- In June 2023, Paul Labovitz is retiring as the Park Superintendent of Indiana Dunes National Park. Labovitz worked at the park for nine years, working for various National Park regional offices beforehand. When Labovitz arrived at the Indiana Dunes National Park, it was still named the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The name change doubled visitation at the park.
Lorelei Weimer, President of Indiana Dunes Tourism, said she appreciates Paul's, "overall disposition of partnership and willingness to work with people. The way he talks about this area, you’d never know he wasn’t from here. He’s passionate about this area.”
Congratulations on your retirement, Paul.
