Nice find on the Costello 45. It still blows my mind that you can listen to all of this music. When I’m home I’m lucky to listen to 3 albums a day. So much to listen to.
Sometimes I don't spin the whole album, and I stream a lot in the car from the various LP's that I get.. and I can't get to all of them. but I know where they are when I am ready to listen to something in particular, I do !! ✌️
Eventually I will be selling.. right now it's way too much fun to finally fill the holes in my collection.. and have the kind of collection I always wanted ! 👍

" Win This Record" from 1982 or so is another good one ! It has an orange fun cover, and is as good as El Rayo X.. I think ? I like that Lindley and Jackson Browne LP from 2011 ? or so, as well ! 🎅

Hi JT, I haven’t seen that 60’s Bee Gees Idea album before. Love the Klaus cover art, looks great. The Kingsman album is really interesting. They chose some excellent songs to cover. I liked you comments on Louie Louie. That song was a constant in The Kinks live set throughout the 60’s, great song. It’s one of our closing songs in my Kinks tribute band. Elvis white label……wow, great great pick up. Olivia, Stevie and Sheena three beautiful ladies. Mike
Dan from Stoners Stashbox reminded me that Elvis 7 inch is from " Armed Forces" full length ! I have it, and checked.. have two now ! Interesting about " Louie Louie".. Richard Barry never saw any money for songwriting royalties until the 1980's ! My Brave Soldier is exceptional ! I will comment via e mail.. Thanks Mike ! 🎵

Alot of good finds. Looks like a cool doo wop album. I agree with you about listening to different genres. I try different stuff all the time. That's one of the best things about collecting records, I'm sure I wouldn't even know about alot of different types of music if I didn't find a record for a buck and give it a try. Some winners and some lovers. But increasing musical knowledge.
That's exactly right ! I learn a lot.. like the 80's Pop singles I picked up ! They are really fun, and positive. and more enjoyable now that they aren't played constantly on the radio, or TV ! Digging for records Gets me into other genres as you said as well ! Thanks for hanging in there on this video. gonna get them under 20 minutes again. Cheers ! JT

I collect old vhs also, and I like to see some of the old commercials. One that stands out is Cal Worthington and his dog spot.
As always, all over the road Jt, just the way I like it. You know how excited I get seeing Nyro albums. I just put Jerry Reed on my lookout list. Otis Gibbs has a channel you should check out, as if you need to add another channel to follow. He shares some great Jerry Reed stories, as well as interviews with other backing musicians in Nashville. Great Lindsey record, as well as too many to mention. Cheers buddy.

The Della Reese 7" ep's are awesome. Love the yellow label promo. That would have included tags for a jukebox. "Ideas" is one of my favorite pre-disco Bee Gees albums. I love the inner sleeves as well. People forget how big Salt N Pepa was. Very cool Elmore James album. She does not look happy!! I have a few Sam the Sham 45s; I didn't know you were such a fan. Good luck at Bill's!!
They do have the jukebox tags and little thumbnails, didn't show because of my monster stack of records ! Well, I remember how much I liked that single ( Sam The Sham )..when it came out on the radio, " Woolly Bully" too ! Love my Salt N Pepa single, and Jeffrey Osborne is fantastic. ✌️

I always love your vinyl finds because it is so varied, just like my taste in music. You always find great records. Yep, gotta get into Laura Nyro. I keep hearing great things about her. And here's another Bee Gees album that I've never seen before. I did have "I Started a Joke" on a single way back in my pre-teens and I also loved the b-side of that one which was "Kilburn Towers". I'm quite familiar with Vegas and Henderson as I lived south of there (in Bullhead City) for a year. We used to drive that highway that goes from Needles to Vegas all the time. It always pays off to look through those "seas of Montovani" (that's great 🤣) and "mountains of Perry Comotose". Love that Elvis Costello 7", that's cool. David Lindley is great, he has this great duet with Dwight Yoakum doing "Truckin' " on the Grateful Dead tribute album called Deadicated. That's one of the best tribute comps in my opinion. I always love Louis Armstrong, it's always good to pick up anything from him when it's in great shape like that. I ran into that Sam the Sham record just the other day and was quite excited, but when I pulled out the record, it was some Humperdinck compilation. I'm glad I looked before I bought it. Nice finds again JT!
"Deadicated" is so good.. Elvis Costello's "Ship Of Fools".. Lyle Lovett's "Friend Of The Devil" and Los Lobos doing a kick ass "Bertha" !!✌
Your gonna enjoy Laura Nyro.. try out "Lu" first, and then Eli's Comin'.. and then everything ! I had to pay 10.00 for that debut Sam The Sham at Salvation Army. they wanted 20.00, and Julie was nice enough to bring it down ! Helps to get to know the folks that work in the thrift shops !! Hell Yeah ! 🙏

His voice lends itself well to a Jerry ballad.. would like to hear him do " Stella Blue" and "It Must have Been The Roses" !! You didn't mention that Cher does a Ray Davies composition not recorded by the Kinks, "I Go To Sleep", on that album.

