As an owner of this helmet, I will say it absolutely makes a difference in a race, but it doesn't make a lot of sense if you are not racing. The advantages feel quite real in a break away and I did feel it helped in a recent win. But even inside the race, people are so conservative about aesthetics. “Oh, the guy with the stupid helmet is here”, was a comment made the race after I won. Cycling as a sport is about aerodynamics and helmets like these are the future. It even helps vision as nothing ever slips off your face and field of view is incredible. But it's light years ahead aesthetically so you will look like the future because in a way, you probably are. And it is expensive, so there will be those who don't like it as speed you can buy. But, in a few years I predict most racers will be on an integrated system like this because manufacturers will see, like so many other recent advancements, that these gains are low hanging fruit.
Being a mechanical engineer, I like technological development and practical advancement. I also dabble in art, music, cycling, motorcycling, skydiving, and flying. I tell you this, not too brag, but to qualify my opinion. I personally think it is Starwars (big fan) ugly. But at the same time, I can appreciate the aerodynamic advantage and practical benefits of the concept. I think it is far more practical than my present time trial helmet and far better looking. I believe it is a good compromise and will take a little getting used to. I want to try it out.
Thanks for the review! I ride slow and I like to commute by bike (20ish k). From some other feedback I have heard is that the aero design actually makes wind noise much quieter. Plus, as someone who's eyes are constantly irritated by wind even when wearing big sunglasses (Sutro, Devour...), this helmet gives me a ludicrous idea that it may be useful for commuting 😂

There are always going to be the traditionalists vs. the early adopters. Aero is aero.

Great stuff to be involved in! Looks take getting used to but very slippery in the wind!
Nice review. What size is your Procen Air? Is the 382 gram weight with or without the visor? And how does the helmet fit round (Asian) heads?

You'd be one of the fastest commuters out there with that helmet!
@@Veloworthy with one of the fastest kit maybe. My legs? Granny pace haha
Do you think some prescription glasses will fit with the visor on?
Yes! Wore a pair of shades under the visor!
@@Veloworthy thanks! that helps!!! Hopefully they become available soon so I can disappoint some people while riding!
What’s the shape of the helmet? Oval shape or Round Shape? Since other brand they do come with both Oval Shape and Round Shape.
Can you wear prescription glasses
