Chicken Leg Quarters - Big Easy

  • We found some chicken legs with the backs attached at our local grocery store for a great price! So, what do we do with them? Throw them in the Big Easy Oil less turkey fryer!
But first, we're going to separate the legs from the thighs. Tracey steps in and shows us how to separate the legs and thighs. And we also learn that the tail is sometimes called the Pope's Nose. Weird huh?
I throw some Pampered Chef Jamaican Jerk rub on the pieces, and after 35 minutes in the Big Easy, they turn out amazing! The skin is nice and crispy. If you want to know how to get crispy chicken skin, just go with the Big Easy turkey fryer.
The entire meal turned out awesome, as it always does!

I made a whole cut up chicken on the Big Easy last weekend. It’s one of my favorite ways to make chicken. Thanks for sharing Chris. O’Yeah, learn to cut the Chicken Bro. Here’s a hint: on the back side of the leg there is a line that goes between the leg and thigh, cut along that line, it will separate the two with ease.

I think I'll be able to handle the cutting next time. Tracey's got some great knife skills.

In addition to my previous comment I subscribed and hit the thumbs up. I just got the leg racks and I'm going to put whole quarters on it and see if they will stay put with the additional weight. If that works I may even try chicken halves on the leg racks as well. Thanks for the idea of the extra racks, I like to cook in big batches most of the time. Speaking of time, it's time to season my new Big Easy and get started on the chicken.

Nice looking leg quarters. To find the joint turn them upside down and cut the fat line and you will hit it every time.

Awesome looking food! I was going to use a leg quarter on my Mango Jalapeño video this week and I couldn’t find any at my local grocery store (the upscale grocery store in town so I was a little disappointed) so I ended up doing pork chops instead.

The pork chop seemed to work out pretty darn good I'd say!
