel. It's totally worth it. I personally like it alot more than any Elder Scrolls, Monster Hunter, or Souls games. It's got a splash of each game within it. Those other games are fun in their own right, but Dragon's Dogma is its own entity and is very unique. It's quite fun, and very good at being a video game. It also has some awesome endgame content to where the story completely changes when you start endgame. The whole game world changes.

It's very easy for people to expect a Dark Souls-like experience. Don't expect anything like that at all, go in with an open mind, learn the game, learn the systems, pay attention to what NPCs say and you'll have a good time.

I hope there is a carriage system that will atleast allow you to go from city to city or village to village

First time playing DD. First time playing an RPG actually. Already made the whole fellowship of the ring in character creator, preordered the deluxe edition, and took Friday off work to play DD2.

Already preordered it and am currently playing the original to get my feel for the combat back again since it is unique. Am so excited for this sequel.

That’s what im doing, especially with elves officially in the game. Will just be a very customized human with the provided elf ears. And I’m role playing being the elf archer from black desert lands, so it makes sense I am still an outsider to them.

07:00 It is good you mentioned about setting the right expectations. My expectations for the PC port isn't going to be high. Usually it will be poorly optimised to be patched later down the line and FPSs won't be that good. As well as denuvo that will result in lost FPS.

It's Frames Per Second (FPS). It's about how smoother will be the animations in a videogame. Is a very important aspect in competitive games, such as Shooting and Fighting videogames (wich 60 FPS is the standard). But that isn't as much as important in single player videogames.
Obviously, people usually buy an expensive PC gamer to play all their videogames in 60 FPS, so they get angry when a videogame doesn't reach that Frame Rate (like this game, which it will capped at 30 FPS)
It goes below 30fps on consoles unlocked. No option for performance mode

I waited over 10 years for this so I bought it for sure. Plus people love to confuse Japanese games with western games this isnt Activision Blizzard where they dont care about the product.
For all the people that have played DD there is no way the second one could fail so full support to the Devs. I do feel The first one was massively underrated but the world loves underdog stories. 30 fps/no multiplayer/ one save slot mean nothing for everyone that’s been waiting 12 years

All I want to know is if they're lying about there not being any other classes and keeping their cards close to their chest. I find it unfortunate that combos of warrior/rogue or rogue/rogue don't appear to be options.

10 is a lot. All weapons behave completely different similar to how monster hunter works. MH has 13 or 14 weapon types, more than enough.@@RaulMartinez-vf1hr

you need to go PC if you want a lot of performance options. 144FPS 1080p was my personal standard for years... and by that I mean almost 8 or 9 years ago since I switched to PC because the PS4 was a bit of a dud back then. 1080p 144fps or even 1440p 144fps is pretty cheap nowadays, you don't need an RTX 4090@@Lord_of_the_toast

A week early leak of gameplay footage actually isn't that bad unless the game had something massive to hide(like Forspoken did). AFAIK, DD2 did not have anything to hide so a leak this close to launch wouldn't influence me.

Walking every were is boring and when you have stuff to do before getting to your goal....do you actually get there before it gets dark....in DD-1 you do not get there in time.

I loved the first game so I pre ordered dragons dogma 2 on steam instead of playing on console because I still don't think ps5 or Xbox is a 4k console since aps5 is comparable to a 2070 so technically it's a 1440p console but they say it's a 4k console just to charge more and btw I do own a ps5 and a Xbox series x and a PC ofc

I'm definitely waiting for the performance reviews before I decide which version of the game to buy. I have a PS5 and a lower-midrange PC (3070, 5600x, 32gb 3600mhz cl16), so I want to know how I can expect them both to perform.
I would rather play a game like this on my downstairs TV to be honest, but I realise my PC is still quite a bit faster than a PS5, even though it was last upgraded almost 4 years ago. I'd likely get it on PC if I can run the game at around 60fps1440p with some minor upscaling. unlocked FPS with a target of ~30fps does not sound like a good time on console, and I can see many dips and potential stuttering if other PS5/XSX games are anything to go by.

I'm not going to buy the game until there is a performance option on the ps5. I really want this game but not if it plays at 30fps. I should've invested my money on a gaming pc. Consoles get old very quickly.
I would have had a pc by now if I had more space in the home for a setup (kids robbed my extra rooms lol) and if it fit the current budget. Nowadays I usually have to wait for a sale...But yeah, I agree. Not having a performance option for 60 in 2024 is kinda wild tbh.

Does the „uncapped fps, targeting 30 fps“ mean, that it can in fact go higher than 30 fps? Or is it more or less locked around 30 fps for consoles?
Uncapped means it isn't locked. It can go above.
