Exceptional topic! This aligns with what I had experienced. I had discussed with my doctor because it appeared I had gained 14 lbs in about 2 months. She said that it had appeared I was gaining muscle. She said in some cases, depending on body fat, you can appear to have gained weight. However, my clothes weren't snug and my strength was so much better than 2 months prior. Over 2 years into running, strength/plyometric training and consistency, I had reduced my body fat to less than 17% body fat (which is a bit extreme). The topic on reaching a "plateau" is very accurate. That's when I was advised that I should slowly started challenging myself more (little by little) when running. I totally quit alcohol for over 2 years and that also made a world of difference. Thank you Holly for this video and content!
What are your thoughts on HR training? Can you possibly do a video on that? My HR is always high when I run, has been for 13 years. Is HR training really a thing?
This is so important. I think, especially in the beginning, we tend to overestimate the "burned" calories , we might want to "reward" us and also forget that the body will find a way to burn less if you train regularly - its just way too effective in survival mode! On the other hand, it is never the answer to eat less, less and less than less. Like you said- balance seems to be the key!
When you said that you'll be hungry after an hour of running, that you can eat anything. I was thinking that all I see is ducks and squirrels before I get home. Thanks.
Loving these regular uploads, Holly!!!! And not to mention the most relevant video today for my current circumstances. Love it!!! 🥰 🎉
Yay!! Happy to help. I’m loving the consistency also! So much better.
Great topic, Miss Holly. Thank you! I’m around 8 miles for my longest run so getting to the point I should start thinking about fuel on a long run.
Can you make a video on the mental state during a run? Like motivation to keep running vs walking breaks... especially for long runs . Thank you!
Absolutely! Great video idea.
Great stuff, a few interesting takes that I'd not properly considered - thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
