Cecilia looks around connects with the conductor the lead player the immense audience then smiles and carries them all away- she is a magnificent blessing to all - no one like her
Mozart was truly a genius, writing this religious piece of music like an opera aria. The Tu Vergine part especially is a beautifully moving love song to the Blessed Mother. Cecilia performs it masterfully. Bravo.
Every time I watch her, she moves me to tears. Her technique is faultless, her taste impeccable and musicality divine. Do not doubt the thousands of hours of work she has put into everything she does. She makes it sound so easy, it isn't. Mozart would have bowed before her, jumped up hugged and laughed manically.
In St. Louis, MO in 1991 I went to hear Kathleen Battle sing "Mozart Arias." Hers was the first rendition of the "Alleluia" I'd ever heard, and it may be still the best. I did not realize the piece was so difficult to sing. Battle made it seem easy, but it was beautiful.
Marvelous! Has anyone noticed how Cecilia seems to have done her homework, and has added a bit of extra edge to her tone for this performance? This work was composed for the famous male castrato Venanzio Rauzzini (1746-1810) while Mozart was in Italy in 1773 for performances of his opera "Lucio Silla"; if anyone has ever heard the rare early recordings (ca. 1902) of the last of the surviving castrati, Alessandro Moreschi (1858-1922), one hears even through the static the peculiar edge his voice had. I commend Cecilia for this extra bit of artistry!

Przepiękna śpiewaczka i kobieta. Cudny Głos jakiego jeszcze nie słyszałam. Niech Wielki Bóg błogosławi Cecilie Bartoli i chroni ją w swych dłoniach. Dar ma od Boga.
Bravo! and Bravo!!!!! This by far the performance for listeners of a life time! Interpretation is is flawless. Not to mention execution! And Muti.....well, I have nothing but wishing I could have played under his direction. Flew jets, instead.
Precision, technique and tuning are something what make Cecilia an unique singer at Mozart's and baroque repertoire...no one - like hers...her Mozart is like pearls falling down on the mirror, just - lush!
Wielki Talent.
Brava! Complimenti al Maestro Muti! Anthony - from the UK
Simply perfect! She is an artist and she just does not sing: she is giving an artistic interpretation of this music that if we put in the dusty and rigid frame of the sacred music is just deadly boring! Nobody or almost no one is so good to give feelings by singing a sacred text. To feel each word is that the first duty of a singer. Make art out of this is just brilliant! Of course Riccardo Muti is a genius in conducting!!! All the rest of the comments about her voice to forward or strange vowels... these comments smell as old dust on useless books forgotten on the higher shelves. I’m sorry you sound just envious of her art. Good bye for ever! W Cecilia Bartoli and Riccardo Muti we love you!!! I am sorry for my bad English btw

A super Mozart orchestra as the Wiener, a very good director, inspired when conduct the author of Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Nozze di Figaro, ecc. like Muti and the super star of soprano and mezzo soprano interpreters of Mozart like stunning Cecilia Bartoli: what else? The results are marvelous in terms of energy, harmony, perfect singing, love of music. All these thing where? In Salzburg... Magic!
TEXT Exsultate, jubilate, o vos, animae beatae, dulcia cantica canendo; cantui vestro respondendo, psallant aethera cum me. Tu virginum corona, tu nobis pacem dona, tu consolare affectus unde suspirat cor. Alleluja!
This is a wonderful performance of Mozart's "Exsultate." The orchestra provided excellent accompaniment. However, the singer seemed to exert more strain in her voice than I'd prefer, and the tempo was a bit brisk and was a bit emotive rather an aplomb presentation. Therefore, I am still searching for the perfect rendition of "Exsultate."
There is something that is unappealing about this performance....she masters the technique very well obviously but she displays it non stop in the detriment of true musicality....she does not transport me anywhere....Arleen Auger had both and once one knows there is better out there, one can't be satisfied with less.... This does not take away from the respect that I have for her and her art...
Bartoli is a Dugazon. It’s a soubrette mezzo-soprano. They are full of zeal bubble and nervous excitement allied with a dark tone of a contralto. Hence everything she sings has this quality. When she relaxes makes her voice even smaller this is the only way to calm the corps d’esprit inherent. It is what it is.
She "masters" the technique only by making it all, barring the slow p & pp passages, ugly. And, yes, what we have said does "take away" from our respect for her singing & her art. Both are smudged here.
Cecilia Bartoli is a great flexible singer, this goes without saying. I like her very much. In the first part, "Exultate" singing the vowels that are written, Bartoli, for me, has a habit of projecting too much the 'forwaard vowels, 'e' , as in yes and 'e' as in 'take' and the 'i' vowel as in 'he'. This spoils the placid soft vocal line of the melody. Also, demonstrating the exuberance of the first part her runs seem to me more like trills than the clear cut runs of Mozart. The second part of the motet is fine, as is the last, Exultate Jubilate.
The art of singing in the highest perfection - performed with love and joy in music... - I love the Bartoli!
Cecilia looks around connects with the conductor the lead player the immense audience then smiles and carries them all away- she is a magnificent blessing to all - no one like her

Virginum Corona non si riferisce alla Vergine Maria ma a Gesù Cristo.
I'm astonished with this tempo. Great voice and artist.

Бартоли великая певица. Но, такого прекрасного оркестра и талантливого дерижера я не слышала никогда. Спасибо Вам огромное.
Nobody will sing so beautifully Mocart and Vivaldi as Cecilia Bartoli. And such a wonderful and half-performing technique. Bravissimo !!!
Almost anyone worthy of the name singer can sing it better! Sounds like a shooting party.

Celilia is a diamond in a opera world. The technique is so sharp and fluent . She is very special and she feels a music so deep.
She feels the music so deeply... or pretends to? Bad taste to SHOW so much in Mozart. His music says it all.

Crips is right! Sorry. Irresistible.
I always loved the Emma Kirby version for over 20 years . However having just seen and heard this I'm beginning to question my loyalty.
Question neither your loyalty nor your ear!