Hi JT. November 2022 has sure been a vintage for you ... 'Gonna Take A Miracle' is my favourite Laura Nyro album. I wish she'd recorded more with Labelle. Their voices gelled and there's such a joyous feel to the recordings ... Cher is such a legend. So naturally funny too ... Nice clean sleeve on the Kingsmen's 'Up And Away'.
I have three Kingsman records total, and that's really enough, and they are all good ! Don't have a favorite Laura Nyro, but said album really might be her best ! So.. I watched Gene interviewed on UA-cam, and he said Cher released " I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better" right before his with The Byrds. and I can't find that anywhere ! Maybe. and probably.. she recorded it. but never released it, which might have delayed his song being released.. ( It's an interview with a DJ.. and Rany Meisner. and Rick Robert's are in the video as well ) ✌️
@@jtsrecordroom3963 Yesterday I watched 'Laurel Canyon: A Place In Time', all 2hrs 30 mins on UA-cam. Have you seen it? Brilliant. Michelle Phillips mentions, at one point, being with Gene Clark and how it all kicked off with John Phillips when Gene got tickets to sit in the front row at a Mamas and Papas concert ... I'll see what I can find out about the release date for 'Feel A Whole Lot Better' and get back to you.
@@jtsrecordroom3963 I had a look at the UA-cam interview titled 'Byrds Gene Clark Home Video Of A Great Interview'. I think Gene Clark and the interviewer are getting confused between 'All I Really Want To Do' and 'I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better'. According to the Wikipedia page for Sonny and Cher's album 'All I Really Want To Do', Columbia accused Sonny Bono of secretly recording a Byrds gig and including 'All I Really Want To Do' and 'The Bells O Rhymney' on Sonny and Cher's album. Columbia rush-released the 'All I Really Want To Do' single and it entered the Top 100 in the same week as Sonny and Cher's version ... Whilst searching I found a nice one-woman band version of 'I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better' by Margot Cotten. She also does a version of 'Almost Cut My Hair'.
@@carltweed942 That's exactly right.. Gene meant "All I Really Want To Do" getting released first, and pushing back "Ill Feel A Whole Lot Better' till after Cher's debut ! Then, of course it got tossed over on the B Side.. still, everyone knew what a great great song it was, and is ! I can see Sonny digging for material for the new album that was in the works, as well. Hi JT. I still have only had success once at a thrift store, but I know that you need to put in the time. I always try and pick up Jerry Reed or David Lindley when I see them. Doo Wop compilations are always nice finds. My copy of the Bee Gees Idea is in terrible shape, so I need to find a better copy. You had a nice variety of finds.

At GoodWill got two Sonny Rollins and Getz Gilberto plus odds and ends records
Plus committed to a rare Beatles record. Going back next with a heavy wallet to purchase. He threw in some records I was already buying from him. Acting on faith but I have always come through with records he’s put up on Facebook when I visited

Haha.. yeah.. I'd say that I was inundated with everything Gene Clark for such a long time, it's always an undercurrent , for sure. I would do a greatest hits Jerry Reed, or really... any of them ! The one I showed is great, it is a comp from 1972 or so. 👍
Stream " Lu".. from Laura Nyro.. that might do it, or " Wedding Bell Blues" or " Eli's Coming".. or all of it ! Phenomenal writer, vocalist, artist. ! David Gefden was in love, and he's gay !! LoL. ! ( The Geffen doc is excellent on Netflix ). ✌️

Some interesting thrift store finds there, JT. The Elmore James is the standout though. I've been out sifting the vinyl in charity shops (in the UK) but have little to report.☹
I hear it can be difficult in the UK in general in Charity Shops, and I hear that with Car Boot sales, one has to get there bright and early ! What do you think Bruce ?
@@jtsrecordroom3963 I don't get out to car boot sales much. I know John the 6 inch pianist found some great bargains about 6 months ago. I scored some fantastic LPs and singles about 3 years ago at a charity shop round the corner from me. Other than that, just bits and pieces. Many charity shops know their prices (i.e. eBay).
@@brucevair-turnbull8082 So different here Bruce.. Records are anywhere from .25 cents to .50 cents per record, and usually 1.00 to 2.00 Dollars per record at our thrift stores.. here out west at least ! That's one reason why I do it. another reason is.. I have to !! LoL ! ✌
