Yeah, Floor is married to Hannes van Dahl, Sabaton's drummer. Floor's outro isn't on the "normal" version of the song nor on the Orchestral version of Christmas Truce - they made a separate orchestral version of the entire album (all 11 tracks) named The Symphony to End All Wars. All vocals on that is by Floor including on Christmas Truce but it's a different take on it from either (so at least three distinct versions).
The video was made by people that usually make movies. When the world shut down, movies also stopped, so they had time to do this. Joakim has said that the song is actually a waltz. When you come back to Sabaton, suggest an animated story video, try "Night Witches" or "No Bullets Fly".
Sabaton is truly great and Christmas Truce is one of their greatest. So much good music to enjoy. The fraze' We were soldiers and carried the war on our shoulders.' never fails to give me shivers. So please, more Sabaton. Another rabbithole to explore is the guy you saw as the french sodier/guitarist here, Tommy Johansson. He has recently left his position - very amicably- as lead guitarist in Sabaton, to pursue his own musical career, both as solo artist and as leader of his own power rock band Majestica. Tommy is a great vocalist, guitarist or rather multi-instrumentalist. Guitar, bass, keys, drums, accordion, banjo, harmonica, recorder and mouth harp I've seen him play and he is also a phenomenal musical arranger. He usually does the arrangments when Sabaton covers another artist, as in their rendition of Motörhead 1916, another epic video for you to check out from Sabaton. Tommy has also arranged some solo music for Floor. Tommy is very inspired by Gary Moore and have done several covers of GM on his solo channel. Other good Toomy videos are: The Winner Takes It All by ABBA The Price from Twisted Sisters She's Gone Steelheart Bohemian Rhapsody Queen And many, many others.. PS Sabaton and marching bands. Sabaton did a song about Smoking Snakes, a Brazilian unit that fought together with the allied side in the invasion of Italy during WWII. Various Brazilian forces has adapted that song for their army bands. There exists several videos on YT with Brazilian forces playing it, which you might find of interest.
Great reaction to one of my favorite Sabaton songs! Great job recognizing Floor's voice. The orchestral music playing during the credits that Floor is singing over was composed by Antti Martikainen. He is a Finnish composer who has written , recorded, and released his own epic symphonic music as well as composed music for a number of video games. When I saw them live in 2022 the acapella section was a huge crowd participation moment. Everyone was singing at the top of their lungs.
Piano intro and backing is an inverted Carol of the bells to give a sense of dread. It later flips back to the original to give hope(right at the end as the music slows for the cross and ending).
They really took their time with this one, tuning it for several years because they wanted to get it Just Right, because of how important and beautiful the story is.
Damn right, you start again with Sabaton. So happy about it. Tommy departed on good terms to do his own thing for the moment. Highly recommend checking him out if you didn't already did.😅
Thanks for the great reaction. It's great that you've found your way back to Sabaton. It's such a beautiful emotional song. I would be happy if you also check out Tommy Johansson. He has his own band Majestica or his Youtoube channel where he does amazing covers. You won't be disappointed. Tommy J. is a great musician and singer.
Fyi, the choir in the main track, the call and response soaring voices... It was not their usual (fantastic) bunch of people, they used an Italian gospel choir for this one.
Great reaction, thanks! This was the video that turned me into a Sabaton fan. You'd be surprised how many reactors stop listening 30 seconds into the credits - I always think, "Are you even awake? Use your ears!"
I add my recommendation for you to check out Tommy Johansson (the guitarist in this video), he has more musical talent than almost anyone today. I suggest, for this time of year, either "O Helga Natt" ("O Holy Night" in Swedish) or Ave Maria (epic version)! For any other time of year, any will do, they're all amazing! ❤
This is one of my favourites! Did you know that Sabaton has their own history channel, where they talk about the stuff from their songs? ua-cam.com/users/SabatonHistory As some have mentioned, Tommy is no longer with Sabaton. They parted at good terms, and Tobbe, who Tommy took over for, is comming back. I have seen them live once, and have tickets to their concert in Oslo in December 2025! Back to Tommy - he is an awsome guitarist, but has quite om other things up his sleeve as well. Hope you will check out his version of Phantom of the Opera ua-cam.com/video/QgyR-gjcNbk/v-deo.html or his band Majestica with the song Above the Sky ua-cam.com/video/yt9Ma1W_0wI/v-deo.html . He also has his own youtubechannel where he drops covers every Friday - just for fun :-)
After this happened the Russians tried to start a truce on the eastern front on Easter. The issue is Easter isn't at the same time in the Russian and the German calendars so it never happened because people thought it was a trick.😢
I hate Christmas, not only because my ancestors were in these horrible battles, but everything about it. The only accepted Christmas themed song allowed in my house is this song.
Sabaton: "We need a very good soprano singer for the end credits of our new song."
Hannes: "I have one at home."
Hey honey. Can you do a vocal cameo?
Sabaton's outros can be amazing- Floor on this and Tina Guo's work on 1916 are, for me, the high points of already great works
I think it took them 2 or 3 years for them to write this song just to make it perfect. Best Christmas song ever, true masterpiece.
This song skyrocketed up my Christmas Top 20 this year

The best thing about the video is that this situation really happened in a similar way during the first Christmas of the First World War.
The video was made by people that usually make movies. When the world shut down, movies also stopped, so they had time to do this. Joakim has said that the song is actually a waltz.
When you come back to Sabaton, suggest an animated story video, try "Night Witches" or "No Bullets Fly".
When a metalband from Sweden just comes out and drops the best and hardest hitting christmas song of the last decade.
I like it when you geek out! Enough people in UA-cam who can tell it's nice, but not that many who can tell *why* it's nice!
Thank you!

It's a great filter to see who really enjoys the music and who's only doing it for the clicks
Your face as you really noticed the outro vocals. Love it!
Hannes Van Dahl the drummer of Sabaton! Floor's husband. Yup, you recognized her beautiful vocalization during the credits. Great ear my friend.
With all the intros and cinematics as well, imagine what Oscar like movies they are able to do
🤗🍒🤘🏻 well done and The drummer of the band Hannes is Floor's husband
Incredible! Thank You!
That was super enjoyable. Thank you! ••• PEACES!!!
love Sabaton. they are so great.
The credit vocals was indeed floor ja son, Hannes' (sabatons drummer) wife.😅
Nice reaction dude, still epic track🇸🇪
Hannes hugging Chris always breaks my heart.
The budget for this musicvideo alone!
Mrs. F. van Dahl-Jansen is a good singer. She does some solo, but sings in a Finnish band too.
That she does, and doesn't even need words to sound amazing.
The amazing thing is, that this actually happend in the war 1914! The officialls on both sides forbid it for the next years to happen.
Symphonic version of this song is awesome too

I waited this suspicious look :) do you recognize this voice or not......

Think about the time signatures a bit 😂 it’s a waltz
Makes sense 😂
Nice reaction.
Thank you 😁
You should listen to Wintersun. I think you’d love them.
This happens when higher ups throw people in war that never asked for it. Put the high ranking bastards in one room and leave the rest alone.
Floor Jansen sabaton drumms married
