I just changed my Oil today with 10,000 miles on it, MB recommends 20,000 miles. I am little concerned about this interval, especially because of my application which is Light Duty, its my Daily Driver, maybe 20 miles per day. This is my second LOF and I wanted to do it early and have the Oil Evaluated at a Lab to see how the Oil is holding up in my application, We will see. BTW, Caterpillar sells an Oil Test Kit for $20.00, which includes a Sample Bottle/Postage to the Lab/E mailed Report. When I get the Report back, I'll be able to make an informed decision on the Mileage Interval!
just subscribed to your channel, your explanations are clear and your camera work is steady and precise, well done ,just a note on oil, esp if for the vehicles that are running the DEF systems i believe, I saw one fellow using Mobile 1 diesel truck oil for 500k miles and no issues, I disconnected the DEF system because it was costing way too much for repairs first 2 were $1500 each, def heater and nox sensors so out it came, now I get much better fuel economy and horse power went up to 244. 2014 2500 170 converted now just reached 300,000km, which is 180,000 miles, so did all my fluid changes and filter changes, added Sumo springs, shocks, struts, winter tyres, still to do, add a Hellwig sway bar, change windshield. paint the rocker panels, plastic trim, and bonnet with a bully paint bed liner black, its like a raptor paint but water based made in Australia, water base make sit easy for clean up and touch ups if needed.

@@mercedessprinterdiy8556 I have a 2016 MB Sprinter 3.0L V6 diesel, would mine safely use the same oil as in your video here? Thank you and great video...camera work and narration are both 👍.
This tutorial needs improvement. >Remove the filter first, to release more used oil to the bottom. >ALWAYS replace the washer on the drain bolt or it will leak. >Always use a torque wrench on the drain bolt (unless you're experienced enough)
On a side note, you are devaluing the vehicle by not having it serviced at a qualified mechanics, since the log books won't be filled in and there will be no record of it's regular service, plus any incidental checks, such as brakes, bushings and transmission leaks that may happen without your knowledge can lead to greater damage if not caught before a catastrophic failure. Not so much an issue on a second hand vehicle, but on a new vehicle you really want to think about devaluation and resale value. Just something to consider.
I sold a 2017 4x4 on ebay, and the lack of a $2000+ oil change stamp by a mb dealer had no bearing on my sale price. A lucid explanation along with my own documentation worked fine.

What’s the point of changing oil .
is the life of the engine is very important ,is like taking a shower everyday so you don't get fungus on your skin hope the comparison helps
What did u say u need to remove the oil filter cap. You flash something at the camera a new don’t say why it’s called
Thank you for watching and check out the links in the screw from below. I listed all the parts that I use you may find the one that you're talking about there thanks again

MS says to change the sprinter oil after 15,000 miles but after 14,000 miles your oil looks real bad. I think MB should rethink this oil change intervals.
yes i agree i do mine about 10000 to 12000 miles because 15000 is too much
2019 Mercedes Benz 3500 has no dipstick and keyless ignition so entirely different
Wow sorry to hear that they are making things more complicated
My 2020 does not have that button
Is probably the new models are different
Thank you so much bro. I really appreciated it.
Any time and thank you for watching👍👍
@@mercedessprinterdiy8556 I have a 2016 MB Sprinter 3.0L V6 diesel, would mine safely use the same oil as in your video here? Thank you and great video...camera work and narration are both 👍.
13 mm for plug on 2017….not sure on filter cap. Sucks

Thank you
You're welcome
This tutorial needs improvement.
>Remove the filter first, to release more used oil to the bottom.
>ALWAYS replace the washer on the drain bolt or it will leak.
>Always use a torque wrench on the drain bolt (unless you're experienced enough)
Thank you for your great observation👍👍
What is the drain bolt Torque ?
15k is way to many miles between oil changes imo, don't care what is says on the bottle.. :)
i change mine in 10k to be safe 👍
Not a fuel filter
my bad i made a mistake wen i called it😂😂👍👍
👍
thanks
those aren't "gaskets"...
those are "O-rings".
You got it thank you for sharing
On a side note, you are devaluing the vehicle by not having it serviced at a qualified mechanics, since the log books won't be filled in and there will be no record of it's regular service, plus any incidental checks, such as brakes, bushings and transmission leaks that may happen without your knowledge can lead to greater damage if not caught before a catastrophic failure.
Not so much an issue on a second hand vehicle, but on a new vehicle you really want to think about devaluation and resale value.
Just something to consider.
great point and i do my self inspection beneath my van and i had many vans and never had a problem selling them because i did not have a record👍
I sold a 2017 4x4 on ebay, and the lack of a $2000+ oil change stamp by a mb dealer had no bearing on my sale price. A lucid explanation along with my own documentation worked fine.
5000 max
i use my oil for 10k
You should have shown the oil level on the dip stick👎🏿
very true it was a fast video
