    "...'cause it'd be so easy to throw a beat on and rap and call it an album and continue. I have to expose some part of myself that I'm uncomfortable with, with every album."
    And that right there, is the mark of a true artist.

      Yes. No shade to ariana but I'm always so curious about that dynamic because she's just a popstar who has a whole team creating every aspect of her career. But maybe they were creative in their private time, I know they made a lot of music together. It would just be weird to be so passionate about your music and music in general, and then dating someone who doesn't have that same authentic passion.

    Man. I'm 42. Been playing since i was 14. This person just inspired me to a whole other degree. Having multiple disabilities, I'm far from the player I imagined I would be. Mac Miller just clarified something mystical about being a musician. I'm late in discovering this angel who's light no longer shines. God keep him, and may he be at peace. And one more thing, Fender just earned more respect with this highlight by acknowledging that, musicians can approach the guitar, and bass, however they feel like it. No matter the skill. Play for the sake of playing.

    I didn't even know this dude played guitar. Never really listened to his music, I know he's a pretty big name in the rap scene and has been known to play some cool indie covers (Bright Eyes). My question is, why are people mad that Fender featured something about him? All I see here is a dude's love for music and guitar, not to mention that he has a really cool tone. I also didn't know he played bass and keys, looks like a pretty talented guy. He looks like someone who is passionate about making music and enjoys the process. That in itself is inspiring, so why not feature him in a Fender video? Hell, if I didn't play guitar and I was a young kid watching this video, I know for sure I would be inspired to pick up a guitar and create something.

    I'm a guitarist and I don't normally listen to rap. But I do like Mac Miller, to bad we lost him so early. I remember a time before hi could play when I found out Mac played. I sat in my room in the dark with hrapdhimes in wishing I could play what he was. This video isn't about rap or rock or any debate. Its the passion for music. And I think that should bring us all together now. I forgot that Mac played actually, and seeing this is all that reminded me. I'm glad I found this, this is much more inspiring to me than seeing Eddie vanhalen play eruption. Sure vanhalen was obviously a much better guitarist than Mac. But this is inspiring because its just him being humble and making music as a one man show. I love it

    • @adamk6299
      @adamk6299 3 роки тому

      Wow people 2 years ago were crazy! More impressive/inspiring than eruption? A 2 minute video of Mac talking mostly with a faint guitar riff/arpeggio on repeat in the background?
      That’s more inspiring than ERUPTION when it comes to guitar?! Or you mean rap because in that case it’s just a weird comparison, no one would want to hear Eddie rap. And it certainly wouldn’t have inspired anyone.
      People that listen to rap say the craziest things, in another video someone claimed Mac was the most diverse/creative artist in the history of music.
      No disrespect but that’s not even close to accurate and is insulting to those that came before him. If you like rap great but if you compare Mac and Van Halen you’re tripping.

    • @brandonashley5872
      @brandonashley5872 3 роки тому

      @@adamk6299 no you completely misunderstood, to be clear Mac Miller is no where near the talent level of Eddie. What I was saying was it's more inspiring to ME (my opinion) to see Mac Miller putting all of this music together himself than it is for me to see Eddie shred eruption. Personally for me learning guitar was never a grandeur power trip where all I wanted to do was learn amazing scales so I could make awesome solos. It was simply the act being able to be creative and make music. That's why I found it creative and that's my two cents.

    • @adamk6299
      @adamk6299 3 роки тому

      @@brandonashley5872 Oh gotcha that’s understandable, I was thinking you meant a more impressive technical ability guitar wise or something.
      Eruption is a total pain in the ass to learn particularly note for note (I’m not bragging because I’ve never even bothered attempting to learn it all)
      It requires a level of technique/skill not many guitarists can even pull off so I was thinking you were batshit crazy if you meant to compare the 2 which you didn’t I just read it that way.

    • @adamk6299
      @adamk6299 3 роки тому

      @@brandonashley5872 The thing you’re wrong about is learning eruption leading to a power trip being a negative thing. If you can nail it note for note you should receive a card in the mail that explains how and why you are better than everyone else that can’t do the same.
      Why do you think people spend all that time learning the song? The “I’m Better Than You card” obviously. Guitarists love proving their superiority so now you have a readily available card that spells it out for them.

    I miss Mac so much. He is one of the main reasons I even got into guitar, and I never thought I would take it so seriously.. It has become my life the past 7-8 years.. All my money goes to it as well as time lol. I come back to this video a lot, especially for his words on speaking through the instrument so many great guitarists mention. I truly feel that now. I've always been deep into music and hip hop since a child and being raised on it, but I was also always too scared to show my voice, or "sing" etc as I have a rather weak voice.. The guitar and piano completely changed that for me. The expression you can get through a guitar is insane, it really depends on the day, and it will be a journey in your mind and hands that can take you anywhere and express how you're feeling whether it is just simple jazz chords verbed out, to dark dark blues, or angsty punk chords. Everyday it can be something new and be a let-out of emotions and energy!

      If you disagree you are a close minded dumbass dude. Its so ridiculous to hate on different music because of the genre. All music is great. Macs gotten so much better as a rapper and just artist in general. Hes amazing.

    people need to stop hating. why wouldn't Mac miller rep fender. hes a great musician who plays guitar well. plenty people in hip hop do. for ex big krit, tye $, rory, james fauntleroy, yelawolf, post Malone and Steve j . fenders not trying to be "hip" or "cool" by working with Mac. they're showing that you don't have to be in a rock or country band to play guitar. get over yourself lol

      JustintheJ to be fair your right, I just get the feeling it's not authentic because I'm watching him play and have almost no clue besides some basic power chords but speak so highly of what it means to be able to sit down and express yourself, but I don't have anything wrong with people with 0 skill playing it just doesn't seem right coming from him

    RIP Mac Miller
    but yeah it doesn't shock me that a bunch of you guitar nerds stuck in the 90s are bitter that while he has that one instrument down reasonably enough to make records, he's also got the ability to produce as well giving him access to an infinite amount MORE sounds. Modern day composers, producers are, but he could rap too? And sing, reasonably well enough, meanwhile you're still paying for your shit and he got it for free most likely for his endorsement xD stay salty while rock continues to die that'll really achieve what you want it to I guarantee it /s

    • @voteZDLR
      @voteZDLR 6 років тому +5

      I am not hating on guitars or guitar players, I play guitar myself. No, I am hating on the people who were hating here I presume because certain other people who play guitar maybe were like shocked or appalled that someone who did hip hop was featured here. I don't hate on any legitimate artists anywhere in fact I defend them as I did here, that's all

  • @ajsepeda7

    My girlfriend is inlove with him…. I never listened to him until 2021 just didn’t think he was anything other than a typical 2010 era rapper which isn’t my style…. But riding in the car with her I’d constantly hear good songs and be like wait who’s this!? And it was always Mac Miller…. Now to see this and see how talented he was musically not just lyrically clever over someone else’s music I’m really disappointed I ate so many shrooms at the concert of him and wiz Khalifa or like him n kid cudi that obviously I can’t even remember who was on stage much less a single thing he performed
