Genius simple solutions George. Tested both 650s hosted at a lovely Bike Shed day in a window between lockdowns. Liked both for different reasons but not the cheap feel switchgear and THAT sticky-out peg/shifter. These quick fixes plus the cam, 2-1 15 kilo weight saving etc make this such an attractive deal...
Same question as Fred also! Very keen on the 2-1 exhaust. S&S are set to release their 2-1 system this month, hopefully they don't beat TEC to the punch - the TEC one looks proper.
Another really simple solution to those grotesque chain adjusters: Schraeder plastic valve caps and they can be found in some pretty interesting iterations and colours.
I thought something might be wrong with my footpegs! Thank-you for telling us. Can you advise on the wedge washers? Also what tires do you have on that interceptor?
Same question as Fred has here below. In June you thought being able to deliver the 2 into 1 exhaust within a few days. Any new date available? Have you left the K60 scout 140/80 R18 on the bike or did you finally switch against the K60 130/80 R18 as mentioned in your video part 4? You give us a lot of funn showing how to play around with our 650. Ths for that
Excellent, George! I like low-cost improvements. The hex connectors are 25mm long & the wedge washers are M8. Should the wedges not be fitted to the other footrest casting too, as it also sits out from the frame? In fact, the frame bolt lugs on that side are clearly at an angle to the frame.
Have RE changed the stud size on the chain adjuster on the 2023 bikes? I ask because i ordered two M8 stud connectors from e bay and they are too small to go on the rod.
Hi which tyres you have put on (Manufacturer, Size). I am looking to change stock Phirli as they dont grip well on highway ride and on high speed. Also have to be very carefull if there is little off road patch.
Hi George thanks for sending my washer s would you believe I used the bottoms washer s the same as you but used the top ones together to pack the footrest bracket out. Thanks again
I believe these are Heidenau K60 Scout 140/80 R18 rear and 110/80 R18 K60 (not Scout) front. Meanwhile Heidenau has a new size sice feb. K60 Scout 100/90 R18 matching exactly the original size
George this washer idea is first rate. But does it affect the shifter linkage at all? On mine, the gear shifter is out 5 degrees like yours. But the linkage itself is parallel. Will moving the foot peg and lever back into parallel with the frame cause the linkage to bind at all?
tried to source those exact washers, expensive is not the word if you have to buy 200 pcs. Edit: for those interested they are quite cheap on Ali Express. search: square taper U section washer. smaller quantities
Hi, I'm facing the problem that the OEM silencers are too inclined towards the rear leaving difficulties to install large side bags. Of course I do not want to go for after market silencer. Have you ever faced this problem?
Looking forward to the 2:1 exhaust as well...watching website daily! Need to get hold of some of those shim wedges! Got stud connectors so great idea. Thanks for the video 👍👍
Hello Just looked at my bike new in July 2020 and it’s got the same issue on the left foot rest can’t see them on your web site , I am going to order the black leavers but going on holiday for two weeks tomorrow also a quick question not sure if I have missed a video but I have issues with the rear brake post, did you move your lever upwards? Mine is like an old C90 cub with no shoes left you have to be a contortionist to work the brake .
I have now listed some wedge washers in packs of 4 on the web shop as loads of people have asked. We will have solutions and options for gear /rear brake levers soon as well as adjustable pegs
george milburn thanks George that’s great , will order these and the leavers when I return form holiday many thanks,,ps just adjusted the rear brake leaver slightly , thanks again Tony
Re: shim/wedge washers for left footpeg bracket: I'm in Canada and Tec Bike won't ship to Canada or USA and Tec Bike USA doesn't carry them so anybody got any other source they can suggest? I bought some 3/8" from R.E. Glover here and they are massive - better suited for a tractor! Any help would be much appreciated.
Maybe the foot rest is intentionally made this way because you rotate your foot under to shift up. If you have a larger foot or boot this would likely be helpful in shifting. The other footrest, being the brake, the foot always goes directlly down, it doesn't need to be canted back. It may not the asthetically pleasing but if it's functional okay why bother?
I’ve not actually ridden the 650 yet, but every one I’ve sat on I noticed that my boot connected with the bend in the brake leaver instead of the rubber bit on the end. That bugged me immediately. I’m really not impressed by the build quality of these bikes, and worry what nasties such as machining debris might get left in the engines. It’s by no means just a tolerance or final inspection issue. Many problems stem from the design stage. If I was going to Dublin...!
Watch the RE video of there factory. It was impressive . The machining and engine building is state of the art.Hand striped tanks etc .That video sold me on there motorcycles. Royal Enfield also bought harris performance who designed the frames/chassis for there motorcycles .The new 650 twins were designed in england at there design studio there .The build quality is top notch in my professional opinion.
its little things like that why i didnt buy onei ve had a few re bike the curries are ruff on assembly line shonky in a word they only shootin tere own foot
Chain adjuster fix = brilliance! One of those " of COURSE!" moments. Thanks for that!
When will the seat and rack system be available? Short seat looks amazing!
Simply beautiful exhaust headers and silencer. Very nicely done.
I haven't even got a bike but love watching these vids. Definitely looking at RE when I can get back into biking, well that or triumph.
That's a nice neet little mod with the connector nut. I put a "bullet" taper on mine and it looks pretty good. Thanks for the idea.
The seat / rack combo needs to be made available ASAP.

