When I edited the video I realised I referred to the split pin as a circlip by mistake when recording. I left it in as I thought people would know what I was referring to and it was no big deal. I didn't realise so many people would want to 'correct me' 😂 Thanks for commenting, but I do know the difference between the two. 👍
Thanks for the content, here in Brazil the Interceptor and the GT are almost half the price of others 650, like the CBR 650 or the MT-07. Your project really seems to go on the line of what i would like to do when i get mine, thanks for the content!
Anything one does either cosmetic or of a performance functional nature to a Motorcycle is a personal choice... if it makes you feel good about what you've done the cost is always worth it...I had a quick shifter fitted to my Street Triple...most of the time I don't use it but when I do I just love that distinctive howl from the exhaust..
Really enjoying this series Tony. This year I swapped my BMW R1250 RT and KTM 890 Adv for 3 new Royal Enfields Interceptor, Classic 350 and Scram 411….best decision ever and has certainly helped grow my modest channel numbers
Enjoyed that thanks for sharing, have to say taking you back to a review of a Arai Rapide Neo. Well following your review I brought one, and WOW what a great helmet it is! Thank you.
Those are nice looking controls. Just a quick tip if you got a hard to reach cotter pin (thats what they are called in the USA) is to run a piece of wire through the back end and use the wire to pull the pin out, I like 0.32 safety wire and use that to pop the pin out. I know this time it was easy but if you ever run into that situation again you can just run a wire though it. I was an Jet Engine Mechanic in the US Air Force I changed out lots and lots of those cotter pins on daily basis.
@@gogsie59 never know with the UK 😆 When I used to live in Felixstowe my neighbour asked me if I had any Jubilee clamps, I had no idea if I did or not, turned out I did, we call them hose clamps.
I seem to recall Cotter pins were the type that had a slopping ramp with a screw thread on the end so that a nut would draw the ramp to a interference fit as it was tightened..(Like bicycles foot cranks used to have.)....Those mentioned on the video I would call Clevis pins...
A bit off topic but here goes I’m 6 foot tall, 61 and just pootle about. Rode a bike as a teenager and got full licence just 2 years ago I’ve got an Interceptor which I really like. Nice upright riding position, great looks, great sound. Cheap to service Looking to step up to something with a bit more power and stability, it's a bit lacking on dual carriageways and motorways when doing over 70mph Want a bike with plenty of room, not cramped. Nice exhaust note, had a go on Z650RS but sound was bland. Want a bike with power in low revs, don’t want to be wringing it’s neck; want bike to be comfortable at 70/80mph, not revy or vibey Thinking of Tracer7 or Tiger 660 or Tiger 850/900 or Ducati Multistrada V2 if I push the boat out; BMW R1250RS if I really pushed the boat out Just not sure whether to go with a bike with a screen, seen so many reviews where screen gives more buffeting which I don’t want; could put up with a bit of wind noise. As I only do small trips do I need a screen? Should I stick with a naked?? Like the look of XSR900 and Monster. Problem is I’ve got a top box and although they look ugly on a bike often need a bit of functionality. Don’t like Z650 or MT07, they are a bit small for me So best choice with a screen? Best choice without a screen? Best naked 700cc? I'd appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on which to test ride, not easy as dealers don’t always have a demo in
Hi Beverley, theres a lot to go through but here are my thoughts. By the sound of what you want from the engine, A twin would be the way to go. The Tigers are triples so will maybe be more on the revvy, vibey side of what you're after? The Tracer is a good choice, but may be a little cramped? I really like the Multistrada V2 its a brilliant all round bike, as is the Honda Africa Twin. KTM 890 Adventure could be a shout too? Screens are really hard to work out as its very dependent on your height, posture and helmet. I see alot of people refer to buffeting, when I think they actually mean wind noise. Ive not really had any major buffeting issues from screens, and the wind noise can be dealt with through aftermarket screens or spoilers. But for any of the bikes, low down torque is probably best served with a twin, and the GS will deliver that in spades, as would the KTM 1290 Superadventure S
Ooh cheeky! I have ridden both and I preferred the Monster, but that probably because I like twins. Both great bikes, the Yam is a more 'aggressive' bike if you want it to be
I have a classic 350 reborn with the heel toe shifter and I would love to put on one on the Intercetor… Probably I would have to design it and CNC it by myself … From your point of view - is it possible? I was looking at it in the dealership and I guess it would be possible for sure :) Now its just a matter of the right place where they would do it …
Looks nice. Do you know if the brake lever is designed to bend if the bike falls? I saw an interceptor on the web that had aftermarket foot controls added that punched a hole in the clutch cover when the bike was knocked over when stationary. I guess it was stronger than the casing!
It’s not foldable No, but I suspect as it’s bolted on the be adjustable for length it may move or break off in the event of the bike going over on that side
Love the looks but the price is off putting tbh ! A week after I bought the bike I took everything RE had done in that insipid silver and had it powder coated in satin black including the foot controls , so unless they have a 60% off sale I'll stick with my originals ! 👍🏻
@@mancavemoto Maybe they'll appear on a deal ! There are a couple of others things I'd like to change first ...rear light & I'd love some of the new Motone control levers ( when they finish them ) they are a really good project bike for riders with limited skills !
Hi Tony, Nice to see you back (what a journey you had!) What kind of lifter are you using (we can see it @ 7:20) ? Do you think it will work with a Street Twin ?
I’ve only just got around to watching the video, very good, I think the controls look classy but it makes the foot pegs look cheap and nasty, have you plans to change them. Keep up the good vids
Be careful ordering from Le Motographe to the UK, the price on the website includes VAT which they do not remove for UK delivery and then state on the invoice that VAT is zero effectively increasing the cost of the item by 20% because you then have to pay UK VAT on top of customs charges. They are less than helpful when this is pointed out to them. Once this all added up £277 seems excessive.
I wouldn't want to change my brake pedal just for the looks but I do find the stock pedal so difficult to use, hidden as it is under the engine casing, really poor ergonomics unless you're pigeon toed. I guess I don't really want to pay 5% of the cost of the bike just to make the change either. Is this the kind of thing a conmpetent enineering workshop could knock out as a one off?
Just to give anyone who is considering buying these foot controls they will cost you £256 for the foot controls and another £63 import tax ! So just over £320 if you fall in love with these ....don't ask how I know and pray the wife doesn't find out ! The bikes a keeper so I don't mind so much !
Are the TEC parts of suspect quality ? I had been looking at their stainless 1 3/4" diameter 2 into 2 pipes to connect up to my S&S slip ons. The reviews had seemed reasonable on these items.

A good looking set of levers 😃👍. I’ve found the cheapest way to reduce the weight on any bike is to cut back on the chips and biscuits 😆!

It’s not a circlip! It’s a split pin and Clevis pin!
Yep that was a slip of the tongue, but thanks for pointing it out
Loving the RE interceptor ⭐️ Well done Tony! Little effects ultimately make the biggest changes.
I feel like i've just been prodding at it a little at the moment. Looking forward to reallt getting stuck in!

yes, not sure what yet, but they will be changed, or at the very least painted
Nice one Tony. They look the nuts. Do they not do foot pegs to match ? That would look even better I reckon.
