I clicked the trailer tour video from my for you homepage. I watched the video and enjoyed it,but expected you guys to be a well experienced 100k plus subscriber channel. Then I saw you have like 4K. So cool. This channel is going to grow well.
Thank you so much! It’s been an exciting couple of weeks over here! lol. Info gathering: what kind of content would you like to see from us? We have a broad range of things in the works, but like to hear directly from viewers!
@@kageandellie show us what living in the van is like. Daily routines and such. Get in depth with what it’s like to live the way you do. All huge channels I follow about van life have some element of these things.
Sudden combustion on a light rainy day... absolute gold!!! On a serious note, super cool to see fellow Canadians making this work. That trailer video earned my subscribe, your professionalism earned my respect. One day I hope for Van Living too!
Haha! Thanks for watching Steve! Ellie and I really had a debate on whether or not we leave that scene in there.. it hurt the retention a bit, but I really like to reward those who are are paying attention for the subtle bits! What do you hope to do with your version of van living?
If that hurt the retention then they weren't following you for who you are. Their loss. Van life is hopefully going to be my way of visiting my children. Having PTSD and being a widower is a lonely life. I'm hoping that having a moving home will help me get out more. I'm going to start with car camping this fall and see if its something I want to explore more of
That was AWESOME! Keep sharing!!! More, more, more! Your style is hilarious, well-edited, and full of adventure! Also, props to the shout out to Mr. Collard from Grade 10 Geography (I was in that class right alongside of you haha!)
Hi Lisa! I remember us being the class pranksters on Mr. Collard! lol I remember when we spun his desk around 180 degrees then put everything back to look normal... he didn't notice it until he tried to sit down! 🤣 Thank you for the feedback! We have lots of stuff in the pipeline of projects, just limited time to get them done! Our next video is going to be about security, some rig work with a donated product, but after that we're back on the road again!
FINALLY!!! Another brilliant video from you! So happy to read the other comments on here reiterating what we have been saying to you from day one…..YOUR VIDEOS ARE OUTSTANDING. Keep them coming please. 🥰🥰
love it! As our trip comes to a close we're going to miss life on the road. Glad to see you were able to help out on the island I know that's been on their to do list for a couple years. (and exciting to hear about the partnership!)
Great to see another video from you fun-loving vanlife kids 😄. I have yet to get up to the Toby or Manitoulin area but got close a few winters ago while doing a Lake Huron Provincial Park tour on a Saturday with the plans to have the last stop be in Tobermory. Unfortunately, an fast approaching severe snow squall had me turning around just before reaching Sauble Falls Provincial Park but I plan to go camping up this next summer. I have a feeling that working on that island didn't feel too much like work 😉. I mean, how amazing is that to take a boat to get to the job site on a private island, and being able to work outside (as long as it isn't pouring down rain or the bugs are trying to carry you away lol). Looking forward to your next video, and Adia and I hope you two are doing well!!! 🥰
Hi Steve! Thanks for the comment! ❤️ Sounds like it must have been some really bad weather to get up there! Summer is going to be a WAAAY better time! At first the job was work, but by the end of being there and it being about 2.5 days in total.. we felt quite happy to not leave! I'm hoping they call me up again for more work at some point! And sorry I haven't gotten back on your email! 😢 I haven't forgotten, but we've been so non-stop busy! Even right now, Ellie is wanting me to push off comment answering to send out invoices! AHHHH!!!! (We're on our way back KW direction from working in North Bay.. we landed at Killbear for a couple nights and we're hitting the road in a couple hours! Oh and we renovated a bus for someone as well! Tell you more about that later!
@@kageandellie I know that you and Ellie are busy nomadic workers so no worries at all my friend ☺️👍. I have heard lovely things about Killbear and it is on my Provincial Park list ❤️🏕️. Safe travels to you both!!! 🥰
Thanks! I’d say probably because we aren’t consistent enough as my day job is what pays the bills and this is a hobby for fun! Aaaand I can’t say every episode we put out is going to be this scenic… we’ll try, but this is going to be hard to beat! Also, this type of editing takes a long time to make up a finished product. All that said.. more is in the way!
I really have enjoyed your videos. Great to see someone doing a mobile life without doing an upper management online job while riding around in a million dollar class A rv.
Haha thanks! Ya all of those positions were taken, so this was plan B! It certainly is more challenging and complicated at times, but we’re so happy to have finally made it to the point we are at now!
We have more in the works and doing the best we can to get some stuff out! (This video actually have over 60 hrs of work go into it! I need more time! OR a faster computer!
How do you get work when on the road? You're an Electrician I assume. I wish I had that level of knowledge. Our builds take a lot of research and sifting through mis-information as US Electrical code, is... well, and DIY info is obviously, even worse. We're starting a mobile overland build on a Lightning Electric truck, and a 20ft Aluminum Car carrier, initially as a dual use, as I still race cars. Might still be a pipe dream, but we're starting with mobilizing our off-grid Truck charger, and changing over from another brand to Victron.
Ok wow! That sounds like quite the project! I definitely need to check that out! Sorry about the delayed response, but I actually put the answer to your question in our latest video 🤪. Thankfully in Canada we have a pretty robust electrical that is fairly steady across the country. I have contacts that even fly up from southern Ontario to the northern territories to do safety inspections…I technically am licensed to work in every province, except Quebec. However, RUNNING, your own business in each province can be a little more tricky and require some paperwork. We’re hoping to do the Maritime provinces on a work tour next summer.
Hey! Thanks for subscribing! We did build out everything ourselves! First the van in 2018-2019 (and more during Covid lol) then the trailer over 2022-2024, mainly on weekends and vacation!

The algorithm is weird sometimes. It recommended to me this channel out of nowhere and i was very impressed with the production quality and the level of equipment used and editing techniques. Then i was confused by how few videos there were on your channel. No where near enough content for the level of polish these have to develop naturally. Its weird to see such a high degree of editing and production quality from a small channel that will post a handful of videos and then just not post anything else for half a year, no one does that. But whatever, not worth making a big deal of it. Then you posted the video you talked about in your trailer walkthrough immediately after I subscribed, five months after you said you would post it. Weird. The kind of weird that happens when you get into a pay dispute with a production and promotion company that uses contractual loopholes to hold your footage hostage. I was starting to get paranoid about the algorithm and corporate insiders again, but suddenly it made sense when you included a bit at the end about the channel blowing up. That's the kind of thing that could prompt renewed interest in a hobby you aren't sure is worth investing effort into. Semi unhinged rambling aside, i really enjoy your content. I too am also an electrician who is fascinated by the freedom and simplicity of vanlife but have not quite been able to make the leap to full timing it. Closest ive gotten is by going industrial and living in my fifth wheel while on contract to milk the most out of the living allowance. But i still have property to go back to when off shift. Land is a little bit cheaper in Sask, especially in the smaller farming communities so i have never faced quite the same level of pressure to cut back on expenses. That trailer you made was inspired and i wish i had one of my own. Here's hoping you keep producing more content and don't just fall off the earth again.
