Even if you're not a fan, anyone bashing old Slayer has zero credibility.
Bashing old Slayer tells me that you either don't like metal or you're 13 years old.
Unfortunately, I've been around some definite try-hards that will shit on early Venom and Slayer, but praise Bathory. Like uhhh... might wanna read the lyrics on that first Bathory record, then go back and listen to "Black Metal".
Early Slayer is some of the best metal ever made PERIOD
Damn I guess I’m a canoe lol I respect slayer but still not a fan. Definitely a pass. I live in LA so it’s basically their hometown.
Exactly, I don't understand why anyone into extreme metal would bash their first 3 albums and the one EP. It's like bashing early Deicide and saying you like 90s death metal, does not compute.
@8:56 - Cat being a camera canoe. ;p I'm with ya on the declawing of cats. It's a d*ickhead thing to do. They absolutely can never be let outside after that and they can no longer scratch themselves.
Cats tend to become depressed over it too. Just a shit thing to do all the way around.
I agree, people that declaw have no buisness owning cats.
People I find annoying are people that think Lamb of God is the spiritual heir to Slayer. But then again, I think Midnight is the spiritual heir to classic Motörhead so I guess we’re all annoying in some way.
Yeah but midnight sounds a lot closer to Motörhead than lamb of god to slayer
Lamb of god sounds like pantera’s drunken nephew to me
Slayer had one of the greatest songwriters in metal history in it (Jeff Hanneman) LOG does not. Not even in the same ballpark.
I actually agree with Show No Mercy, as far how influential that album is, definitely in my top 10 Metal albums of all time too.

The new song they released is a banger \m/
You make the stickers, right? I got the poser alert! 👏🤘 Great work!
@stevesteele8836 Yessir! Glad you liked it! You can thank fellow Devil Mike Violate for that sticker idea.
I just listened to the new song. I really like the gnarly down picking palm muted riffs. It’s sounds like Erik Rutan wrote the music for that track.
@@VinceFlitcroftit's the first song he wrote for cannibal. I wonder how many songs be did on this new album.

JDawg and his new cat T-eicide. Nothing beats an underground club show. I love being up close and personal with the band and the crowds. After that shows at large venues suck unless you overpay for being up front.
Absolutely! Hate shows with barriers too, so you're forced to be 6-8ft back from the stage in the "front row"
Agreed! It’s cool seeing them roll up or head out in the van after or before the set! Haha great name! Tiamat was the first thing to come to mind. He did what we all would do if we were at the dawgs office…..all eyes on the spines seeing the titles

Awesome cat. Glad HHR cares for 'em; especially the one that got declawed.
Metalheads that shit on 80’s Slayer are the type of people that own bow ties and mustache max and vintage 10-speed bicycles.
Yes this is spot on. Even your stereotypical 'Kvlt tough guy' likes early Slayer, because they know that all the bands they listen to were massively influenced by those records.

I always thought the tough guy kvlt 14 year olds were more annoying. Especially since they’re the most disingenuous people I ever met. Stuff like Nu Metal posers are usually just naive and are usually harmless, just annoying.
The captain underground canoes are the worst. They hate stuff because they want to portray an image. You're not more metal because you hate on something that is well known. You just sound like an angry kid trying to out metal other people. At least the Limp Bizkit fans aren't in the same scene.
I love when people try to out metal me. Not because I the most metal dude to ever live. But because those canoes show their tampon strings. Which helps me identify a moron with ease
@Kaumualii13 yeah, trying to out metal someone tells me you're a try hard douche that lives for an image.

