I'm so happy your cat pulled through. I love cats myself and it's nice to know someone like yourself didn't give up. For that you've earned a sub from the UK.
It's a huge plus and makes the high price something you can kinda digest. Thing will last for years and years. LR3 is already 10-years-old I think and they're still trucking no problem.
My brother has the LR3 and swears by it. I am planning on adopting 2 new kittens soon and he has told me multiple times simply buy the LR3 looks like ill be picking up the 4 now though.
I’ve been singing their praises for this for years. Around 2016 my brother got a used, broken, original Litter Robot “as is” with no power supply for $45… an absolute STEAL. The previous owner had already purchased and included a replacement control board which came with full color printed instructions from the manufacturer. That alone impressed me, but the real test came after identifying that the real issue was the seized motor. Would they sell us a replacement motor too, even though this early model required removing rivets? YES! My only issue then is really basic: we couldn’t find the power specs online for a replacement adapter and they weren’t printed on the unit itself. At least it was a standard power brick. Nothing proprietary. The specs are printed on the PSU… we just didn’t have one to consult. The Litter Robot fan/user that turned my brother on to the product years earlier was the obvious person to ask for power specs but after explaining what he needed and why, she just yelled at him for not spending hundreds more on a refurbished unit. She was hysterical and wouldn’t even acknowledge the basic question. On the other hand, the Litter Robot guys had treated him well so he felt they deserved full price for a factory original PSU… he’d pinched enough pennies on this one and as soon recall he was still under $100 total. Now, the only remaining concern is reliability and I’m happy to say that it’s been working well for several years, even after spending nearly a year in a storage unit without climate control after being displaced by an EF4 tornado. I was worried about that since the original failed when the previous owner supposedly kept it in a garage with wild temperature and humidity swings until it corroded. That addresses all my concerns. These people welcome DIY repairs and make every part available for a price that actually makes repair worth it. They are decently durable and work so well that he would have spent hundreds more on a refurb if he hadn’t been lucky with the cheap one he found. What a deal! Seriously though: I’ve never seen people more satisfied with an appliance than Litter Robot owners. Everyone who has ever used them thinks they are a must-have. My brother was won over when cat sitting for a crazy cat lady. One unit was enough for about 20 cats as long as he was there to occasionally empty the bag and add litter.
Anyway, mine is a real-world anecdote, completely unaffiliated and totally not sponsored… in case someone was looking for a real-world example where their repair parts saved the day.
The replacement parts is so useful, each time has an issue and wouldn't cycle(this happen rarely like once a year), I would google its problem and troubleshoot, once I recognize the problem I would order the parts and replacement it myself, so useful and it works and it saved me a lot of money instead of calling the guy who repairs LR as it is very costly vs repairing or replacing the parts yourself. As a 4+ years owner of LR3, I have learn to troubleshoot, repair, replace parts or do things I know will help improve my LR.
Never thought i'd see the day where Quinn would be hawking litter boxes but here we are. In all honest I'm glad he made a full recovery and I hope he will be with you for many MANY years to come.
"Small 1600 square foot house", that is 150 square meters! I have been living in 42 square meters for the last 4 years in Oslo...gotta love Quinn's definition of what small is :)
Yeah it caught my ear as well. I live together with my wife in a 70 m2 apartment (750 square foot) and we have all the space we need with 2 cats! Except if we had Children but even then it would be manageable.
Yes, as an Italian, I spat the water I was drinking out of my mouth as soon as I did the conversion to square meters XD 150m² is a "definitely big" house here
We use the Omega Paw Self-Cleaning Litter Box. It costs less than $50 and is essentially a manual version of the Robot type litter boxes. The regular size is too small for most cats or multiple cats, so we got the large size. To service the cat litter, you simply tilt the box and the litter goes through a grate and the solid clumps and waste fall into a tray with a handle. For a cat with normal litter needs, it needs to be tipped once or twice a day and of course only works with clumping litter. It is far superior to the rake type automatic litter boxes and is much less work than using a litter pan and scoop. We also use a diaper pail to store the waste as we empty the tray. We are fortunate in that we have a basement where Mr. Beefy goes to do his business.
Definitely going to look into that... I've only had my kittens for 2 weeks and they're still on the same absorbent/non-clumping litter from the breeder's original home for a few weeks more, but I'm already looking forward to when I can use clumping litter and reduce how often I have to dump out and change the whole lot, because it's an ordeal! I need to get a second litter box at some point too. Waste disposal (and the temporary storage thereof!) is definitely something I hadn't thought about ahead of time, and I'm looking into getting something like the Litter Genie to deal with it (and not have to empty my household bin every day), but both it and the refills are pricy here in the UK. The Litter Locker seems significantly more affordable though, so I think I'm going to at least solve one part of the problem right now!
