I’ve been interested in mechanical things for as long as I can remember and have been employed in the aftermarket auto parts industry for all of my life. I feel the more you can do for yourself the better off you are and have learned much of what I know by making mistakes on the first round. A lot of VW & other automotive work happens in the barn along with other random projects, repairs and trips that pop up. I’m hoping some of this stuff can help someone else out on their projects.

Snowblower Shear Pin Replacement - Easily in 5 Minutes!
Broke a shear pin on my Ariens 921050 Platinum 24 SHO snowblower and figured it might help some folks out!
USE CAUTION - make sure the ignition is off and its really best to disconnect the spark plug before performing any work on the auger.
This is an easy fix using a punch, hammer and a couple 1/2 wrenches.
The process is the same on just about every snowblower out there.
Always use the correct pin for your blower, they cane be different from machine to machine and using the wrong one can break other components instead of the the pin!

Wonder what the cylinder temperature was on # 3 close to the top of the climb. She was working
I have full gauges, so I know the #3 was still lower than running down the highway at 65. I was in 2nd gear most of the drive up and at approximately 20mph, so 2500-3000 RPM. With the RPM up, the fan is turning out a good air volume keeping everything pretty cool. The car has dual ICT 34s and is tuned at sea level. Once above 5500ft. you can actually feel the difference, temperature still stays reasonable, but it was also in the 40s up there on this trip.
Thanks for making this cool video. The second time I just put headphones on and listened.
Thank you for watching!

I did the same sleeve repair on my Series 1 Deserter restoration project. The person that shortened the pan cut through all the tubes when he cut the tunnel. I had to splice both parking brake tubes, clutch and throttle tube. Good repair. Great job so far.
I like the looks of Rebel Wire harness. They are VW specific. Subscribed. Looking forward to following along. I am currently rebuilding a Series 1 Deserter. Some videos on my channel.
I’m going to be using a universal harnesses from speedway motors. It’s not made for a rear engine car so I have to lengthen a couple of the wires but I really liked the size of the fuse box. I’ll do a video on it when I get to that point. I love the Series 1 cars, classic buggy look with the refinements Alex added. I did a conversion on a LHDrive Beetle to RH Drive that had cable brakes instead of hydraulics, what a challenge that was but it worked !! Good luck with project from the U/K.
