Mac Miller is not just your ordinary producer. He just started producing too. Under the name "Larry Fisherman" his style is minimal and not so in your face like hip hop should be but once it hits the mixers and masters hands, then that will come to life, and not to mention once he spits on his beats... its called, originality. Mac Miller, young GOAT in the making.
It's one thing to be a really skilled lyricist with a nice flow. It's a whole other level to be able to make your music from scratch and be the writer, producer, mixer and editor of your music. Mac was a musical genius except he wasn't all egostical like Kanye. R.I.P. Mac
Mac wasn't always the producer, and he didn't mix. ALL the respect in the world for Mac and his music... but yeah he collaborated with loads of musicians, producers, engineers, etc... to make his albums come to life the way they did. that's not to say he didn't produce some of his own tracks, just not the majority of them man.
@Briley Stewart did I ever say he produced all his music? I just said he could and my favorite projects he mostly produced and also played instruments on. I pretty much love all his projects that he produced under the name Larry Fisherman , Faces, and of course Swimming. I have watched documentaries on him and have tons of unreleased stuff too..again I never said he produced, edited and mixed all his songs. I just said he could my and favorite tracks he pretty much made in his own studio with his friends. He did also have a lot of talented people around him most of the time so of course they helped each other out on each other's tracks.
***** dude i'm sorry but you're just wrong, kanye west known for sampling averages like 1.25 samples a song, mf doom who has production built around sampling has majority of the time 1 sample in each song. Not very many people are pulling 3 to 4 samples for every song they do, for a regular artist to do that is an insane amount of clearing time, just praying every sample in just one song clears. To have 3 to 4 samples each song you have to be a huge artist with alot of money and good lawyers. The only people I can think of off the top of my head who use maybe like 2 samples in every song as an average is like Jay Z and Nas also thats really only in their huge singles in throw away tracks/ filler tracks they usually have no or just 1 sample. I'll give you that singles are using a shit ton of samples but overall no one is using 3 to 4 samples in the majority of your music, even saying 2 to 3 is really high i mean Alchemist uses about 2.5 samples a song.
***** you picked one song with more than two dj's on it, that doesn't mean the average song has 4 samples. That's literally a song ment to have an insane amount of samples LOL you cant just chose one extreme case of something to further prove your case.

He's so much more relatable to me than I had first thought, the more I see the more I can appreciate what a great loss it is for him to not be around. All the best ones are taken too soon.
Street beats. It's not for everybody. I found it dope. It'd take a few listens to fall into it. But I immediately get the direction it went. People don't understand this stuff. Only purists.
EnlightenedRap that the concepts in "enlightened" rap have been around for centuries in philosophy, and what makes it into their songs is so dumbed down it's literally just vague references to the work. It's one step further than the line you're talking about.... drawing an eye in a triangle and passing it off as metaphysical knowledge. That's the fucking irony you dumb shit.
EnlightenedRap Your name is the most stereotypical take on the exact thing that you're hating on. The fact that you can't see that makes this whole ordeal even funnier
Rest in Paradise, condolences to the family and loved ones affected with his loss. When I heard him say "take care of my son" I said YES, this is what I'm saying, artist's like Amy Winehouse and Mac Miller are surrounded with a team of folks, and the thing that gets me is how much these artists can spiral out with not a single person stepping and providing a reality check, to slow down, to know that putting themselves first is a privilege they have earned. It's crazy, each day without him will always be a surprise
When I was 13-14 I tried getting into beats , I’m no successful beat maker now at 22 but this video was one I went back to all the time coming home from school , I wanted to have his identical setup , I used logic like he did , I bought the same Mac , I got the same midi , he introduced music making to me like no other person will ever ,I miss you man

Charles Reynolds damn foreal dude
i used to never like mac and now im obsessed with his craft
He's so much more relatable to me than I had first thought, the more I see the more I can appreciate what a great loss it is for him to not be around.
All the best ones are taken too soon.
I still come back to this video to find inspiration. Miss you Mac
Street beats. It's not for everybody. I found it dope. It'd take a few listens to fall into it. But I immediately get the direction it went. People don't understand this stuff. Only purists.
What Mac made was good, but it was in no way a purist beat or "street", and I don't think Mac would even make that claim.
Sue Donem you mean Larry, right?
EnlightenedRap that the concepts in "enlightened" rap have been around for centuries in philosophy, and what makes it into their songs is so dumbed down it's literally just vague references to the work. It's one step further than the line you're talking about.... drawing an eye in a triangle and passing it off as metaphysical knowledge. That's the fucking irony you dumb shit.
EnlightenedRap You're whack. Sorry bro.
EnlightenedRap Your name is the most stereotypical take on the exact thing that you're hating on. The fact that you can't see that makes this whole ordeal even funnier
I think this is why I love Mac's music so much. It's him in each note, each tempo, each beat. Literally him.
When his Dad asked us to take care of his son. I cried. We failed.
Hearing Mac say “waaaawwwwwww!” Is always therapeutic
I'll watch this and i'll keep watching this until I get tired of it. R.I.P. man. You were an amazing artist.
A true master his craft... Gone way too soon, but gone and never forgotten... Rest in paradise Malcolm. ❤️🙏🏼🕊
Earl Sweatshirt should be next!!!
YES!!
the fuck are you talking about. read again
This literally the dopest beat in the series....he killed it
True artist, he was music
Damn man I just watched This. Rest Up 🌹🌹🌹
Has that type of mid 90s beat, rolling up one, enjoying the days... RIP Malcolm🙏
Mac was special, a true lover of music and the art.
R.I.P king
You continue to touch and inspire the people.
i dont get the hate, this is a pretty typical weird beat that mac always does
Fuck the haters, they dunno shit.
btw thx for uploading that sean leon album
Your right..shows who really listens to his music..
Weird Beats are the best .
That inside outside Beat is wicked af
Great job Larry! Nice to see you and Mac work together on these sounds to make this beat come to life 🙏!
Woow wasn't expecting that very original and creative flip man has some prog rock feel to it to
This is why Faces' beats were so out there.. but i love every second of the entire mixtape..
When I was 13-14 I tried getting into beats , I’m no successful beat maker now at 22 but this video was one I went back to all the time coming home from school , I wanted to have his identical setup , I used logic like he did , I bought the same Mac , I got the same midi , he introduced music making to me like no other person will ever ,I miss you man
run on sentences tapes were hella underrated.
Rip to the legend
Desperado really really good EP’S
Literally some of his best work 🌹
What are y’all talking about? I’ve never heard of these tapes where they at?
UA-cam em, they have both full versions on here
Benny Mitchell alright, thanks
The only two times I've cried as an adult were when Mac died and my dad died, miss you Mac.
the soul you see created in this episode is unmatched, i watch this multiple times and the inspiration he pulls from these songs baffle me to this day. wasn't afraid to be him, we will never have another mac miller, rest in power ❤️
Man had such a good ear for music. Rest Easy Mac.
