Mt. Washington Auto Road NH in a VW Beetle with Front & Rear Views!

The 4th drive up Mt. Washington for our little blue 66 Volkswagen Beetle. Excellent weekend trip with friends from our car club. No talking in this video, just the sweet sound of an air-cooled VW in lower gear revving its way along.

Wonder what the cylinder temperature was on # 3 close to the top of the climb. She was working

I have full gauges, so I know the #3 was still lower than running down the highway at 65. I was in 2nd gear most of the drive up and at approximately 20mph, so 2500-3000 RPM. With the RPM up, the fan is turning out a good air volume keeping everything pretty cool. The car has dual ICT 34s and is tuned at sea level. Once above 5500ft. you can actually feel the difference, temperature still stays reasonable, but it was also in the 40s up there on this trip.
