And with grace. She passed away on the same day as former UK PM Margaret Thatcher, so like Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson's death overshadowed FF's death.
I remember on Entertainment Tonight Annette was sitting with her husband Glenn and she began crying saying she wanted to sing again that was so sad. 😭💔
Tears run down my face when I seen Annette in this way. I had such a crush on her since elementry school. I remember coming home from school and couldn't wait to turn on tv and she'd come on the Mickey Mouse Club and wait for her to come on tv and say, "Annette" and smile. I would just melt away. I felt she was speaking to just me. She was my favorite Mouseketter.
My mother made sure we knew her growing up and it was such a pleasure to watch this story again. My grandmother was diagnosed around the same time and I've always felt a special bond to Annette's story
It was amazing that she did not stop working because she spoke differently because of her MS. She was such a wonderful person, and she always presented the best of herself to the world.
It’s sad to see Disney becoming a byword for heartless cashgrabs and creatively bankrupt productions. Not to mention their reputation for churning out troubled and exploited child stars these days. It’s no longer a place a living family would let their kid get a start. Disney himself was a true genius and cared about not ruining the spirits of his vulnerable employees. Them days are gone.
She was such a sweet woman. I remember when I saw her one of the many times in Bakersfield. I had been diagnosed with RA and feeling sorry for myself. She was wheelchair bound and radiant. She was my favorite Mouseketeer and an encourager as a young woman with an unknown disease. I went the day she died but knew she was dancing again!!! Blessings for those who struggle, debby
She was also our favorite mouseketeer. I was born an raised in Bakersfield, And Glen Holt was my uncle Kenny's uncle. I don't remember ever just seeing her
I grew up with Annette and the MMClub . As a teenage I wanted to be her. She was an incredible, beautiful spirit who raditated love, kindness and femininity. It broke my heart that she was ravaged by this heartless , tragic disease. Thank God her husband stood by her to the very end. There are angels among us.
Loved Annette and Frankie in the Beach Movies she had the most loving and caring 2nd husband who took such great care of her when she had MS she is deeply madly and truly missed and loved ❤❤❤ RIP Annette Sweet "Musketeer"
She was so lovely it was so sad she had MS but she certainly brought attention to the illness and she managed to live a full wonderful life and touched so many people!
My girls and I have always loved Annette ! We have a lot of her movies and think she always showed grace and courage throughout her life and will always be a wonderful role model for women everywhere!! May God bless her family!
This movie has changed my life and the Funicello family has 5 people and my favorite part is when Annette Funicello found out that Walt Disney passed away in the 1960's and I think she was pretty upset about it and she called him uncle Walt
I didn't know Annette Funicello nearly as well as all others. She was already a young woman on the Beach shows when I got a good look at her. I wasn't a fan yet cause I was too young. But as years passed by I hear about her now and then. I saw the reruns of the Mickey Mouse Club back in the mid 70's. Then I came to know who she was. She was so pretty. I used to think that she would marry Frankie Avalon. They seemed perfect together. Then I got word of her being diagnosed with MS. I was sad. Especially how it messed her up so bad. I thought we still love her anyway. She comes to mind every now and then. RIP miss Funicello.
This is based on Annette Funicello's life and her story was perfect in the beginning and she went through a lot and I think the movie was phenomenal and she knew what her family wanted to do is travel to California and her parents and herself and her brother live in new surroundings in the west coast
I remember growing up and watching Annette on the Moseketeers show at 14 yrs of age .She was the perfect example of wholesome beauty that we all loved and admired.
I remember watching the musketeers. Annette stood out. She was pretty and sweet and that sweetness seem to never leave her. She was grounded. I saw her when she was at her worst and it was so sad. This beautiful, sweet woman reduced to that. But God sees and knows everything and He provided a great helpmate in her wonderful husband, Glen. He stayed with her and took care of her until her death.
A Dear High School friend of mine suffered MS for over 30 years with such love in her heart for all she encountered. She was So Brave, I'm so grateful for having known her
As a fan of Stargate SG-1, it's sweet to see Don Davis, the actor who played General Hammond, in such a different part as Glen, Annette's second husband!
Thank you for sharing this remarkable story. I feel Annette was right on one account: when you see someone else using disability aids, you don't feel so embarrassed. I have Friedreich's Ataxia. It's a form of muscular dystrophy. I use a walker & don't feel ashamed to use it. I may or may not eventually be wheelchair bound, but no matter what, I will try to do everything with a smile, just like Annette did during her brave MS battle. God Bless You & stay safe.
Women particularly, hide it all, sicknesses, rape, the violence. I hid everything. Ashamed. Why its only OK if you are famous, that l not understand...
Amazing and wonderful movie about Annette.I remember seeing her on the Mickey Mouse Club when I was a kid, one of my favorite shows.Annette was a very brave person to have MS and do all that she did. Thanks to all the people involved in helping Annette make such a great movie,I enjoyed it.
Her kindness and her sweetness were a normal part of her. I remember loving her in the Mickey Mouse Club. I was only small and I loved the littlest girl had my name. Annette will always be missed. RIP.❤
When I was growing up I loved watching the Mickey Mouse Club and the Beach Party movie. Every summer they would have beach movies on TV including some of Elvis' movies like Clam Bake.
Annette was a perfect girl outside and in. Beautiful and a heart of gold. Wish I could have met her. I was born in 69 and saw her in reruns of the MMC. Always had a crush on her. Bless her.
She will always be remembered, because she was kind, and had a beautiful character that could only be because I believe she had she had faith in her creator. We shall see you someday in Heaven & the new Earth. She was blessed. Amen!
Annette was married to my uncle by marriage uncle Glen Holt. I never got a chance to meet her, but my aunt did of course, and I heard she new about us through pictures and stuff.
Disney's wife had marvellous morals. Her moral standards, were his. Later the Disney brand lost its purity which was so respected. High standards can be easily lost.. he would never have accepted today's film standards, especially his wife. 🇬🇧 47:58
Yes- it is pure craziness that Disney went woke! Annette and Walt were exactly the opposite in every way to the current sorry leftest ‘Disney Corporations’ 😢
My husband worked at Disneyland and met Walt Disney. He always said that the innocence died with mister Disney and the pixey dust died when the last of the Disney family was run out of the company.

I wasn’t born until 1972, but I watched The Mickey Mouse Club in reruns after I got home from kindergarten. That’s how I learned that shows in syndication don’t follow the same pattern as first-run. I remember the Skippy commercials, too. She was my favorite Mouseketeer!
I never knew any of this. I grew up in the bush with no power and so no TV. Sometimes we would milk the cows early and go to grandmas and that is when I saw Annette in the Mickey mouse club. She was my hero. May she RIP. She helped so many who alsio had MS by the sound of it. May she RIP. Condolences to family
I went to school with a woman from fourth grade through graduation who was named Annette after her. I remember the Skippy Peanut Butter commercials. My mom liked Annette too. Loved the professionalism, values, & high moral of Disney! Walt was concerned about Family values & serving the public.

I don’t think it’s that way anymore.
It's absolutely terrible what has happened to Disney. You can't let your kids watch it anymore

Most people who knew Walt as a colleague, a friend, or was a family member of his usually called "Uncle Walt." 🙂
Walt"s death at age 65 in Dec. 1966 was due to cancer. He was a heavy smoker.

The real Annette! She was so strong to do that while being ill!
What I love the most is that she loved her "Good Girl" image from Disney. Many who started at Disney end up trying to destroy that Good Girl image.
