Sounds like you really stretched your creativity muscles. Cool having one of a kind items too. I have hand stitched a few things, Halloween costumes and such, and done repairs on clothes but I've always admired people that just whip out the sewing machine and really create beautiful or practical things. There were certain skills all of my siblings were taught and how to use a sewing machine was one. Until me. My mother tried and tried to teach me but I just never quite got it. The day she had to help me free myself because I managed to put the needle through the tip of my finger despite all the safety features was the last day I used a machine. After that I was just allowed to ask her to fix or hem an item. 😂 Totally unrelated my mother had very beautiful gray hair.
I saw another youtuber that modified all her leather from black (she thought looked too harsh) to browns using leather paint. Boots, sandals, belts, purses, gloves, coats. All things she didn't have to repurchase and the results were very impressive.

You sure know how to frighten me with that needle through the finger story, Ellen. 0_0 I hope that never happens to me. I’ve definitely had some fears related to sewing but the more I do it the less I worry about those things happening. Although this one time I accidentally sewed over a pin and the needle snapped and went flying at my face. It just narrowly missed hitting me in the eye. That certainly got me to pay better attention! ^o^ Anyway, I love what you said about painting old black leather items to brown. I might do that with some of my faux leather boots that I never wear. Great idea!

@@happyandauthentic I was a kid/preteen when the finger thing happened. Don't think you have to worry. But who knew you needed safety goggles.

It was a dumb mistake on my part. Everyone always tells you to remove the pins as you go. I wasn’t paying close enough attention. Haha

If you don't control your attitude, then it will control you
