    wow--oil filter should be more than finger tight--if you loosened the filter with just your hand it was not tight enough..

      In our experience with years and years of oil changes on many vehicles, hand tight has worked best, never leaked or cause oil pressure to drop. Once again up to the individual.

    Engine should be fairly warm to change the oil!!!

      We clarified it should not be hot. “Warm” or “cool”it is up to the individual.

      Yes it does! Plus gets you super familiar with the engine so when other stuff arrives, you have a basic concept of what to do! - especially if stuck on the side of the road :)

    If I am not mistaken diesel engines are harder on oil than gasoline engines...

      Agreed. More work is being done in diesels per cycle, the low viscosity of the 0w-40 we use can handle the higher temperatures but still diesel engine oils quickly become black with particulates, even if it were flushed really well.
