When Calls the Heart's Ben Rosenbaum

Attention Hearties! And especially Hickies! Yes, this week's episode of brioux.tv: the podcast features Ben Rosenbaum. For over a decade, he's played Mike Hickam on When Calls the Heart, the longest-running series on both Hallmark and Super Channel.
With Season 11 winding down, WCTH has already been renewed for a 12th season. Born and raised in the States, Rosenbaum has enjoyed his decade-long run working on the show in British Columbia so much he applied for landed immigrant status. He looks back over the years and talks about Hickam's slow and steady romance with Mei Sou (Amanda Wong) and how his character has grown from being, to use an Andy Griffith Show comparison, the Barney Fife of Hope Valley to more of its Andy Taylor.

I've been rewatching WCTH from the beginning, and I think Ben has done a wonderful job with the development of his character.

i like him a lot. but with the exception of this picture, which is very handsome indeed, it has been hard for any of us to get a real look at his looks, without some sort of expression attached, and he has been funny for so long, but this is really nice

Hickam is one of the pillars of WCTH. He is absolutely necessary to the show. I hope his and Mei's roles will be fleshed out in the coming seasons. We would like to see new facets of Hickam. I am definitely a Hickie!

I wish the interviewer would have asked Ben more about himself instead of asking about everyone in the cast. I love Ben!

Poor Ben - almost every question is a yes/no - (“right?”) - not a very good interviewer. Nonetheless an interesting listen.

well any connection he and erin have was purposely avoided in the interview, but we have been told that they are officially married, but neither one of them ever mention it, nor do any of the podcasts or interviews with anyone, so seems it is hush hush, and we don't really know one way or the other.
