Just wanted to say thank you, this video helped fix the problem on my SECOND Fanatec handbrake. Both had the same issue where the handbrake signal is stuck at whatever percentage and then doesn't work at all, even after trying to update the firmware. The internal hardware is just too fragile for a handbrake.
Thanks also help me out a lot mine has also snapped the plastic dowel you should send this to fanatec and hopefully in future they make them with metal dowels
Hi I'm disassembling mine because the plate the lever is attached to is bent. But what do I need to do to remove the axle with the plastic bushings and potentiometer? The part you skip at about 2:53. Hope you can help :-)
@@TheTReed78 You should try the hall sensor conversion kit that I made. Does away with the pot entirely. :) No permanent mods to the HB needed. Search Fanatec handbrake Hall Sensor on ebay or PM me on SimRacing reddit or discord for a lower price. It's a 20 minute install and you no longer have the issue of the pot dying again which it will more often with a worn HB.
Had this exact issue, I tried a similar fix as well but the new pot died soon after anyway. Eventually I came up with a Hall sensor conversion kit, selling it to anyone who wants one on ebay. Search for Fanatec Handbrake Hall Sensor (direct messaging me i can sell direct cheaper, for example on simracing discord, or reddit also going by bn880)
I made something even better actually: a hall sensor conversion kit :) No permanent mods to the HB needed. How did you remove the final part where the potentiometer sits?
Did you find a replacement bushing as mine is warped and the plastic nub came off as well.
Thanks so much , your video Help me to solve same issue wich my Handbrake
that piece should be metal or a harder plastic

I just used a little drill bit and then broke the end of it off to use as a dowel.
Good video Kyle. This would be a much more permanent fix.
How do you take the damn thing apart?

@bn880 I don't have discord or a reddit account. Could you email me at treed781@gmail.com?
Would this still work on a ps5 with this hall sensor mod?
Mine just started registering false inputs from side to side feels very flimsy. it's a bad design.
Someone should make a direct replacement part for that.
