You might have done so, but you probably want to enable the sports related policies in the policy manager. It increases the win rate significantly so your stadiums might actually make a profit.
I was thinking the hills (or the beach) for the mansions as well. Realistically high value areas that would lend themselves well to private roads with no mass transit!
What if there was an old, defunct train line that continues straight after crossing the river. Now it’s a bike/walking trail that connects Myrtle to Bedford Square and the Stadiums?
@@Flabaliki if we use the peninsula “East” of the stadiums for a cargo port, the modern section of the rail line can pick up again, connecting to the Chester station.
There is a really good small rectangular skatepark on the workshop, it's called small skatepark. It would look great in the city. There is also a small city playground called tiny alley/playground. I use them both myself and haven't encountered any problems.
You could put mansions up in the hills where it outlooks over the city and keep the back part closer to the beach by the barracks thing open and make a national park or something. Think it could be cool
I love how urban suburban this new neighbourhood looks! Also, I live beside a dog park and I love it! I can just dogwatch the whole day- what in my books, it is pretty incredible - and not so loud, not as loud as a playground at least.
I love these long episodes, james. 09:00 for the chirper, "hide it!" 14:00 there's a mod called "historical districts," which allows you to, well, historical-ise whole districts. 44:30 there's always that one obnoxious building in an otherwise normal area irl, so I think it's realistic. 1:00:00 you could use some ivy props on the quay, so the buildings don't have a view of concrete/brick. 1:01:00 blah la la la la laaa. lol. generally, park zones are better imo, they actually generate income, and have a wide area of effect. same with industry and university zones.
Just found this series, binge watched everything until now it in 2 days. 1) I liked the idea of a very small high density area at the coast (like the one next to Bedford that was immediately destroyed). I see wierd zone rules in real life that has those harsh shifts from one type to the next. 2) Noone would object to you, using the build-in assets, like the dam. 3) Until you make the real university, maybe put in some of the old-school single building ones. Right now you rely on highly educated ppl moving in. 4) Beware of only having the current industry area - it makes everyone downtown commute through the initial area. Altho it seems manageable right now.
When you build a sunken road or railway and need a bridge over it at ground level, don't use a bridge! Instead, turn a small section of the sunken road into a tunnel. Just a tiny part right at the edge of the ground level road. It will look much nicer and you won't have a long road section of bridge on ground level which is not only ugly but also breaks the landscape on ground because bridges are supposed to be in air only.
Hey I said it under the last video. Just for the realism, the two football(soccer) fields could need some high fence or net between them. If you shoot on one goal and miss the ball lands in the other field. :) looks amazing
A tightly compacted “lower middle class” type neighborhood would be good on that island on the opposite side of the industry section. It could almost be like those neighborhoods that big industries build for their workers. You’ll get a good amount of people and workers in and it will be very realistic as well.
It would be sweet if you spend a little more time in the parks because as parks level up, new content opens up. But the city's parks are extremely empty.
Would a ferry stop by Myrtle joining the other ferry stops be useful? I’d imagine perhaps when the university is done, it could help and just look nice utilising the river.
I didn’t know Woolworth was still a thing…I remember one in Denver as a kid, but it was more like a Walgreens but without the pharmacy…maybe more like a big lots without furniture
Ah Melbourne trams.... That brings back memories. Back in 2012 I flew half way around the world to visit a friend and spent a week in Melbourne. It was a fun week.
I love that a bus runs through the sport tollbooth 😂 Maybe a small street that loops in front of the tollbooth that can drop off people and then turn around, without going through the toll?
The Eco-Friendly residential that comes with Green Cities have some cool looking apartments. If you place them manually you can mix them in. Looking good, I liked the parking at the train station, it did actually look like part of the asset 👍 Ooh what about the Content Creator quay in that height change area, there's one with stairs between the lower level and the top 👀
For the whole episode I thought about a tram line between the new rail station and the stadium - and then you put in a bus, expecting it to be really busy. Maybe a tram would be really better but running more straight than your bus is doing - with smaller circulator busses supporting it and adding coverage to the network. The new tram could interline with the old one along the dedicated tracks in stadium district - as it also connects to the train line passengers would be redirected and you need less vehicles for the (non-dedicated) downtown section of the tram network.
