Good defender quality
The good defender are the one getting shaken up , thats the truth
@@adelait4313 no it ain't Im a lock up defender type in a league in our town and I can say that the ones who are good at defending are the ones who can catch up.. if you just can predict your opponents next move then that's what makes you better
@@BlockPantherPH cause its always easier to catch up when u already start moving
cudos to the guy with the glasses for asking all those questions.. lol
He has a lot of potential, good to see he wants to get better

lmao best comment ever
If you don’t yell “AYE” or “AND1” when trying to create a foul, you won’t get one.
As annoying as that sounds, I’ve honestly dealt with that because I’m quiet when I go up, and I hate it😂
thats the worst
i say “AYE” whenever i do literally anything and if i get a block it’s just a habit of mine to say “GIMME THAT” so💀💀💀

The bump after second dribble also takes away the defenses jumping abilities making contact early so they will have less success blocking you from behind
Yea sure that would work if you're versing a 120 pound midget or a scrub at the park, but if you're putting the ball down like that, at some point the ball has to come back up when you pick the ball up to shoot or pass. It's a simple act of keeping one of your hands high (usually the one closest to the baseline if the ball handler is driving baseline) to restrict vision and block passes, usually the one closest to the baseline if the ball handler is driving baseline. Now if you try and bump, the defender can use the momentum against the offensive player, the hand naturally wants to come down after the person is bumped, now if you want to strip the ball you can do it with way more force. It's how NBA players like Andre Igoudala get steals.
A good and famous example of this is how James Harden stripped Demar Derozan when he wasn't even looking after DeRozan tried to bump Harden off.
Don't forget about help defense aswell, tough shots that come as a result of being off balance after bumping into someone are easy blocks for a defender who rotates over when versing a well coached team.
Kids on defense only try and get blocks, smart defenders try and get strips aswell when the offensive player takes the chance for the block away.
@@JC-rv6lo You're completely right, however I've never seen anyone below the college level know what to do when you bump them off the drive except foul or allow an easy layup
@@MrMaccas94 what do you do as a defender when you get that bump? Especially when a big guy gets af you and you can't really help but get bumped back. How do you recover ?
0:58 bump into layup
1:16 bump into jump shot
5:38 if defender is on tight create space
6:19 mini stepback and change direction

Thx bro
You're the type of coach my school needs. I'm a JV player and I like a coach that get physical with their players and not just standing around and yelling. You actually help your players with mistakes more physically than just verbally. Actually learning a lot watching these videos you post keep it up!
Smurft you said it best bra‼️‼️
how’s basketball now bro?
This is teaching me how to defend y’all’s techniques on my defense
That's why we have counter moves, u can't 100% guess what Imma do

Gaddiel Castillo-Padilla No human mind is capable of doing that, but people are unaware or small little cues they give about what they’re gonna do
Anyone see the “best defender” shorts are on backwards?😂😂
So he can run back faster
🤣😂
Maybe it’s the secret to being best defender 😂😂
that's how he throws his offense off
u actually notice that kind of detail???
PLEASE more videos like this! You just helped alot!
why would you put this on youtube. now all my friends are gonna see this.
David Dieobi are all of your friends willing to put in the amount of work as you though? This stuff is all over the basketball world man it’s up to you to put in that time to be good

“Me”
Him: Starts hoping around like a frog cause he’s scared
Shout out to the dude filming on the side he’s gonna make sure he can’t forget this lesson
Not gonna get those calls in high school
NikeJuice12 thank you, this trainer doesn’t realize that we’re not James harden. He thinks all of these are fouls but nobody calls that bullshit
NikeJuice12 faxxx my hand got slapped mid shot and no foul at all, i barely jump on my release as the way i shoot is a lil unorthodox and tends to throw the defender off thinking im pump faking (much like solluminati or d angelo russell). and this happened at least 2 times that game yet no foul at all, absolutely rigged.
Free x Yeezus I feel you, I went in for a reverse layup and got slapped very hard on my arm and no call was made even though the ball came out weird and was flung into the air along with the smacking sound and a huge red handprint on my arm unbelievable 😒
Game Time yea bro high school ball straight rigged, it gets better when u hit uni and college trust me, i especially hate it when the bench taunts u for getting blocked when it was basically a flagrant in nba standards and i been giving them straight buckets the whole game.
Game Time same thing happened to me on a floater last year. I got fouled by 3 or 4 guys all at once on my forearm and none of them even hit the ball and I hit the side of the backboard because of it. No foul call and it was the 3rd quarter so I screamed that it was a foul and I had to be subbed out 🤣
okay i had trouble driving in and this video really helped! thank you!
1:35 Don’t work in street ball 😭 always getting tagged at the park
Guy looks like Kevin Love's little brother.
Omg it worked I went from playing in a men’s league at the local ymca to the best player in the nba

Thank you you have made me confident in myself to score
Thanks coach gonna use it when i come back from injury
Every baller should watch this and take note. Excellent content!
A lot of good tips but in my public school conference none of those are getting called fouls sorry
I’m late af but ya these are nba calls in high school some of these refs would call the bump offensive tbh
Just believe in your self nothing more nothing less
guys after this video I dropped 54 points in a semi final game. THANK YOU MAN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Ain’t no way 54? You must’ve been REALLY good beforehand, I understand these tips getting you a few buckets but those kind of numbers you are straight up dominating the flow of the game.
I love this video , so excited to try this out at my game 💕🥺
This video really helped me thank u so much
If only I've seen this a couple years back
Always read the defender

*2nd Bump (Foul

Check out the chicken wing @2:53 . I remember Ganon Baker teaching that and used to see footage of MJ doing the same thing. I appreciate the old school game from Drew! Excellent instruction for the youngsters. They are truly fortunate to have things like this.
Steve Nash also did this. It s more a tap on the knee so the defender cant recover

ok at my school depends on the teacher that's refining (yes teachers ref if they don't want to pay for a real one ), if they're a teacher at my school and we do that defiantly a foul if we're at another school hell no. systems pretty unfair but it's only until the season starts.
This video helped me understand more affective ways to help beat your opponent off the dribble, thanks
i get called for offesive foul when i do the push you were showing...
I would love to go but I looked at the website sorry to say but I don’t got 2500 to spend on a camp 😕
I hope one day my coach gonna be like this.
Sorry for my bad english.
It may not mean much but i play 2k and I increased my ppg avg from 4-5ppg to 10ppg. Im getting better irl tho
Rascally Rellic 2k basketball can translate to real life in some aspects and vice versa

Being a student of the game helps. 🔑
So when you are in the zone ,don’t stop and you either have to shoot or pass ?

What should I use, timed workouts or workouts with a certain amount of makes?
7:41 This part is what i need to learn. I realized that i run away form the contact or did a spin like that kid with goggles
That guy can’t be the best defender there lmao 😂
KiD Music he’s probably good inside
KiD Music bruh my refs only call fouls you blow up the PG and issa foul
he's moving his feet well, is tall and has a long wingspan... he'd totally lock you up
felix rauschenberger he’s uncoordinated af. Anybody with a decent handle could break his ankles
felix rauschenberger I have none of these except feet movement and I lock people up way better than me. Just goes to show how important moving your feet is on defense all people care about is offense in this “age”
Good coach
