    Hi! Is it possible to use less sugar for both the meringue and buttercream? If yes, what measurements do you suggest? Thanks for the recipe by the way! I love silvanas but I can't handle very sweet sweets 😅

    • @yummyph
      @yummyph  7 років тому +6

      Hello! This recipe already uses less sugar. :) Also, this recipe uses powdered sugar, not regular sugar, and thus, isn't as sweet as it would be if you used regular sugar. :) The meringue already has as little sugar as it can have, and we do not suggest altering the recipe for it to be successful. What you can tweak is the buttercream. The powdered sugar can be lessened even further to as little as 1/2 cup if you're really not into sweets. Good luck!

    • @yummyph
      @yummyph  4 роки тому +1

    do we need to preheat the oven? if yes, how many Celsius?

    • @yummyph
      @yummyph  4 роки тому +2

      Hi! Unless the recipe says otherwise, all baking recipes require the oven to be preheated or else your dish will not be evenly baked, it will take double the time it says it will bake, and it will melt your ingredients before it can rise, leading to a failed recipe. Also, if you watch until 0:44, it says 325 degrees F that, when converted, is around 160 degrees C. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching our videos. :)

    • @yummyph
      @yummyph  6 років тому +5

      Hello! Meringue is a really sticky mixture so using a silicone mat or parchment paper is really recommended. Also, the meringue cookies need to be cooked fully until crisp so it has a better chance to be removed cleanly from the parchment. If not, bake is little more until the bottoms are crisp. :) Good luck and thanks for watching our videos! :)

    • @yummyph
      @yummyph  5 років тому +2

      Hello! Cream of tartar is an acid that helps stabilize and make the egg whites easier to whip to stiff peaks. The meringue will rise in the oven but it will deflate again since it's mostly air. Don't worry that it does. It's normal. :) Hope you try our recipe. It's easy and delicious. Thanks for watching our videos. :)