Thank you for this series! Literally wait all day for them at the moment. Think the city is coming along well and maybe there should be a mansion bit further along the beach from the main downtown with its own station and some beachfront ones have their own private beaches or something, just separated by nice fencing and large palm lined streets
For anyone want this game, its free in the epic games store this week only, so if you want to get it, go to epic games and download ir for free for this week only!
By the TV Station (here in the states they also do weather), you should add a Weather Radar :) I'd also look into raising prices on your tolls, and add some on the express way. How are your police departments, etc near Myrtle? Keep up the great content :) I LOVE these long episodes!
I had a look at the water/power stuff this map comes with. I kindda like it. I think you should connect it. I know you liked the challenge initially, but this point it hardly matters.
i love the hideous tall pink building on the hill, it feels like a building that they thought was a great idea in the 20s or 30s but now all the locals hate it
James: "We can have 15,000 more people before we need one more workplace" litterally the next second: "I feel like this area should be commercial" exactly my humor 😂😂🤣🤣
I think in the downtown area grass spots like under the rails @8:43 or in front of that building 'the plaza' should be more filled in concrete, instead of that default in-game ugly grass and sand... And also you're so focused on placing buildings manually , which is great, to put services like a police- / firestation in
the trains are meant to have 4 cars not 3 so if you turn off the rear cab in the vehicle options it may hold more people so you don't need to add another train
It’s very clear that you are being strangled by the fact you don’t have all tiles just unlock them all also that road at 6:04 should be a bridge onto that small island
You could add some commercial or tourism/entertainment buildings in the sports arena area. This would help keep the trams useful when games are not going on. Also, there could be more tourism/entertainment both scattered throughout the city amd in dedicated areas (large or small). I would be very bored in this town with the lack of nightclubs and fine dining. Shake Shacks are great but every once in a while I wamt something besides a burger and shake, like maybe a steak.
Have you considered using an empty platform in the train station and put a light rail track on top in stead, connecting to these neighbourhoods on the other side of the city? Would get rid of at least 1 stub end.
You should look into the realistc population mod. It should make it possible to change the number of residents in apartments to a more realistic number
James: We're losing a lot of money Me: *blinks* Uhmmm, at least you don't go bankrupt literally everytime you start a new game? this game is so hard! But i love it!
I know this is a very very minor nitpick, but it's been bugging me :D: The Stadiums district being called just "Stadium" when it can be like "The Olympic Village" or something like that :DDD.
Distrect Idea! You should build districts "inspired" by each world in the Sims 4. So maybe a beach front named Sulani, a farm area named Henford on Bagly, etc.
I should check (It's long ago that i played.), but isn't there a switch for making building historical when you place them in the options of PlopTheGrowables
We need to work on the names in this city cause the default ones are horrendous. Also You need to add pathways in this new area, there's almost none in it. Another thing you can add is churches maybe in each area. It gives the city a unique feel tbh.
I’m about 30 mins in so idk if he fixes it but people are having to walk thru the car wash on the corner to get up the hill. Maybe he fixes it by the end of vid, I just didn’t want to forget. Look forward to these every M W F!
Keep the lonely tree in the campus as an hommage
I always remember the tree from the cats & dogs lp whenever I see it, it's great.
@@thesodolan lol that was a crazy house 😂
Please base planning the campus around the lonely tree! 😂
Agreed!
James: We need 15,000 people!
Also James IMMEDIATELY after saying that: Anyway this place should be commercial.
Tip: Offices are the best noise reducer, so mix office and commercial near train stations.
You might have done so, but you probably want to enable the sports related policies in the policy manager. It increases the win rate significantly so your stadiums might actually make a profit.
Id love to see some mansions in the hills, and dedicated green housing zone somewhere.
Cool idea
@@Flabaliki if we use the peninsula “East” of the stadiums for a cargo port, the modern section of the rail line can pick up again, connecting to the Chester station.
Reminds me of the High-Line in NYC

