  • On May 12th, 2018, The Somers Fire Department conducted a tanker drill with mutual aid departments. Tankers were filled utilizing the dry hydrant on Camp Rd, made the trip down Stafford and Mountain Rd and came back to Camp Rd to dump. The dump site contained 3 dump tanks. Squad 246 drafted from the dump site and pumped their water to Squad 146, which was flowing water through it’s deck gun master stream. Thank you to West Stafford FD, Ellington FD, Crystal Lake FD, and Hampden, MA FD for coming to help and train with us!

Looked to be a very well organized water shuttle. How many GPM were you able achieve.

firefightingmailman Cannot remember for sure. We had 1500’ of LDH between the drafting pumper and the pumper flowing water. Believe we had a few master streams going. Again, as far as exact numbers I’m not sure.