@@EmmaVB82 We had a Litter Locker, but the bags were expensive, got jammed at times and were small. We use a Baby Trend Diaper Champ Deluxe pail, but I don't know if it's made any more. It takes regular heavy duty kitchen trash bags and has a good capacity. It also controls odors well.
I have a Litter Robot 3. I had a pinch sensor fail. They ordered me a part for free under warranty, but it surprised me that it was available as a part on their customer facing store. Their repairability for parts and repair manuals and videos makes me confident that once my warranty expires end of this year, I will always be able to keep mine running.
I have the litter robot 3. Still works perfectly after 3 years of owning it. Owning it has made a world of difference. I’ll buy the new one when this one stops working.
I've had my LR3 for over 4 years, at times issues pop up like sensors, lights blinking, stuck mid cycle etc. I used to get a person to repair for me and it $100 each time to repair, which is very costly and issues occurred once every year. Over time I read on the issues of LR3, diagnosis and have learned to repair it myself, it cost around $20 to get new parts to replace it, repair it myself. I love the LR3 for 11.5 months within a year, not so much during the 2 weeks it is down annually and need something replaced or repaired. All-in-all very satisfied with the LR3 as it helps owning a cat so much easier and I have 2 siberian cats, they are huge sized breed as well. With proper care this thing can last a very long time, I've seen LR2 owners saying theirs have last for 10 years.
Firstly, glad the fluffy one made it, they bring so much joy and having to put them down is heartbreaking. Glad you didn’t have to. Secondly, 1,600sq feet is not a small house. At all. It’s a palace compared to most houses here in the UK. I don’t often comment but just needed to clarify that, as it comes off as entitled to some of us on the other side of the pond who pay extortionate money for houses half that size. Hell with that much space you could have a room just for the litter box! Anyway, love the content, stay snazzy!
Glad you buddy is okay and improved. I know we would do anything for our pets as well. We have a small Manx cat (more like one of the dogs) I was not, but now am, a cat & dog person, but only with Manx cats. We too had to find a litter box solution and went with the Pet Safe automatic. Yeah it doesn't have an app, nor bluetooth, or weight sensors etc. but it works and has for 3 years now. Simple to change the litter and clean, and dispose and put in the new litter. Probably takes me 5m max. Glad you found something that worked out for you and your pet. Good review too.
Firstly I am so glad that your little (big) guy pulled through. I had a similar issue with litter box smell so I actually took a large litter box enclosure furniture and cut holes for PC fans and attached dual activated charcoal filters to the exhaust. It probably isn't enough for your use case but it worked a treat for my girl.
The reliance on an app does worry me in the very long term, I think I'd feel happier if they released something open source, but their committment to replacement parts seems good. Maybe if their company ever goes under open source software will be one of the last things they put out. I struggle to trust anything where the functions are locked behind an app with no alternative way of controlling them.
With both of my Litter Robot 3 units, all of the settings are able to be controlled via just the buttons in the machine; sleep timer, wait timer, etc. Mine doesn’t have app control at all, but I assume all these functions are still there in the LR4.
I’m familiar with a much older unit but I didn’t see anything to suggest that it relies on the app. Even without an app, it should have all the functionality of the previous versions… and it looks like it does.
Per one of his comments higher up, it works just fine offline via the hardware buttons, although I do agree that the functionality around historical data etc would be great to be able to do locally / open source.
Ive contemplated getting one of these for a few years. Issue is the upfront cost seems steep given I have one cat that is petrified of life so im not even convinced she would get in this thing... No physical door helps but the first time she saw it move might be the last time she ever looked at it. We ended up going with pretty litter. Its honestly great minus the fact that you do still need to clean it manually (although I do think you could probably use it in one of these boxes as well for an even better experience) It basically petrifies the waste and you just scoop it into the toilet or trashcan and off it goes. The liquid is absorbed and gets mixed in but doesnt smell until its the next time to change the litter (about 2 weeks for 2 cats or maybe 1 really big one) Its also not dusty at all. Anyways I dont know why I felt compelled to comment especially on this video because I really do watch most of your videos and dont think I have before but here we are. Have a great one!
