- So later this year it will have been 5 years since I started speedrunning scooby-doo! Night of 100 frights and completely obsessing over the game. And between speedrunning and now modding, during those 5 years I have gathered a lot of useless super obscure facts about the game. So I thought why not make a video and share some of these.
Hope you Enjoy!

Night of 100 Frights but can't even manage 100 useless facts... I need more useless facts!!
The game contains Scooby-Doo
Okay here you

78) Freddy is in the game

@@TheBoghopper2 90) Your not in the game
91) Your mom isn't in the game
92) Your mom isn't in the game
93) Your mom isn't in the game
94) Why did I mention your mom three times, she was to fát to mention just once
95) Scooby could have been wearing pants, but the devs either forgot to add them or neglected to, probably to avoid offending PETA.
96) Barron Trump was originally intended to be the voice of the Mastermind. This presented a problem, as in 2002, Barron Trump had yet to be born.
97) Kevin James's right cheek is hidden in the game files.
98) The game was originally intended to have 100 monster types instead of the roughly 20 that made it in the final cut. Contrary to popular belief, the shelving of around 80 villains had nothing to do with the scrapping of the original PS1 prototype. It was actually because the devs were too scared to add any more monsters to the game.
99) Ninety-nine.
100) The hole that Shaggy falls into leads to a meth lab. This is, unfortunately, not seen in game.
6:42 The 28th of August is "Rainbow Bridge memorial day" which is to remember pets that have passed away and so might be why the water is changing colours ❤️
awwwwwwwwww
I forget which day it is, but there is some random time that when you grabbed Scooby Snacks, you start seeing Mystery Machine flowers pop out of them.
4:36 I remember as a kid being scared of getting hit by that creeper every time he would pop out lol. I'm kind of pissed to learn the he's actually harmless🤣
Perhaps the same could be said of most "monsters" in scooby-doo.
They were just too scary for UA-cam
I have a distinct memory of me, as a child, crying because I didn't want to walk past that painting
@@StarboundRoseYou must be 13 or older to use UA-cam.
@@unr34L- I could’ve sworn I left the comment on the one that said “couldn’t even manage 100 facts” I don’t know how I ended up here.
Fun fact for you all: The Mastermind's voice actor is the same as Ben Ravencroft in Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost, who is played by none other than Tim Curry.
I was like “there’s no fuckin’ way that’s Tim Curry” but lo and behold
Had no idea he was the VA, just another reason those old movies are goated
25 min video about an esoteric video game from my childhood? i’m here for it
20:28 The fact that Shock on the Dock 2 has a remix in a completely different unrelated game astounds me.
its especially wild cause that song is also based on background music from the original cartoon. So it's a double remix
genuienly the coolest fact imo
I also wonder why the developers never file a lawsuit against them because you can clearly tell it's the same music.
I am genuinely thankful this game has gained such a passionate community. It's a game I grew up on, but seeing it take on a dedicated speedrunning community was not something I'd ever expected!
25 min video about an esoteric video game i've never heard of? i'm here for it.
Honestly it's a pretty good game.
The Shock in the Dock song bit was exactly the reason why it was my favorite track in the entire game
For number 14, I wonder if it's because the level is so large they wanted to make sure the moon was still normal looking even with camera movement.
You just single-handedly brought back so many memories of me as a kid briefly watching my sister play this game on PS2, but when I played, I never really went that far in the game. Hell, I just enjoyed screwing around in the Playground near the entrance. All I know is that there was a save file on our PS2 that had all the completion data, but I never got to see any of our family play through it in its fulness. Now that I'm an adult with superior gamer skills to my younger self, I'd like to see if my sister still has that game and give it a shot.
I have a few more for you!
- In the level where you find the football helmet power-up, some of the skull cliff level is accurately rendered in the background. You can see it from certain parts of the mountain you climb to get the helmet. Several other levels show others in the background.
- It is possible to get the Black Knight disguise early by jumping to an invisible ledge near the balcony where it is placed.
