As a new DM/Player to D&D I just want to thank you. These beginner "how to" videos are just wonderful. This has helped me so much. Just wanted to say thank you keep up the good work!👍🏼
Hey, Paul. Thanks so much for your kind words, it's really lovely to hear that they're helpful. I've got loads more planned or January so hopefully they'll be useful too. Cheers for watching!
I can't wait until he's a level 3 youtuber. That's when the youtube gloves come of and people talk smack about him but he doesn't let it get him down because he's awesome
Haha! Cheers, Moses! We've definitely got enough XP for level 2 so far. Thankfully, mostly, people have been really kind so far. I've had a few criticisms, but they've been really helpful! But you're right...3rd level is when we start fighting trolls I think!
Great video! It helped me conceptualize the character creation process. I sent it to my party! One bit of feedback- the music was a bit loud in this video and it made it difficult to focus on your voice. Maybe lower the audio next time if you haven't already!!
No worries, Megan! I'm glad that this was useful to you, and I hope that the things I've got planned for the New year will be as well. Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to cover and I'll pop it on the list! Cheers for watching!
Can't wait to see your new videos. I'm excited to see what you have planned! Oh and I was wondering what you as a DM/GM like your players to have, in order to have a smooth playing exsperience. Thanks!
Hey Megan. For everything to be smooth, it's best if players have their character sheets, a set of dice, some note paper and a pencil, as well as their Player's Handbook ready to look up things like spells and so on, on the fly. In a perfect world, and to really go the extra mile, it would be wonderful if a player knew roughly what their character can do in a turn; things like if they've made a rough note of what their spells can do for a speedy pace, rather than having to look them up, and if their character sheet has all of their bonuses and other maths already sorted out and ready to go for when their turn comes up. Otherwise, I think it's fine if you're still figuring out the game to take some time and ask questions if you need to slow things down a bit. Let me know how it goes!
Hey found the monster monday videos, they're all pretty good! keep up the good job. Also your drawings are awesome, you should feature them a bit more while you talk, could be like your schtick
While not wrong that Shillelagh is an awesome spell, it won't boost the schimitar, as it got to be a wooden weapon. Sorry, but I had to appease my rule lawer soul. =P
No worries, Jimmy. I'd go with a wooden scimitar if such a thing exists! If not, then good point, we'd need something else! Cheers for watching and for the comment.
awesome I enjoyed the video but could you do a video on creating a character in 4e or even a quick tips on creating in other editions? Your video was super helpful for 5e but unfortunately my players and I mostly play 4e. Thanks for the tutorial and good luck leveling your channel!
Hey, Christopher. I'll happily make a video on rolling up characters in other editions. I've got a long list of videos and suggestions to get through, but I'll definitely add it to the list! Thanks for watching!
This video was great. But please use the terminology provided in the book. And also makes sure to showcase more stat generating methods like point buy. I think you make a lot of things sound final like you said there is only two stat generating methods the d20 and the 4d6 drop lowest.
So, I don't tend to, bit I've definitely heard of that being done for a more stable character. Basically, as long as everyone else in the group is doing it, then I'm sure it's fine, y'know?
Thank you so much, Cold Peppermint! I'm with you. In these older videos, I hadn't quite figured out my audio levels. I may try and remake this video one day, but I'm glad you got something out of it anyway. Thanks so much for watching!
I know stone is a unit of measurement for peoples body weight but can you tell everyone what that means in kilos I'm from Canada and we don't use stone so I have no idea what that translates too
Hey, Moses. Greetings to Canada! A stone is roughly 6.4 kilos apparently. So, to put it in perspective...the internet tells me that the "average" male weight in the UK is 13.16 stone, or 83.6 kilos. Hope that makes it more tangible for you guys!
There's some overlap, Aidan, but there's always quite a bit of difference from edition to edition. Which version are you playing? I may be able to find a guide for you!
Yeah. It's really rare and gets ugly pretty quickly. It's great for a laugh for a one-off, but not the best for a campaign. Let me know if you end up giving it a go some time! Cheers for watching.

Only recently found this, but FANTASTIC work. Getting back into D&D after so long was a bit rough, but this made it so much easier.
Thank you so much. I've been having a lot of trouble making character sheets. TY!
Did you draw that in the end? Because I was not expecting that quality when you said to draw what they look like. Seems like you've had some practice.
Great video! It helped me conceptualize the character creation process. I sent it to my party!
One bit of feedback- the music was a bit loud in this video and it made it difficult to focus on your voice. Maybe lower the audio next time if you haven't already!!
Agreed---the music was very distracting and difficult to hear when you were speaking
Certainly a lot more to it than I thought there would be! :s
I hope it's not too frustrating! Feel free to ask me any questions if you have something that you'd like some help with!
This was so much help thank you!

Cheers, Chueko Loyo. I’m hoping to do just that! Stick around. I’ve got loads planned for January!
Greetings from Latvia!🇱🇻
Hehehe I am the 421st like
Question.. why roll 4 D6 and then take a die away? Why not just use 3 from the start?
Cheers mate

Lots of help!
Hey Adventurous , thanks so much. Hope you enjoy the rest of our stuff, and thanks for dropping by.

Honestly the use of the marker might lead players to use one themselves I would suggest using a pencil or tell people to use one
First off, fantastic screen name! Secondly, good point. I'll make sure to o that in future.
Cheers for watching!

Good Point Abcras. Maybe I'll do a followup video with some extra points. Thanks for the comment.
Don’t you reroll 1s or is that just my friends rules so you don’t get to low?
So, I don't tend to, bit I've definitely heard of that being done for a more stable character.
Basically, as long as everyone else in the group is doing it, then I'm sure it's fine, y'know?

Does this work for other editions?
There's some overlap, Aidan, but there's always quite a bit of difference from edition to edition. Which version are you playing? I may be able to find a guide for you!
I'd argue that a forest-dwelling hippie druid wouldn't have average charisma, and the whole balance thing tends to rub people the wrong way.
Good point, rashkavar.
Cheers for watching!
Noticed you said health die are d6, d8, or d10. You forgot Barbarians use d12.
Nice catch, Jacob! I totally forgot about that one!
Cheers for watching!
No problem, I recently found your channel and have been binge watching your vids! Keep up the awesome work!
That's so awesome to hear! Really glad you're enjoying my stuff! Glad to have you here!
Everything in any role playing is written in
PENCIL. There are always changes. Always
Never heard of rolling a d20 for stats.
Yeah. It's really rare and gets ugly pretty quickly. It's great for a laugh for a one-off, but not the best for a campaign. Let me know if you end up giving it a go some time!