Just fyi you shouldn’t flush cat poop down the toilet. We did it and it wreaked havoc on our pipes. The plumber told us it was the kitty poo. 😅 whoops!
This is exactly why I love reviewers: they spend all the money and time testing these products, then tell us the ones they think are the best. If I ever get a cat, I'll seriously consider getting this (or future versions of) this litter box. Never thought I would enjoy a video like this!
@@monoskier- exactly. It’s only available for preorder until 7/22. Where he has a large following and previously owned the old model this was definitely sent to him in exchange for a review.
16 Lbs in 1st year… so happy he’s doing better! This seems very appealing. We have four litter boxes now. Semi-automatic, as you just roll & empty. But way less space obviously, and fully automatic with this. I see they don’t ship till July. Also looks like 1 year warranty, with option to extend to 3, so that’s nice. Will be interested in a follow up in a couple months to see if all is still well. Oh and we also have a Maine Coon, although female, so not as big as yours. They are the sweetest cats, very loving! Thanks for the video.
I am so glad that Sully is OK. I wish my two cats would eat wet food. To explain, my Maine Coon - Leonardo, developed crystals in his bladder about 2 years ago. When symptoms first presented he was constantly trying to use his litter box and had blood in his urine. We went immediately to the vet and while they began treatment they sent him home to wait for an ultrasound. Well he blocked that night and I was able to rush him back to the vet - they inserted a catheter and a day later they operated, clearing the grit from him bladder. Leonardo started his first prescription diet. At the time it was suggested to increase his water intake, so I had fountains all over my house and tried to give him wet prescription food - which he just turned his nose up to. He prefers his dry (prescription) kibble. Fast forward a year later, the symptoms returned - blood in his urine and sometimes multiple visits to the little box. An ultrasound (New Years Eve 2021) confirmed that the crystals had returned. In the months since then we’ve battled UTIs and a slight blockage. Leonardo at almost 6 is 21 lbs - about normal for his breed. But the doctors suggested that the folds of skin around his prepuce might make him more susceptible to UTIs. Anyway the vet changed his prescription food to Royal Canin Calm (supposedly stress is a significant contributor to the crystals). A few weeks ago he must have passed a plug and there was a LOT of blood - back went the catheter until his urine was clear (and I racked up enough AMEX points for a trip). He’s home now on a steroid and anti-inflammatory and luckily no signs of a UTI. But I’m fairly certain that we will have to operate to clear those crystals. I wish he would eat wet cat food only because it provides another variable to tweak in his treatment. Good luck with Sully - he’s adorable.
OMG, so sorry about the experience your kitty went through from doxycycline. I remember when I first got my Sofie at 11 months old (then) from the shelter, she had one watery eye and the vet said she had a cold, which is likely common in the shelter setting I think. Anyway, she asked me if I wanted an antibiotic for her and I said no - if it's just a cold it's a virus why would I want an antibiotic, for bacterial infection, for a viral infection? Of course, a lot of lay people seek out antibiotics but then I think it's the job of the healthcare practitioner to point out these things to their patients. I'm so glad Sofie didn't need systemic antibiotics she got over her cold quickly.
I'm a dog person and Quinn got me to watch a litter box video without skipping or pausing. Also, they ran over my dog yesterday and I'm super sensitive to animal health right now (she's alive with skull and paw fractures). It's great that Sully pulled through.
I'm a big animal lover and so happy your kitty is alive and well! I'm more of a reptile guy, with a couple snakes and Geckos. Much easier when they poop once a month lol.
Have you discussed the food thing with a vet? Different brands of cat food make the poo smell different, and I'm not even sure how you get cat pee to smell intolerably bad, especially if using wood pellet litter, and whether the food is dry or wet shouldn't affect anything inherently since the cat should get equally hydrated either way.
I have 2 of the Litter-Robot 3 Connect I got one back in late 2019 for my 8 cats I only had a 425sf apartment in the Mt Shasta Area in CA. In June of 2020, I brought a 1300sf mobile home up in Klamath Falls, OR I got a second one. I had a few minor problems but my guys love it. at $550 for the first one and $500 for the second one, It was a deal. I also took the extended warranty too. I'll take your old Litter-Robot 3 Connect if you want to get rid of it
Although i do know someone who has a cat, i think it would be a waste of time looking into getting one of these for them 1, they do not use a covered litter box as previous cats that they had would refuse to use a covered litter box (i suspect it was likely due to the smell) 2, is that there are not many places in her house where she would be able to put it, and the bathroom would not be an option due to regulations where i live, which essentially make it impossible to have electrical outlets in most bathrooms (The current regulations here require electrical outlets to be 2.5 meters from the edge of the bath or shower (in the case of showers, it would be 2.5 meters from the edge of the shower tray), which pretty much means that in most bathrooms electrical outlets are not allowed)
I'm really glad this worked out for you guys. We had a similar experience this year but we weren't able to save the kitten we rescued. It's incredibly devastating when they are so young and you have to put them down, so I'm glad you didn't have to go through that.