- In the level with the sinking boats in the background, mentioned at 11:35, the hit box for the fish net you swing to the boats from is already in position to reach; double jump out and grab the invisible net, and you can swing to the boats early on.
- In the level just before the Mastermind boss fight, you can jump directly to the last blue platform from the start, skipping the majority of the acid vat jumping puzzle.
The most interesting fact to me was how seamlessly the mansion interiors could connect together. I'm not sure if it was something that the artists did for convenience before splitting everything off into multiple levels or if they were hoping for people to notice the continuity between the areas, but there's a video of someone who imported all the interiors into a level editor and they overlap in a way that feels very natural. Usually, interiors in games like this will end up overlapping with each other if put together like that because of size differences because there's no reason why you couldn't just decide to make the interior "bigger on the inside" in a video game if the player isn't going to notice normally anyway.
igorseabra4's video, right?
Idk if anyone has mentioned this...but the games intro cutscene exists in a glitchy form in a spongebob game (i believe battle for bikini bottom)
I had a hunch when you mentioned the remix of Shock on the Dock 2 at around 20:30 so I did a quick Google search and I was correct!
So it's not entirely a remix per se; it was "written" by Tommy Tallarico, known music plagiariser, so it is straight up the music from Shock on the Dock 2 that he altered to change the genre and then would have claimed to the devs of Flip's Twisted World that he wrote it completely.
So, yes, kind of a remix, but also no, just straight up theft.
Great video btw! Been enjoying these cool tidbits for the past wee while :]
I got curious and I checked the resume of Joey Kuras, the person whose work Tommy has appropriated the most and indeed - Joey Kuras is credited as '(design of all sound effects)'.
So yeah, one more thing Tommy took as his own when Joey did all the work.
*TOMMY TALLARICO STRIKES AGAIN*
How is this Tallarico motherfucker literally EVERYWHERE
that creeper terrified me as a kid.... and it can't even hurt me?‼️
Great video topic! I have another useless fact I discovered as a kid on the PS2.
You can fall into the hole in the starting area (the one Shaggy falls into during the intro) by using a disguise (lampshade or armor) and wiggling back and forth for a bit over it. Eventually, you clip through and respawn instantly.
A night of 100 frights UA-camr!? I grew up on this game but nobody I know has ever played it! You've earned a sub!
I’m so thankful for being recommended this channel. I remember being terrified of this game and doing nothing but playing the sandwich minigames
The special effects occurring at different times of the year is an insane attention to detail.
Also the knight's laugh at 1:50 is the same one used for the horseless headless horseman but higher pitched
There are two types of names for anything in programming, whether it be for models, variables, etc.:
" * words you have never heard of in your life * "
and
" Fuck_1 "
there's also things like getResultOfCheckIfIsNotOnFireYet
So much nostalgia, thank you for your dedication to the community!!!
thanks!
Night of 100 frights remake with even more monsters and more areas.
Night of 101 Frights
@@thepartyrockpolice1975 hey the party rock police 19 and yes I love this game so much along with Disney’s piglets big game and other games like this I think this game deserves a remake with new soundtracks and other I think thq nortic can remake this if possible for me people like me that love Scooby doo the Great Dane scary dog and food lover with his best friend shaggy lol get it food lover lol
Man you unlocked a childhood memory I loved this game as a kid I would love to revisit it, still looks good today!
I love the No100F content, speedruns, etc. I can never get enough of this game and glad people are still dedicated to it
"A half hour long video documenting a game I will literally never play? Great, I'll queue up the next 3 videos on the subject too."
I'm glad someone is talking about Night of 100 Frights in big 2025! Such a classic! I revisit it often on my ps2. Let's see if I can apply some of the stuff learned here on my next run of the game. Cheers my friend!🥪🥪🥪
What's your favorite boss soundtrack? Mine was Green Ghost when I was young but has shifted over to Black Knight these days.
I've never even heard of this game, but this was such a fascinating video! Loved it, super entertaining!!
I always had the slight feeling that this game was put together in funny ways.
Its funny seeing what had to have been done to meet deadlines back in the day. I love all these dev mistakes!
