Great video. Coaches take notice of how well conditioned the coach is. He is talking a lot and demonstrating and he is not even breathing hard. I think this adds quality to his teaching session.
Great teaching...works unfirtunately only if people know how to play basketball...most of the amateur and hobby ballers defends like playing american football or regular football...holding you while running, or sticking like glue to you, moving screens non-stop etc.
Can you go over tips for smaller players? I’m a bit quicker then most guys but I’m 5,8 and primarily score at the basket with layups and gets lots of assist with skips.
I like the slide by finish example, no UA-cam coaches go into anymore detail than your basic eurostep/hopstep/basic contact layup which most players have no context to use to translate them into a game. I doubt I’m speaking only for myself but a video focussed on different types of contact and angles/upper body techniques for help side defence would actually make videos applicable. I only decided to comment this on your page because your videos are by far the best coaching videos I’ve seen on UA-cam and believe me I’ve looked far and wide. Good job man
@@thomassmith8159 He means one on one with the ball in your hands. Plus, running your man to death in the halfcourt offense is often not an option for high school players because the offense your team is running doesn't give you the freedom off ball to be doing that. Many offenses are way too structured
I'd recommend just practicing step backs or creating space, if you want to shoot in a 1 on 1 scenario it's hard especially if they defender knows you want to shoot
Then do what carmelo anthony always does Triple threat position then read the defender Defender is close - Drive to the rim Defender gives (even little) space - shoot Defender is upfront - pumpfake/jab If he bites on pumpfake - drive If he bites on jab - shoot If he still doesn't bite try again or use dribble moves to create Watch By any means basketball's analysis on Carmelo Anthony I believe that it will help you greatly regarding your playstyle
Tricks For Days 33 get a pull up midrange or at least something off the dribble. A zone almost always leaves open a midrange shot. If you make enough you’ll force the defenders to break the zone to contest you or the coach will have them play man.
Besides the other points made, another thing that helps is attacking on the catch. Even a subpar spot up shooter can take advantage of this cuz the defense is naturally inclined to shift on the pass and whatever distance they playing u will almost not matter if u attack correctly. This is more effective from the wings or middle as opposed to the corners cuz a smart defense can sag a bit and use the baseline as an extra defender.
Run hard when transitioning from defense to offense. Push the ball up to players ahead of you then look for opportunities to do all of the above mentioned things.
Spaulding Official NBA ball is the one shown in the video. We normally recommend to high school players to get their state approved ball just so they can become the most familiar with the one they will be playing with the most.
What if u have alot of slasher qualities but dont have enough hops to dunk. Can u survive with alot of crafty finishes or should u focus on being more of a creator?
@@lestra5 I agree...I have some in my bag but every now and then lack of elevation makes them alil more difficult than necessary. Head fakes go a long way too
Hesi between the legs like in the video. You dont have to be faster, the hesi allows you to read the defender while in motion. Ex, you hesi and he bites, go by. You hesi and he doesn't bite, you pullup. You hesi, blow by but he recovers, stepback.
i Play like kobe because i love to shoot hard shots by doing fadeaways so im trying to learn triple threat positions, this was pretty helpful just for other types of defenders
It was still a carry full speed because you stopped the motion of the ball, held it on its side and then restarted its motion downward. The rules are so incredibly clear on this that I have no idea how it isn't called anymore.
What I try to get the defender to think about is stopping me from scoring, I will beat my defender without putting the ball on the floor. You ask how? I will tell you I'm quicker jump higher and get my jumper off over your outstretch hands
Thumbnail looks like kevin love Vs giannis
That's the first thing i thought
Holy shit u right
Off brand NBA
Omg🤣🤣

Your a great teacher for basketball,I see your passion for the sport and love of the game that translate in your lessons!

Outstanding video. Contains information that low to high level players can benefit off of.
This is exactly the stuff I have been trying to relay to my kid....but could not figure out how to do it.....I do now. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
can you please do a video on finishing at the rim with contact
you gotta either jump carry the ball like a football and jump into the defender
The quick 1st step is very effective
Finally something I can start learning. I feel so lost in my basketball progress
charltoneks i kno what u mean

best video i've seen on scoring yet!!
For creators what are some options for the first move to beat primary defender
Any move is a great move as long as it's effective, efficient, and...most importantly...works!
In the video he showed the hesi between the legs. Works more times than not
I use rhytm or just speed them out, I am the shortest guy in the floor and also the fastest
Love your content man!
Thank you for watching! Please let us know what else you'd like to see!
coach can you give us a clear details on how do we bump defenders and how do we use our forearm plss..
Cool moves I just subscribed without thinking twice 👍🏼
Really solid advice for any ballers out there. Fuck it..kill em with your strengths homie.
What if you're a sniper, and you need to score one on one?
Cardio. Run the guy to death, run him thru screens, run him across court.

Great video. Thx !
I’m using all of these
But my defender isn't going to guard me on my hip from the get go. What if the defender is in front of you and doesn't give you a huge advantage?
Great video coach tnx!
What's a 2 9 defender?
Muito bom. Excelente treinador.
I love this videos
Can you make a simple tutorial for bumps???
Jack -- We'll definitely put this on the video list!
Nice info!
Thank you for watching!
Where is this basketball camp?
Is it ok for me to have more than one scoring type?
I am a creator/operator
I was a sniper/sniper. But acquired more skills and now i can score from everywhere.
2:47 my man look like Giannis lol
I’m a Slasher but most teams I go up against play 2-3 zone defence, any advice besides floaters?
That's my weakness too tho, but when it comes to man to man i can score almost every time. i think evey slasher can relate

What type are you on offence
What ball are you using on the video I’m looking for a a new one

what if you're really skinny and can't workout yet and you can't use your physicality to get thru the defender ?
gabrysiaikotheniowakcji why can’t you work out
Then you will suck
i can't yet every gym in my city are open since you are 15 and im 14
do calisthenics (pushups, situps, squats) no excuses to not train
Do you have to have one signature move? Or can you have multiple?
You can more than one it’s good to have more like Harden had different step backs in his package
I just started playing basketball, what is a effective go to move?
defense tips?
Coming soon, my man! We actually filmed a bunch of defensive videos very recently!

Its always better doing a crafty layup instead of a dunk in my opinion

What if you're different types of scorers
What's your specialty, Jamanuel?