I just got my LR4 this past week…..& i do love it better than the LR3! This one took care of the issues with the previous one…. I did know about the parts …as my cats destroyed my previous pinch detector……so i just bought a bottom unit…& i was as good as new…! I am happy with the performance & my cats are very happy with the cleanliness….
My experience with LR4 is terrible. I have both LR3 and LR4. Because the new design, the front of LR4's rotational globe is significanly lower than the LR3 (which is one piece). After about 1 week, I realized the strong odor I constantly noticed was coming from the inside and took the globe out. I was shocked: my cats like to pee against the wall and most of their pee leaks into the base and creates a invisible urine reservoir inside LR4. I am waiting for their response but I higly doubt they can solve this issue. Most likely I will return it. Honestly this is the most disappointing purchase I've ever made.
I couldn't agree more. Their customer service is beyond bad. I have had the LR3 for 2 years with zero issues until the yellow flashing light of death appeared. I saw the fixes online but I was like meh, might as well give their newest LR4 a shot since its LR3 was great for me and my cats. The LR4 arrived and the first month was bliss. No issues but the minor error messages saying there was a cat interruption in which there was never a cat interference ever. My cats all know the rotating globe very well and never mess with it when its moving. I ignored these issues as the LR4 was still working. One more month so nearly having the thing for 2+ months now, and the device kept giving me those cat interruption messages and stopped the cycle. The last 2 weeks have been hell as its been doing it every hour or so. 3 days ago I got the solid red lights and the globe was stuck upside down with the waste tray slot wide open. My cats could not use it and I have literally done everything in the book minus unscrewing the components of the LR4 and NOTHING works. Multiple resets, nothing. Check pinch sensors, remove tray, replace tray, unplug multiple times...NOTHING works. I even let it sit plugged in and on, red light and all over night to see if it was a time out thing...nope. My $750 LR4 is broken after about 2 and a half months. Whisker is GARBAGE. They don't respond to your emails. The customer service hotline is out of service and no longer works. The request tickets for inquiries OR sending the unit back are border line impossible and I havent reached anyone. Whisker App is terrible and programmed so shotty and klunky that it makes you want to delete the app all together. It's constantly disconnecting from the LR4 and mind you, I have amazing wi-fi in my home. The experience with the LR4 has been an utter nightmare. If my LR3 didn't bite the dust I would go back to that. Alas I am stuck still trying to get through to Whisker, out $750, and back to old school plastic large bin with litter and scooping it with my hands. Stay away from this company.
This was super helpful!! I have 4 indoor cats and have been super frustrated trying to find the right solution for our new home and our fur babies. Thanks for sharing 👍
Hey man just a few things. Your cat may have really nasty smelling poops because the wet food you’re feeding it isn’t that good. You can try a better quality wet food that has less carbs and more protein content since what you’re smelling is the undigested food whenever the cat uses the litter box. I had the same issue with my mine and switching to a better quality wet food improved my cats health and litter box usage smell as well
I have 2 cats, and I got tired of dealing with the litter box with one who I had gotten from my niece who was moving, and she was an indoor only cat, but I started letting her outside with my other cat who's a male, and now I don't have to deal with the cat box but on rare occasions when they can't go outside due to really bad weather, and yes both are on a wet/dry mix diet getting plenty of water to drink, so if you have the ability to let your cat outside, and free roam around your neighborhood safely, then I can assure you that your litter box clean up will be cut by a lot as cats given the choice will go outside, and will bury their waste, so you will rarely if ever see it, or smell it.
I just love the aesthetic of your videos. Here I sat watching a 10 minute video on a litter box as someone who does not own a cat nor do I plan on owning a cat anytime soon.
