Jazz musician here, bit of an ignoramus with regard to operatic singing. I've never heard anyone toss off fast 16th notes all over the range like this and didn't know it could even be done. I'm in awe of her talent. I've gotta hear more.

I don't agree. I'm not jealous or mean or whatever. I don't like her voice. I'm not agressing no one, just tell my feeling. I prefer other singers. It's not hate, it's just a matter of taste and preference. We are not all made from a one and only mould and I have the right to tell I don't like a voice. Maybe I like another singer that you don't like. It doesn't mean you are a hater, just that you have other tastes than mine. Still, I don't like her. I have been listening to singers for more than 20 years, I still listening to Bartoli because I'm open-minded and I want to find what people like in her voice but I'm sorry to tell I don't like her voice.

Ce que je trouve incroyable, c'est que des musiciens comme Rossini aient imaginé ce genre d'oeuvre puisqu'ils étaient eux-mêmes incapables de chanter leurs créations. C'est d'une complexité telle qu'il est difficile de comprendre comment sont nées de telles créations lyriques dans l'esprit d'un musicien... La voce di Cecilia Bartoli spazia mirabilmente dal registro di mezzosoprano a quello di contralto, timbro tanto amato da Rossini che per questa voce creò i ruoli eccelsi di Tancredi, Isabella, Rosina e di Angelina-Cenerentola. La Bartoli è senza paragone la più grande interprete attuale di Rossini, come dei Sommi del Settecento, in primis Haendel, Vivaldi, Leo ecc..