These videos give me something to look forward to all week long!! This is my favorite city by far
Since you're keeping the High Heights name for the district, name another district "Low Lows"
Maybe for a zone on top of the hills?
Haha I love that
I love how urban suburban this new neighbourhood looks! Also, I live beside a dog park and I love it! I can just dogwatch the whole day- what in my books, it is pretty incredible - and not so loud, not as loud as a playground at least.

At like 24:15 did anyone else see that car drive through the train tracks to get to the parking spot?😂 loving these videos James!
Driver: *this is fine*
Just found this series, binge watched everything until now it in 2 days.

You should name a district on top of a hill “low lowets” and it can be the sister district to high heights!

Myrtle was also an area in the previous city. What if you call this one New Myrtle or something?
Been waiting all day! I am unhealthily obsessed with this series XD
are you ok james? give us a sign of life
Hey I said it under the last video. Just for the realism, the two football(soccer) fields could need some high fence or net between them. If you shoot on one goal and miss the ball lands in the other field.
:) looks amazing
Love how calming and easy these videos are. To possibly help with traffic, I would make many more things accessible by footpath, and by bike paths.
A tightly compacted “lower middle class” type neighborhood would be good on that island on the opposite side of the industry section. It could almost be like those neighborhoods that big industries build for their workers. You’ll get a good amount of people and workers in and it will be very realistic as well.
if you turn on dynamic lane selection in TM:PE then thay should use more lanes instead of piling into one if there are more than one to use
Loving the development of the rail infrastructure
It would be sweet if you spend a little more time in the parks because as parks level up, new content opens up. But the city's parks are extremely empty.
I am looking forward for the financial district to being built. Today’s episode was amazing!
34:39 , you need to change the phases on that timed traffic light. Traffic going to the stadiums only gets a green light for a few seconds
Would a ferry stop by Myrtle joining the other ferry stops be useful? I’d imagine perhaps when the university is done, it could help and just look nice utilising the river.
you should a massive shipping canal to go from the ocean to the steel factory. That is totally something that would be done in real life
hey james can you do first person on your train line from one side to the other to see what it looks like
I didn’t know Woolworth was still a thing…I remember one in Denver as a kid, but it was more like a Walgreens but without the pharmacy…maybe more like a big lots without furniture
it really is coming together beautifully! Also, I do enjoy timelapses a lot, always happy to see you build ^^
Ah Melbourne trams.... That brings back memories. Back in 2012 I flew half way around the world to visit a friend and spent a week in Melbourne. It was a fun week.
Just found these. First time watching this game after watching James since quarantine on Sims. This game looks amazing
I love that a bus runs through the sport tollbooth 😂 Maybe a small street that loops in front of the tollbooth that can drop off people and then turn around, without going through the toll?
Oh gosh I'm just dying to see more residential demand to be fulfilled while you keep being distracted by other stuff! Hahahaha
Your map already has a custom cargo line that heads up the river over to that industrial area.
The Eco-Friendly residential that comes with Green Cities have some cool looking apartments. If you place them manually you can mix them in. Looking good, I liked the parking at the train station, it did actually look like part of the asset 👍

Most sports things are in the medical tab
That and if you have the European theme enabled, you get a tennis court as well as the normal basketball court
It's going to look so sick when the Myrtle area is fully zoned in, all that empty space really stood out like a sore thumb.
You should add a passenger station near industry zone. It will reduce traffic.
i agree
I love this series, I missed Flabaliki's cities. Great work James!
The big car factory would look really cool in the open space between the intersections. The part where you were gonna do ”industry”.
The train going by the back of the apartment, gives me some Osaka vibes
By the TV Station (here in the states they also do weather), you should add a Weather Radar :) I'd also look into raising prices on your tolls, and add some on the express way. How are your police departments, etc near Myrtle? Keep up the great content :) I LOVE these long episodes!