I remember when that retro thrash craze was big in the late 2000s when I was in high school, anyone that called himself a thrasher that didn't like the first 3 Slayer records was automatically called a poser. Boy, how times have changed.
So based off what you said about the NWOSDM guy not knowing Dismember. Did you ever encounter any retro thrashers that didn't know something like say Dark Angel or Coroner? Not that those are obscure bands by any means.
@@Poser_Metal_Records BOOK INCOMING. Sorry if it's too long, hahA. Funny you mention it because it seems almost everyone in the thrash scene knew those bands back then. If you didn't, you were chastised hard for it. We were kinda assholish back then now that I think of it. learned all my underground shit VERY quickly thanks to Limewire and a old guy neighbor of mine that looked like Warrel Dane gave me some Forbidden, Devastation, Xentrix cds for free. They were all og press and there was about 25 bands. I was a lucky little shit, hahha. Plus, in 2007, UA-cam was still brand new so Dark Angel and Coroner were still pretty underground then compared to today. Same with Demolition Hammer. In 2008, any thrash kid that had any DH merch was considered one lucky bastard. I payed $88 for a DH cd back then and all my DH patches and shirts were all DIY. Actually, all my patches were DIY and I was still doing Hells mail order back then...while in a transitional living you facility, playing in a band, going to college and working a job. Fuck I was busy. It's great to see how popular the once more underground bands have become. I'd rather the kids today be into those bands than the scene kid stuff. One thing is weird to me though is the differences between the OSDM scene back then vs today. I come from the Death Breath, Morbus Chron camp (I knew of Morbus thanks to a Swedish pen pal of mine when barely anyone knew them). A lot of the OSDM kids today hate thrash. Us? If you didn't like "Pleasure To Kill", we called you a pussy for it. Laughs...good times.
I'm 24 years old and I love me some Thrash along with my OSDM. Pleasure To Kill is one of my favorite albums along with Eternal Nightmare by Vio-Lence and Forbidden Evil by Forbidden.

Speaking of "geezer" shows; I saw Judas Priest in Cincinnati back in 2021, and that was probably one of the worst shows I've ever been to. It had nothing to do with the band. They were actually pretty good all things considered. But the crowd was insufferable. Lots of old fat people who just stood there the entire time. There was barely any engagement whatsoever from the crowd, and the younger crowd wasn't much better. I saw a kid (i shit you not) dressed up in cosplay as some sort of anime character. It was AWFUL. I wanted everyone in that arena to line up in front of Rob Halford and apologize one by one. That was the last arena show I went to, and I think I'll keep it that way.
Terrance would be a good name for your cat, J-Dawg.
I've seen Priest and Maiden, and it's such a huge show that there's always gonna be canoes, but the shows themselves have always been enjoyable.
Canoes even at small shows. Canoes shut down Marduk. Ignore the canoes/posers so they've no validity.

That song is brutal AF no matter how many people know it or like it. Brutal is brutal no matter what. Lots of people watched the Jeffrey Dahmer show. Does that make his crimes less gruesome?
A local family pizza restaurant near me has an internet jukebox with an online database of songs, so on a busy Friday night we forced about 100 people to listen to Autopsy and Suffocation. Pretty sure it ruined their dinner, it was a good time. Someone asked if they can “shut this shit off” but we paid for the song. Funny how metalheads are forced to listen to their pathetic music for hours but they piss themselves because they have to hear metal for ten minutes.

First time I seen King Diamond was in a little rinky dink 600 max club in 1998. Place was so small, and so hot King had to take a break after every song to poke his head out the emergency exit next to the stage for fresh air.

That is indeed a ridiculous statement. I'm 38, and I've heard younger people say this nonsense about Slayer and Metallica more than a few times. Yeah, Slayer and Metallica have been shit for years, but one can't deny the sheer greatness of albums such as Show No Mercy, Hell Awaits, Reign, Kill 'Em All, Lightning, and Puppets. On top of that, those two bands opened the door to SO much more great music for me (and for COUNTLESS others, no doubt). Bottom line, those are all absolutely essential metal albums. And yeah, I'd go with TRVE KVLT tough guy being the most annoying. If someone is going to tell me the likes of Show No Mercy and Kill 'Em All aren't good (let alone classics), just don't even talk to me.