YOOO MY FAVOURITE TYPE OF VIDEO ON A CLASSIC
That's the *exact* amount I wanted!
Edit: I love the cursed images that randomly appear sometimes between facts lmao
6:57 Avocado jumpscare had me rolling
saw this last night with like a few hundred views, now it's at 5.2k, glad to see the algorithm treating you nice!
I always thought that the big version of the warp gate in the lab was the thing that powered them all
Not sure why but this game always had the most chill vibes for me even today have yet to find a game like it Great Video!
fact 75: using some precise jumps, its possible to get back to the button in lab 1 that turns off the electric floors upon revisiting the area. if you kill the funland robots and then hit the button, it will respawn them.
Loved it thanks for the upload!
This is exactly the kinda content I need in my life.
And while it's by no means hidden, I was really hoping you'd mention that Scooby-Snacks taste like butterscotch according to this game.
Love this game, it was my whole childhood. Thank you for the hard work on these videos!
Loved this video. Thank you for keeping this game alive ❤
i loved all the smaller details of showing character or furniture models that in normal circumstances we would never get to see! i love learning about all the small differences in the games i love ❤ thank you for making this ⭐️
This is one of my favorite games ever. Thank you dude I love this
Always loved this game as a kid, it's so cool to see that others love it too! Great video
I grew up with this game on PS2.
I fuckin love having a video like this appear on my timeline randomly. I love that someone is obsessing over this game
So cool to see content made on this game. It's still one of my favorites from the that era and I've tried to put as many retro gaming fans onto it as I can.
Yes!!! I'm so glad you dropped another video! Keep up the amazing work
I was very happy with this list. I was expecting to know a lot more facts going in but ended up knowing only about 5 or 6. I’d love more videos like this or on the game in general.
Obscure facts about obscure video games? Hell yeah that's my type of content
This is one of the coolest videos I’ve ever seen in my life
2:30 I actually recognized that when I was a kid! My dad is a huge fan of Batman, so I had those two episodes of the show on DVD.
Great video i didn't know about some of these details, like the unused live counter and health meter, out of bounds objects, unused mastermind dialogue, the d pad changes, and other stuff.
I partially thought I was the only person who ever played this game. One of my all-time favorites. Legendary game, so glad I've found a little community for it.
To me, the most surprising part of this video... is how much childhood PTSD it manages to bring back.
Like, Zoinks, and I thought I had issues, man.
This video is doing numbers. You guys should check out some of the others, especially the elusive skip and final boss videos, they're really good!
It's so cool to see that n100f technical knowledge has advanced so far
There's a gargoyle that spawns in one of the outdoor rooftop areas (don't remember exact level) on top of a little square platform. If you don't have the super slam ability yet, you can jump and charge at him from midair to kill him, and after he's defeated the platform becomes moving and allows you to go return higher in the level. After getting the super slam you're not able to kill this enemy and therefore cannot use this platform
I knew most of them but a few of these were new to me. I'm a little surprised that you didn't mention the Black Knight in Don't Look Down 1 or the floating Jolly Roger is Aghast 2 or 3 though!
I love this game so much. The vibes are immaculate
Awesome video my friend
I've never played this game, but i loved this video 😂
Fun video, though your voice volume is very loud. I still give it a five-star because Scooby-Doo is my favorite. Never knew they made games. Wish they existed via Steam.
I begged for this game in 2001 as a kid. Christmas Day, the over-world was snowing. My birthday, there was fireworks. I thought the programming was magic
Me who has never seen this game before in my life:
Oh wow thank goodness i didn’t quit the game while digging up a flower
I love when devs have fun with out of bounds stuff like making a trigger have a random model when most of the time the engine doesn't need it.
Oh boy a new mildly obscure video game to absorb wildly useless information about
Great video! Looking forward to the regular uploads 😋
This was needed, thanks
Im surprised I knew #6 already. Its the reason why its my favourite song in the game. Everytime I pass that area, i always hum 'scooby dooby doo, looking for you. Scooby dooby doo where are you' in time with the music 😊
Useless!? Better change that title bucko, this is a big win. Epic.