Have you tried the CatGenie (120 or AI)? I've had one for years and love that it's plumbed in with washable (biodegradable) litter, so I don't even have to empty the waste, ever. They are also pretty good about parts and remarkably simple to teardown and put back together. Longevity could be better, but I've gone through 3 in… 10 years? And I could've kept the second one but decided to upgrade when we moved. I ask because now I need a litter box for my living room because our kittens refuse to use the CatGenie upstairs and our older cat is finding it harder to go up and down stairs… but there's no laundry hookup there - so I'm considering the Litter Robot (3 at the time, now the 4 looks much better!). Would love to hear if you have any comparison?
The fact that the app supports sharing via Airdrop is so funny to me. The idea of being able to just abruptly send someone your cat's bathroom history is hilarious if not a little unsettling.
Though it may be a little more expensive, wet food will save you from having to deal with issues like kidney disease later down the line from the severe dehydration an all kibble diet causes. Cats get the vast majority of their water from food, and they will never drink enough water themselves to make up for it with dry kibble.
The CAT GENIE washes granules with water and has a drain hose for your laundry room or bath room. The Cat Genie is my favorite Cat Box. No one on earth does what cat genie does.
Are you kidding ... compared to the rakes the litter robot 3 is a godsend ... solves so many problems, especially with multiple cats ... glad you like the 4
I have one of these automated litter boxes and my major complaint is how shallow the litter bin is. It wish someone would make a deeper compartment so it can last longer before replacing the trash bag. Having multiple cats, this would be a welcomed add on.
We fostered a kitten who also developed an esophageal stricture due to doxycycline. He was also on liquid food until his stricture unexpectedly grew (stretched?) as he got bigger and is now on normal wet food. Highly recommend liquid alternatives to doxy now, especially for kittens. We also have two Litter Robot 3s which have been great over the last three years. Very serviceable and pretty reliable with a bit of upkeep. Great video Quinn, now to see if we can warrant the upgrade to the LR4… 😸💩🤖 Pretty uncanny that we’ve both had such similar experiences!
Oh nice he beat the world record weight for a Maine coon by 2 pounds crazy! Should've got him registered in the Guinness World records book. Unless you know... you're lying on the internet for likes which is alot more likely
My dog had similar complications early in life as well and we fought to keep her alive. Now she is part of the family and we love her. But sometime I joke, morbidly that it’s cheaper to get a new dog.
The LR3 didn't stink?? Seriously?? That's one of the top complaints. They even started selling odor reducing pods. My Litter Robot 3 reeks when there is waste in the drawer. The unit doesn't smell, it just fails to stop odor from escaping since it leaves the waste moist. I bought a big rubbermaid container from home depot and it locks in the smell completely. Makes sense, the waste is buried under odor reducing clay.
First of all, thanks for the video :) We have two Ragdoll Cats ( 1 year old) and used the LR3 first. It had errors and malfunctions as we were away, and it was pretty smelly… We now have a Petkit Pura Max (also saw it in your collection) and we are so much happier with it. Better app, better trash bin, much much better odor control and bigger mash so we can use wood pallets. Maybe you should retest it and interest the Whisker advertising money for better Litter 😉
Wasn't sure about the sponsored product (maybe others are better)... Until you mentioned selling repair parts... that's a done deal for me. Thanks for the video :)
I love my litter robot 3. One year and going strong. What sold me is that the company sells replacement parts so I know I can fix in the future if needed.
Self-repair is not hard at all, I've never repaired anything in my life, but after diagnosis what my issue is from the website, I just had to order the parts to replaced and replaced it myself. So far I've replaced 2 parts twice and it worked well. Have owned LR3 for over 4 years.
I have the litter robot 3 and it works great but the 4 fixed every complaint I have had with the the 3. Took about a week for my cats to get used to it. Then another week before I got rid of their traditional litter box. I have mainecoons myself so I appreciate how open the 4 is. My poor babies are a lil big for the 3 so they look so squished in there 😂
You got a great unit then, there are many others, including me, whose LR3 always have issues and the need for constant repairs, but I've learned to repair it myself and it is not that hard. Still love my LR3.
With the new LR4, have you noticed a better upgrade for high peeing cats? With the LR3, high pee'rs get urine down the inside of the base and isn't good for the electronics inside. Just want to know if it'll be worth the $$ for the LR4 since I already have the LR3.
My PETKIT PURA X allowed me to monitor while i was away on a business trip. My cat went 8 times in one day, so I was able to make an informed decision and notify a neighbor to check in on the cat. This alone has solidified my ownership of a smart litter robot forever. (She ate a rubber band and it was, well, dangling from the rear LOL)
I never believed these automated litter boxes until I saw this one as soon as I have the cash I am immediately getting one because good Lord I hate cleaning litter boxes
had the litter robot 3 both wifi and non-wifi models, good products but the biggest issue i had was the sensors for pinch detection getting corroded by cat urine. it would make the drum stop upsode down and cats would then go in there and go on the sensor making it even worse.
