@@sunapila he is making videos on the topics which are relevant for the audience and his channel's agenda. That's why rather on reacting or breaking down the whole trailer, he just takes up a element or scene which standouts on the Technical Canvas.

The Hyena biting the stick is a composite shot, with the background being the clean plate. You can notice that even tho the sunlight on the hands have been nailed, the hand lacks texture. On account with the hand being well lit, the texture of the skin should be visible. But overall since its a 2 second shot it looks amazing, since your eye goes to the Hyena and not the character.
also they used hand cutouts (if you see in the bottom left you can see the cutout for a short duration)
Even I felt that the hands felt off with those textures but apparently they are real confirmed by Shamim Bhai
I'm not into graphics designing but I love drawing and designing things , and everytime I watch your video I learn something new
for those who say the hyena shot is composite, thats a great compliment for the vfx team. firslty, its not legal/allowed to use wild animals for movies. secondly the production house spent 15 crores for this sequence. And finally the whole hyena sequence was done by MPC bangalore, a division of technicolor, they did the tiger ntr intro scene in RRR, and mostly worked on hollywood biggies. Also, in VFX its all about decieving the user. you cant pause and pixel peep. if we do that, any hollywood mulimillion movie scene will look odd. not saying its wrong, but given the budget and time constraints, this output is phenomenal. this movie was shot in february this year. so they had a crunched timeline. hollywood usually has very high budget, bigger team and ofcouse comparatively longer timeline. so it cant be compared 1 to 1. but this will be a great start.

For me the hero being vulnerable is the best part as the audience connects with those types of characters easily like everyone fears for their family's life, worrying and breaking down in tense and serious situations and then when the hero fights back and rises, the audience cheers for him and wants him to win ❤❤

But the car chase scenes were looking very bad. I remember how good lokesh did in Kaithi but here it looks weak.

In my opinion car scene was insane
Great job on the trailer analysis. I am also a visual designer with over a decade of experience. Firstly, thats not a jump cut, its a "Match cut". and its not new. its been there for decades. Again good catch on the lil camera zoom when the hero flick his arm. Regarding the Hyena seq, all live action + CG shots are composited only as you know. But sometimes they composite with CGI or real footage. Here the Hyena sequence is completely CGI. its not composite footage. the Fur simulation and light matchin is absolutely insane. done by MPC company in Bangalore. they are part of Technicolor. You could have mentioned there name too, just my opinion. also the Car collison scenes were created by PhantomFX. there is a quality difference here, but not too shaby. Thanks for this kinda videos. Great to start discussions and good for the community. Keep em coming.

The hero is indeed vulnerable, but his alter ego resembles the posters more which wasn't shown in the trailer much. The movie itself is named "Leo" which is the younger version of the hero. It could be dual role as well but I'm betting it isn't.

I think the reason you felt personality clash is the real personality of Vijay's character is hidden....
Everyone is comparing this film to History Of Violence and I don't think it is exactly that film, but I think the swag filled character is kept hidden by the protagonist, like an Alter Ego.