I think you should connect it. I know you liked the challenge initially, but this point it hardly matters.
If you put an old town policy on the second 4lane road at 5:05 then it could balance it out in a way that works best for the cims.
James, please keep making these videos forever! I love them, its so relaxing!
Love this series aswell. Great job! Adding child & eldercare could help increase the population. Or have i just missed where you have placed them?
I wish the UK would get woolworths back. Miss going in there.
Someone should make a drinking game where you drink everytime James is looking for the tennis court or basketball court 😂
I am loving this series so much.
i love the hideous tall pink building on the hill, it feels like a building that they thought was a great idea in the 20s or 30s but now all the locals hate it
I have a cool idea for a addition, you could add a racetrack somewhere!
You need to add more corner stores around! I'd hate to walk all the way across my neighbourhood just to get milk or something
James: "We can have 15,000 more people before we need one more workplace"

i love looking at you doing lane markings, please keep those in!
Im loving that you just feed us with your content. I missed your videos during your break!
Yay! I’ve been refreshing my subs so often today waiting for a new skylines vid!
“They are supposed to give way but they just don’t care” - not just the drivers leaving Myrtle but also all drivers near me. 😂
Chirper annoys me too haha but he’s a cute little birdy at the same time.
Will you be playing software inc. Beta?
the trains are meant to have 4 cars not 3 so if you turn off the rear cab in the vehicle options it may hold more people so you don't need to add another train
When we expand we should have like a low income city with like a motel strip with diners and bars ext...
james, you forgot to place warehouses for the unique factories
It’s very clear that you are being strangled by the fact you don’t have all tiles just unlock them all also that road at 6:04 should be a bridge onto that small island
It’s a fun challenge!
super fun 2 watch, mainly i watch biffa also doing lets plays of this game but james is so much more interesting
You could add some commercial or tourism/entertainment buildings in the sports arena area. This would help keep the trams useful when games are not going on.

Should make the hill between the two dense suburbs a park and call it 'Kite Height Park' cause they'd be great hills to fly kites with a view.
We do hate that building @44:00 :D
idk if anyone has suggested this but petition to rename the sports teams from the Bowser Bay Buccaneers to the Bowser Bay Bigwallets~
You should look into the realistc population mod. It should make it possible to change the number of residents in apartments to a more realistic number
15:04 reminds me of ConflictNerd getting Park Park Industrial Park as an auto generated district name
Good vid
2nd
Can you put some petrol/gas stations? Or it fully electrical car mod?
James: We're losing a lot of money
Me: *blinks* Uhmmm, at least you don't go bankrupt literally everytime you start a new game?
this game is so hard! But i love it!
I recommend getting a mod to change the amount of households in the vanilla homes
I know this is a very very minor nitpick, but it's been bugging me :D: The Stadiums district being called just "Stadium" when it can be like "The Olympic Village" or something like that :DDD.
checkout the barges mod, it let you create cargo routes by rivers or sea, using the ferry's path. Awesome video
You should do the university soon so that you get more skilled workers in your city, which will help with the commercial and industry needs!
I feel sorry for the pedestrians who have to walk up and over that 6 stories tall bridge.
You should change the name of Bedford Square to Bedford Falls.
Distrect Idea! You should build districts "inspired" by each world in the Sims 4. So maybe a beach front named Sulani, a farm area named Henford on Bagly, etc.
18:40 definitely think that one was better as a back.
I should check (It's long ago that i played.), but isn't there a switch for making building historical when you place them in the options of PlopTheGrowables
Yep I have the on for ones I plop
14:30 that just means you don't have enough higher level buildings added in your theme
I saw Biffa use a mod to "force downgrade" on buildings he liked the look of but kept complaining about land value. Idk what it was tho!!
We need to work on the names in this city cause the default ones are horrendous.
Also You need to add pathways in this new area, there's almost none in it.
Another thing you can add is churches maybe in each area. It gives the city a unique feel tbh.
James you are such a bad influence. I've now bought another game you got me obsessed with 😂😂😂😂😂
youi should use find it to search for things more often, it’ll save you a whole bunch of time lol
I’m about 30 mins in so idk if he fixes it but people are having to walk thru the car wash on the corner to get up the hill. Maybe he fixes it by the end of vid, I just didn’t want to forget. Look forward to these every M W F!
You should get an Olive Garden off the workshop and put it by the park
Don’t worry to much about the traffic, send it to biffa!