Yeah, sensors are re-designed. The whole way it dumps waste into a much larger cavity helps with that. Everything feels a lot more well thought-out this time around. I always had issues with the LR3 and is why I began my expensive quest of trying all the boxes.
@@snazzy is the new sensors on LR4 covered to prevent dusts, particles and corrosion from getting into them? I find this is 1 of the issue that spoiled sensors on LR3, my sensors spoiled a few times coz it isn't covered, I had to tape the bottom of both the left and right sensors so that no dust and things can get into them and spoil them, so far it worked great for over 1 year with no issues. You must use a transparent tape though so the sensors wouldn't have issues.
I'm glad your cat pulled thru too , it sounded like it caught symptoms of the corona virus also known as the eye as if someone was saying " see I told you"
Scary story with the antibiotics, thanks for sharing! Glad you mentioned trying all the other robots and the improvement from lr3. I liked lr3 but it definitely had it's issues. Wasn't sure about spending this much on lr4, but you've helped make the decision! (also, points for the socks and sandals.)
I had the same thing happen with a new kitten having an URI . There was no vets open over a 3 day weekend so I locked them both in the bathroom and cranked the shower to hot and steamed them both. They snotted everywhere and after a few days they went from deaths doorstep to looking ok. Finally on Tuesday we got them to a vet and they got antibiotics and all was ok but without those showers I'm convinced they'd have died . Just passing along in case anyone else has this happen.
I have the litter robot 3 and love it! After one of are cat's got a uti they recommended us getting another one but right now we can't afford it. I hate having a pan litter box but for now it just has to do as an extra box so are cat can stay healthy. I understand about the food he is on a special diet now that is alot of money.
I’ve had my litter robot for 2 years almost. Best investment I’ve ever made. It’s like finally buying a toilet for your family member who’s needed one for so long
Amazing review... the company needs to hire you as a consultant and ongoing commentator!! I'm a HUGE Whiskers believer... purchased both a LR3 Connect and Feeder Robot about 9 mos ago, and would LOVE to own the new LR4, but just can't justify the switch @ the moment. Anyway, when the time comes, we'll be making the jump!
As someone with a Maine Coon, I felt that "other litter boxes are too small". Nothing worse than seeing your cat trying to go to the bathroom with half his body sticking out, then buying a monstrously large box that dusts up everywhere.
I have a Maine coon too! He- has had a life of sickness, but it turns out he was allergic to his plaque on his teeth iirc so we had some of his teeth removed and he’s fine now! I also have the litter robot and it’s great!
I finnaly found Prettylitter cat litter. Not trying to promote this product but in a standard litter box, there is absolutely no urine smell. Will this silica cat liter work in the Litter Robot? It does not clump. The urine evaporates, and you must mix the litter once per day. I'm really contemplating getting the litter robot.
I have a big issue with clay and clumping litter. Bentonite clay can be very harmful to kittens and cats that have damp paws like Savannah cats. The bentonite can build up in the gut and cause a blockage and in a kitten it can happen very fast. There is a unit out on the market that uses a plastic granule that is washed in fresh water as the solids and luquids are washed down the sewer after grinding. I have not used one as the size on my cats seems to be on the very large size and it's built for your standard sized cat sadly. You have a nice looking cat there and I am glad you were able to get to a healthy stage. One request. Can you do a run down on Apple/Mac based video editing software and give the pros and cons along with the needed resources including how old of. a system you can get away with with each package. Thanks and keep a stuffed toy handy.
Unfortunately, Litter Robot 4 starts shipping in July 2022, and it sounds like some features won't even be available then. Please let me know when it's actually shipping, with all features.
I'm so happy your cat pulled through. I love cats myself and it's nice to know someone like yourself didn't give up. For that you've earned a sub from the UK.
Cheers, and welcome!
I was really on the fence about this but the fact that they are willing to sell you replacement parts for repair is what really sells it for me.

Hey look, it's "That Snazzy Iphone Guy" oh the memories. 😞
Ah the iPhone 4 case review days
I don't own a cat but am loving this video thus far. So glad the kitty got better!!!!
1600 square feet is pretty small in the US. Haha
This caught my ear (?) as well
Yeah it caught my ear as well. I live together with my wife in a 70 m2 apartment (750 square foot) and we have all the space we need with 2 cats!