14:19 - I used to do taxes for a company called "Big Ass Fans" down in Florida. They do, in fact, sell big-ass fans for like warehouses and stuff. (I enjoyed this video even though I never even played the game, good stuff)
22:54 didn't expect to see mara sov in a scooby doo video
I never beat or even got far in this game but I just loved exploring the 3d scooby doo environment
Still blows my mind that they got Jeremy Irons, Don Knotts, and Tim Conway to voice characters in this game. It was 2002!
12:08 - "Knock knock! Who's there? Westin! Westin who? West in Peace, Scooby Doo..."
Me, whose name is Weston - 0_0
New N100F video lets goooooooooo
23:54 "I just remembered! We're out here!"
Finally, my exact niche! Subbed!
This was an entertaining watch
I used to have this game on PS2 when I was younger. I never did complete it because I was young and thought it was too hard. I hope to replay it someday.
a lot of the out of bounds objects seem like they might do weird things, or just "yeah i don't know what it does, but if i remove it the game breaks"
8:14 iirc, that graveyard image is used on some SD DVD release menu screens from the time. For example, I think the bluer varient is on the special features on the complete season 1+2 5 dvd set
absolutely fascinating stuff!
Right off the bat I get whiplash hearing the black knight use the same sound effect used for the HHH in TF2
I remember this game... I never actually played through it mind you, I just liked looking at it from time to time as a kid. I need to give it a playthrough at some point.
that ding sound is absolutetly a sonar sound from one of the episodes, I just cant remember which one specifically for hint 58 but its weird i cant remember why i recall it as such though
"I'll start off with the more well known stuff" buddy I've never heard of this game ever
I loved playing this game at my friend's House when I was a kid!
my guess for August 28th is:
- either a private joke (like the birthday of the programmer that put that in
- an error.
For some curious coincidence, August 28th is the 240th day of the year (0xF0) and September 13th is the 256th (0x100)
did anyone looked into the code to see how it is handled?
August 28th is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day which is a day to remember lost pets so that could be a reason
@@fireprober8945 I checked, and it started in 2013, so after the game's released.
Wikipedia and IMDB says the game came out on Xbox on the 26th or the 27th of August.
I really enjoyed the aesthetic of this game, and re-completed it about a year ago. It's games like these where I wish we could just get a true sequel that maintains the original feel and tone. I just want more levels for some of these classic games, not a whole overhaul
Having no warp gate in the Mystery Machine makes since as so many random levels have exits that return to it.
This is cool! Speadrunners really do know every nook and cranny. I'm curious where you get the internal names of assets like the not-anchor stuff with Redbeard. Was there some source leak or are PS2-era games stored 'non-compiled' on the disk? I don't know much about the under the hood technical aspects of console games, aside from that the previous generation N64 games need to be painstakingly decompiled to get human-readable code.
15:52 those red walls make the boats look like giant robot heads.
new perfect video to fall asleep to
I don’t remember seeing anything about this game and yet I know all the sound effects and music. I can’t tell if I played this before as a kid or if there was a different Scooby doo game with the exact same sounds.
my mom used to sing the new scooby-doo movies theme every time i watched the show as a kid and im just now finding out its a real song and not something she made up
14:14 The devs must of been tried that day xD THESE FANS MAN
now THIS is a fine video to watch while eating
So, I always thought that the different sized sea creatures were a feature. As a kid, I thought it was just cool that monsters were a little different from each other. As a teen, I figured that sometimes they wanted them smaller to fit on certain platforms. I guess the truth is just glitches. lol
Thought something similar to the witches. I thought a bunch of them just respawned over time on purpose. Especially if you fell down trying to get the Monster Token in the manor room.
11:34 Those moments in games like this game here are rare, even if it is accidental by the developers, they should be called "My Rescued Angel", because you do not see a glimpse of hope on games like these as much?
Fun video! I'd never heard of this game before, so it was interesting getting a glimpse of it starting from its oddities.
Do you think you could tell me what music starts playing around 22:30? It's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't quite place it.
Bramble Blast from, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The game is fun, old game I grew up with, because my brother got it as a gift.
