    Just rode this trail today and holy smokes was that BTE trail epic! I’d argue it was better than any trail at slaughter easily. The park has improved as well they added for trails and have detailed bike trail maps at the bottom and at the hub where all those trails meet.

    I watched your video on researching for my Bentonville Trip. I just went mid-March and it looks so much different than when you were there. In your video, it is a lush green forest. When I was there it was so open and dead lol. One complaint I have about this trail system is the signage. I see in your video, it wasn't marked like it is now. There are nice signs put up now that label the trails but the trail direction wasn't indicated. The black trails clearly have a preferred direction to be ridden. I started climbing up Coyote Cave and realized I had to have been going the wrong way. When I made it to the top at that trail hub I wanted to do "Best Trail Ever" and ended up going left. I rode the whole trail backward until that spot @3:25. Then I knew..... I f-ed up. @patsmage climbed that whole sectino. I drug my bike all the way to the top just so I could at least get that sick downhill section. I continued riding the correct direction from there and go back the way I came. I had to miss some of the beginning features because of it. I eventually hit Coyotee cave the correct way and wowzers that trail is wild. I did the big rock roll that you commented on @6:43. That thing..... is scary. GOPRO effect totally kills the scary aspect of this feature. The one that scared me even more, is the one @7:02. Yes you can roll right through the main part of it like you did, but there is also an A Line. I saw @patsmage ride up and down that with so much style. You can stay far right. You ride up a skinny ledge and then kick up and over to drop in on a very off-camber wall that is probably 8ft high. I wanted it bad and looked at it for 20 minutes before I had to walk away. The buzzards flying overhead freaked me out. LOL.

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  4 роки тому

      Pat Smage is really skilled! Far more than me, haha! The trails are no limited to one direction, but yeah, there typically is a better way to ride them. I usually look at Trailforks to see which direction is downhill.

      5 hour drive. Not a bad distance for a weekend trip!

    Great video, except you didn’t show the big drops on the best trail ever? We rode there Monday great trails, appreciate all the hard work that went in to building them!

      Were there big drops on Best Trail Ever? I don't remember any, or maybe I just didn't pay close attention to them, cuz I went around. I still have to work my way up to bigger drops, plus I just came back from a broken wrist 1 month ago, so I'm keeping my risks low right now!

    How's that wrist ?

      @huntstyle  6 років тому +1

      Getting better every week! Really just soreness around the thumb after riding, but in the long-term riding improves it. Oh yeah, and the crash on this ride left a bruise, but that's improving rapidly.

      Huntstyle - this crash turned out to be in a different spot ? Where!
      We just need to figure out how to replace our fragile bones with Adamantium...

      Sure do! It's awfully close to the fracture, actually. But thankfully it was a slow fall into soft dirt! Also wearing Fox Ranger Gel gloves, though the padding doesn't really extend far enough down toward the wrist.

    Nope. Not enough elevation and slippery rocks on corners. Who ever built that.....
