  • Do you hate brushmarks on your paint projects? Today I’m sharing a brush-and-roll paint technique that helps eliminate ugly brush strokes. I’ve been seeing a lot of professional painters using this method. Even one of Nick’s trades “Tommy the Painter” offers this brush-and-roll paint technique when working on high-end doors and cabinets.
    I hope this makeover has inspired you and given you some new painting ideas for your projects.

    Beautiful! I love the bright blue.
    I’ve been looking forward to this video all week since your blog came out. Thank you so much!
    I really struggle with ugly brush strokes and streaking. especially on darker colours and am definitely going to try this!
    Thank you for being so thorough in describing your methods. Today you answered a question I’ve had about using 2 different primers on one piece; slick stick first for binding followed by a blocking primer.
    You are so talented! Your blog and videos are excellent!

    i use those cabinet rollers at work here and there. they give a super good finish. really no reason to back roll them though. just load up the roller with paint and roll it like regular

    I don’t spray for a couple of reasons. I started using this method several months ago and I am very pleased with the outcome. I use the whizz rollers and also the staalmeester. Maybe my eyes are bad but the texture you show with the magnified lens is exaggerated with the magnification. I can not see that kind of texture on my pieces. It is important to put thin sheer coats. At least that is what I do. I also use very little pressure as I roll the paint off.

      @SalvagedInspirations  Рік тому

      These are great tips Shelley! And I'm going to see if I can find the whizz and staalmeester rollers! I can't wait to try! And yes, the texture I was showing IS magnified with the camera :)

    I always see brush marks no matter how much I sand in between coats. I will definitely try this method. I'm very excited to try. I have 2 pieces I'm getting ready to work on. What do you think of Fusion paint. My first time trying it.😅

    great videos! thanks for sharing. question-what about brushing on your primer instead of spraying? i am concerned that i will ruin the sprayer by using the shellac in the sprayer, but will i get brush marks that wont come out? thanks,

    • @SalvagedInspirations
      @SalvagedInspirations  10 місяців тому

      The primer sprays beautifully but I don't like the clean-up so I much prefer to roll it on. When I give it a light sanding between coats, I've never had an issue with brush or roller marks.