Except if we had Children but even then it would be manageable.
Yes, as an Italian, I spat the water I was drinking out of my mouth as soon as I did the conversion to square meters XD 150m² is a "definitely big" house here
@@OroborOSX11 Depends on where you are lol.
I'm in the northeast US and would in no way consider 1600 sq ft "small". Average maybe.
Might take a long time! They're pretty reliable from what I've heard haha
Please tell me does this get rid of the cat litter odor completely?
“Small 1600 sq foot house”
*stares in New York*
I doubt that's considered small anywhere
It is anywhere other than New York or San Francisco
Firstly, glad the fluffy one made it, they bring so much joy and having to put them down is heartbreaking. Glad you didn’t have to.
Secondly, 1,600sq feet is not a small house. At all. It’s a palace compared to most houses here in the UK. I don’t often comment but just needed to clarify that, as it comes off as entitled to some of us on the other side of the pond who pay extortionate money for houses half that size.
Hell with that much space you could have a room just for the litter box!
Anyway, love the content, stay snazzy!
The review I didn't know I needed. And I don't even own a cat.
Mood. Hope they have finance options with how much it cost tho
Lol
@@mcslender2965 maybe learn how to save
@@AnonymousOG 1. I don't have a cat
2. that's not very positive of you lmao.
So happy your cat made it!, so much respect for not giving up on him!
That's certainly possible. They've also been around for 20 years and don't seem hyper expansionist, so I bet they keep hanging around.
You really think he bought this?
I'm so sorry to hear the issues you've been having with Leonardo. Here's hoping he'll start to improve and we can kick those crystals to the curb!
Someone needs to let Americans know that 1600sq ft is not a small house
I was just gonna comment the same. Had to google how much that was in sqm, almost 150. In Europe that's just a normal house
Ya, well, it's small here. We have an enormous amount of space over on this rock.
I'm American, in an 800sq ft house. When he said small I was taken aback lol.
150sq m is still a fairly big house in the UK
@@Nomaran same! 855 here
OMG, so sorry about the experience your kitty went through from doxycycline.
OMG, I'm sorry to hear about your dog! I hope she recovers well 😔
I'm a big animal lover and so happy your kitty is alive and well!
⬆️ this. the two points i came here to make.
I'll take your old Litter-Robot 3 Connect if you want to get rid of it
This guy is so good!
I don’t have a cat and don’t intend to have one… and watched an entire sponsor video about litter machine 😂
Although i do know someone who has a cat, i think it would be a waste of time looking into getting one of these for them
1, they do not use a covered litter box as previous cats that they had would refuse to use a covered litter box (i suspect it was likely due to the smell)
2, is that there are not many places in her house where she would be able to put it, and the bathroom would not be an option due to regulations where i live, which essentially make it impossible to have electrical outlets in most bathrooms
(The current regulations here require electrical outlets to be 2.5 meters from the edge of the bath or shower (in the case of showers, it would be 2.5 meters from the edge of the shower tray), which pretty much means that in most bathrooms electrical outlets are not allowed)
What a beautiful Maine coon cat. Glad your cat is doing much better.
Forget Apple, tech or even the litter box, giving this kitty the life it deserves is the best thing you have done. Hats off to you sir.
That was an amazing 3 minute intro. Glad to hear your cat is doing well now, jealous on how you pulled off that intro lol
"Our 'small' 1600 sq ft house..."
Cat genie is my favorite litter box, around $300 and is completely odor free as it flushes the waste into the toilet.
True! Thanks for the comment.
I’m glad your cat is doing a lot better now!
The CAT GENIE washes granules with water and has a drain hose for your laundry room or bath room. The Cat Genie is my favorite Cat Box. No one on earth does what cat genie does.
Are you kidding ... compared to the rakes the litter robot 3 is a godsend ... solves so many problems, especially with multiple cats ... glad you like the 4
This review sold me. I’ve been on the fence about spending that much money but it sounds like it’s well worth it. So happy your cat is doing well. 😻
I DID NOT ASK TO CRY!!!! 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️ love the kitty
Can’t believe I watched a whole video on a litter tray when mine goes outside to poop 💩
I’m so excited to get this when we move into our house later this year! With 3 cats it’s absolutely necessary! Great video!
Thank You for helping and for never stop trying with that little guy
Thanks for the video.
Number one thing to have with a pet is a very good Vet. One that can tell you the pros an cons of the treatment they prescribe.
