  • Thanks for checking out my review of the Discraft First Run Z Cicada!
I don't love flippy discs but the cicada is something else, it has great turn without burning over and can hyzer flip to flat from almost any angle!
In this video, I'm playing 4 holes at the 4 wing Disc Golf Course located in Cold Lake Alberta. I hope you enjoy it!

Got an ace with my first run Cicada during the first round I played with it. To me it throws a lot like a River just maybe a hair more stable and less likely to turn and burn if you power it up, but the Z plastic first run Cicadas are probably the most stable ones so far of the available plastics.

Nice! Congrats on the ace! Always a good feeling. I'm very curious about how the ESP version flies! I'm guessing a bit less stable then if the z is more stable

Ha! Seriously. I think they left it low because its on that little hill but it creates some low putts for us taller individuals

It's a 7 speed disc. When you throw 350 its going to flip. I bought the first run. Just got the ESP. I prefer the ESP plastic. i Throw 300 tops And the Cicada fly as its number says it does

That's not necessarily true! If you throw things with the correct amount of spin you can get any disc to fly straight for you. If the Cicada was true to its numbers it wouldn't flip at any distance with the right amount of power and spin. I can throw my buzzzes 300 ft with no flip in sight and also my stalkers and Athenas go straight and still have a bit of fade at the 350-375 range!
Knowing the cicada is a bit flippier explains why it would flip at 350 like it does but I agree, if you power down on it it will go straight
