Man this scene was so freaking hilarious watching Freddy control the kid like a video game character and the way he was jumping all over the house they were in and smashing the walls and everything else I'll bet they had a lot of laughs from the audience when this movie was playing at the theaters especially the cartoon sounds.

The franchise definitely jumped the shark veering so far into comedy with this one. It's like what happened with the Burton-Schumacher Batman series only a couple years later.
Mmhmm. Actually, though, they'd pretty much jumped the shark, back in 1989, when Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, was so heavily edited, on the first two deaths, which is Dan's death, then Greta's death. I don't know if you know this or not, but Dan's death had to be edited at least 12 times, and Greta's death had to be heavily edited, or else the MPAA was going to slap an NC-17 rating on the movie, meaning that no one under the age of 17 could've gotten in to watch the movie. If you've ever seen the unedited death scenes of this movie, you'll understand why. They're here on UA-cam, though.
Yes, it´s funny. But it´s also clear that Freddy has become his own parody. In the first NOES he was the pure evil creature maybe sent direct from Hell. Personally, 1 through 4 was the Prime for me....although I'm starting to grow a little bit fonder of Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, too. It's somewhat more watered-down, than the first four, but it can still pack quite a wallop... especially if you can watch Dan's and Greta's uncensored death scenes, and not wanna puke! Those two death-scenes were so heavily edited for the Theaters that, if they hadn't been edited, the Movie Pictures American Association (The MPAA) would've slapped either an X Rating, or, at the very least, an NC-17 Rating on that movie, which could've been absolutely disastrous for that movie!