I had a Main Coon myself. He was also the runt of the litter. But he grew to be 36 pounds. Great cat.
Thats insanely huge
Oh nice he beat the world record weight for a Maine coon by 2 pounds crazy! Should've got him registered in the Guinness World records book. Unless you know... you're lying on the internet for likes which is alot more likely
What a beautiful boy, so happy he pulled through.... :)
I don’t own a cat. But using a hose on a patio surface while wearing socks with sandals….you are a madman.
My dog had similar complications early in life as well and we fought to keep her alive. Now she is part of the family and we love her. But sometime I joke, morbidly that it’s cheaper to get a new dog.
Thanks for the story of your cat’s Pooh and the infomercial that came along with it.
its good to give ur cat a mix of wet and dry food
The LR3 didn't stink?? Seriously?? That's one of the top complaints. They even started selling odor reducing pods.
My Litter Robot 3 reeks when there is waste in the drawer. The unit doesn't smell, it just fails to stop odor from escaping since it leaves the waste moist. I bought a big rubbermaid container from home depot and it locks in the smell completely. Makes sense, the waste is buried under odor reducing clay.
First of all, thanks for the video :)
We have two Ragdoll Cats ( 1 year old) and used the LR3 first. It had errors and malfunctions as we were away, and it was pretty smelly…
We now have a Petkit Pura Max (also saw it in your collection) and we are so much happier with it.
Better app, better trash bin, much much better odor control and bigger mash so we can use wood pallets.
Maybe you should retest it and interest the Whisker advertising money for better Litter 😉
Happy your cat is well and healthy, plus I'm seriously considering that cat litter robot, I just wish it had a flap on front. 👍
I don’t even have cats and I watched this. Keep up the good work Quinn.
Thanks!!
I have the litter robot 3 and it works great but the 4 fixed every complaint I have had with the the 3. Took about a week for my cats to get used to it. Then another week before I got rid of their traditional litter box. I have mainecoons myself so I appreciate how open the 4 is. My poor babies are a lil big for the 3 so they look so squished in there 😂
This is actually a really lovely and wholesome story
Have the LR3 and it's great - barely pay attention to it and it just works. For years and years. Quality product
Really late on this, but yeah, it's leagues better.
You saved his life ❤️❤️❤️
Me: doesn’t have a cat.
Also me: watches entire review video about a smart litter box.
Do i have a cat? No! Did i just watch a video about an extremely expensive litter robot? Yes! Thanks Snazzy
Loooove to see it. Hope to get some more cat tech content in the future!
We have the LiterRobot 3 and we love it with our two Sphynx cats. Knowing they have a 4.0 now, we might grab it. Thanks for the video!!
OMG this kitty’s face when they’re inside the smaller litter robot!! 😆
I'm glad your cat pulled thru too , it sounded like it caught symptoms of the corona virus also known as the eye as if someone was saying " see I told you"
Here I am watching a review of an automated litter box. at 2 am...
And I don't have a cat.
Mind letting us know which antibiotics did you use? My kitten has the exact same issue with his eyes and I just got some antibiotics from the vet.
Great review ordering one today!!! So glad your fur baby pulled through.
Just passing along in case anyone else has this happen.
well done Dr. Snazzy :)
I have the litter robot 3 and love it! After one of are cat's got a uti they recommended us getting another one but right now we can't afford it. I hate having a pan litter box but for now it just has to do as an extra box so are cat can stay healthy. I understand about the food he is on a special diet now that is alot of money.
I'm actually shocked by how much of the machine they sell spare parts for. Motors? Brackets?? Circuit boards????? That's insane!
I don't even care that its sponsored. These are my favorite type of Snazzy videos.
"small 1600sq ft house"
uhhhhhhhhhh
thats considered gigantic where i live in the city lmao
As someone with a Maine Coon, I felt that "other litter boxes are too small". Nothing worse than seeing your cat trying to go to the bathroom with half his body sticking out, then buying a monstrously large box that dusts up everywhere.
"In our small 600 square ft house", that is consider good for a 4-6 ppl family where I live.
I have a Maine coon too! He- has had a life of sickness, but it turns out he was allergic to his plaque on his teeth iirc so we had some of his teeth removed and he’s fine now! I also have the litter robot and it’s great!
Thanks, sounds like I’ll be getting one over my 3 open air.
It appears to be a bit too small for the cat and he seems to barely fit in. Is it actually spacious enough for the cat to feel comfortable?