Proper British engineering at it’s best, nice one mate 👍👍👍👍
"I wish you hadn't said that" *proceeds to say it to the entire internet* 🤣
Looking forward to the new parts coming online!
Just fitted these washers, work like a dream, thanks guys!
Just had a 2022 delivered last week and it still has the left footpeg/shifter issue!
Brilliant wee ideas… so simple
Thank you...just did this and a pair in black oxide. Worked perfectly!
Hi great fixes when are you installing the performance cams, keep up the great work
The cam is in now and will release a video with dyno run data in next few days
Another really simple solution to those grotesque chain adjusters: Schraeder plastic valve caps and they can be found in some pretty interesting iterations and colours.
Good video. I don’t have a gap on my motorcycle. But the stud joiner is a brilliant tip. M8 and I opted for 30mm length.
A beautiful bike just as it is; amazing with your improvements! Subbed.
I thought something might be wrong with my footpegs! Thank-you for telling us. Can you advise on the wedge washers? Also what tires do you have on that interceptor?
Put a nice ss machine screw in the end of that hex joiner to keep the water out
good idea

On the web shop from 14th August
Señor hola, exelente trabajo. Podria decirme que medidas y el modelo de neumaticos que lleva esa motocicleta?
Are you going to increase the travel on the front suspension on this
Brilliant
Nice, thanks for sharing.

right side is Ok on mine, but nothing would surprise me on these frames the tolerance is not good
Hi,the seat is awesome, will it go on sale someday?
Have RE changed the stud size on the chain adjuster on the 2023 bikes? I ask because i ordered two M8 stud connectors from e bay and they are too small to go on the rod.
Awesome quick fix ideas. Any worry about moisture or anything getting into the stud joiner and perhaps settling in around the bolt?
you could put a shot screw in the end. but a proper job wold be a long dome head
Great video stay safe 🇬🇧👍🏻
I would like to know where I can buy a stainless steal stud joiner. I live in Australia.
Are them washers available on the Web site I'm a returning biker in the process of buying an interceptor cheers.👍

Where can i get that seat?!?
Same question here 👋🏻
Where did you get the headlight from?
Thanks, smart improvements. GT650 has same non-pendicular left footpeg mounting issue. Where did you find the wedge washers please?
Google "leveling shims", or "wedge washers", or "beveled washers". Lots of places sell them.
Where can I buy Tec bike in australia
any news on the camshaft review / dyno / tests ?
video on now
Thanks for that great ideas. Can you tell me what tyres you have fitted and are they the standard wheel size ? Thanks
I believe these are Heidenau K60 Scout 140/80 R18 rear and 110/80 R18 K60 (not Scout) front. Meanwhile Heidenau has a new size sice feb. K60 Scout 100/90 R18 matching exactly the original size
Can u tell me the tyres details for the same stock rims

How to do the air injection sytem removal or eliminator on the exhaust pipe headers?.
hi i need that seat when are you going to sell it. is it a straght swap.
Adding to my earlier comment, what size stud joiner do I need? Thanks
Fantastic ...!!. Could you tell me which head lamp essembly is that. Can we get it in India.
Thank you.

@@tonymartin3780 Hard to beat a FLAT brake pedal (a lá RE Bullet !) on any machine....the gear lever style pedal end is just not working for me.
What seat is that?

Yes, function before form. Good point 👍🏼

its little things like that why i didnt buy onei ve had a few re bike the curries are ruff on assembly line shonky in a word they only shootin tere own foot
